Summer MeetUp For MN Christians

I am hoping to organise a summer meet up for christians on MN - last year we had a fabulous day in Oxford organised by NotQuiteGrownUp. We are thinking of July or possibly the end of June, and the venue is going to be in the West Herts area, which is reasonably easily accessible from the M25 and M1. (If you google-map somewhere like Hemel Hempstead, St Albans or Watford, that'll give you a rough idea of the area!)

We will make sure that there are lots of things for the dc to do, and lots of tea and chat for the mums! The day could include a short service, or informal prayer time...I'm trying to think of how it will work best, so if you have any flashes of inspiration please let me know! The food and drink for the day will be provided and if we all pay a little bit towards it, it won't be that much. Partners are very very welcome too!

It would be lovely to see as many MNers there as poss! If you'd like to come, please c+p to sign in here. If you could put your dcs' ages and any food requirements, that'd help with planning. I'll start the ball rolling:

Hello all. So so sorry about my absence from this (and every other) thread. The thing is I've been trying to sort out a different venue because the one I had sorted for the 21st has fallen through.

Looking at this, would it be better to postpone it until a bit later in the summer?

As I said, very very sorry for not posting sooner.

Sounds perfect to delay a bit, until later in July or August. Then CD and Mufti might be able to make it too. Mustn't be too near to CC's due date! Will your original venue be available on another day?

Possible Saturdays for the NQGUs are:

August 2nd

How do they suit other people?

If we go with Cargirl's church, you can count me in (unless on holiday) - it's just a few miles from me. I can help with catering etc.

OK so it looks like 2 August is possible. Sign up here for a) Surry b) Hemel Hempstead c) somewhere else.

We can then either go with the majority or we can have multiple meet ups in different places - assuming that Cargirl and Rosey are able to book the halls again, of course!

So:

2 Aug - NQGU could do a) Surrey or b) Hemel.

CD - could do 2nd Aug - can do Surrey or Hemel as long as someone is willing to put us up!!?

Multiple meet-ups sounds a brill idea, shame we can't all meet up together but its obviously not practical, I can do meet ups more central in England, although, going on hols 2nd Aug, so could go further on that day if its on our way (ish) caravan in tow!!
