Summer MeetUp For MN Christians

I am hoping to organise a summer meet up for christians on MN - last year we had a fabulous day in Oxford organised by NotQuiteGrownUp. We are thinking of July or possibly the end of June, and the venue is going to be in the West Herts area, which is reasonably easily accessible from the M25 and M1. (If you google-map somewhere like Hemel Hempstead, St Albans or Watford, that'll give you a rough idea of the area!)

We will make sure that there are lots of things for the dc to do, and lots of tea and chat for the mums! The day could include a short service, or informal prayer time...I'm trying to think of how it will work best, so if you have any flashes of inspiration please let me know! The food and drink for the day will be provided and if we all pay a little bit towards it, it won't be that much. Partners are very very welcome too!

It would be lovely to see as many MNers there as poss! If you'd like to come, please c+p to sign in here. If you could put your dcs' ages and any food requirements, that'd help with planning. I'll start the ball rolling:

Roseylea + poss Mr Roseylea, with 2 dc (aged 4 and 5, allergic to wheat, egg, soy and nuts)

I'm not sure - I think that may be the date of the first car boot sale I can actually do (last one H wasn't picking the boys up until later, next one is on DS3's 1st birthday), I'll let you know ASAP and get back to you......

I can do the 14th, just back from holiday but heyho. Wouldn't be devastated if it was on the 21st either.

Aargh! The one social event I have already booked (friend's wedding) is the 14th June. But please don't base this around the decision as I don't think the travel would work out anyway

I may be able to come on 21st, if I can come along late. I have carpark duty to do at the local football tournament until lunchtime, I think.

It means Mufti will be late too - or perhaps she could get a train/bus one way and I'll bring her home.

We could ring him on the mobile Mufti, when we are leaving. If he left home at the same time as we left Herts, we would probably arrive here at the same time. And I'm sure dh would be happy to see him here, if there was any slight delay.

I'll find out more details of this football tournament and let you know when I might be able to leave though

Hello all!

Okay, cost is £10 per family - is everyone okay with that? If not, please e-mail me (let me know if you haven't got my email).

Date - either 14th or 21st June. I have the most wonderful venue in mind so shall I phone them and see when they are free?

LewisFan - yes, come! It'd be lovely to meet you!

Venue will be in the Hemel Hempstead / Watford area, just off the M25 / M1 / near the A41 and close to a train station.

Is this all okay?

Sounds fine for me, still not sure what date the carboot sale is.......shall check tomorrow (if I'd remembered I would have popped into church to check this afternoon on my way to get some bread - the joys of being the organist - I have my own key )

I would prefer the later date for financial reasons but please let the majority rule; I'll figure something out
