Praying through April - Come snow, come shine

Looking back over the thread it is amazing how much has happened in just over a month:

First of all giving thanks for imminent and not so imminent 'beans'
Bobsmum - 36 weeks is it? Struggling with elephant feelings
Podglet on maternity leave now; CS booked for 15th April
Myjobismum - giving thanks for normal scan 14 weeks now and feeling more positive.
CaptainCaveman - give thanks for willyflashing bean. So sad about the lady seen in clinic with a 20 week pregnancy that is no longer viable, Lord have mercy.

Just flagging up some urgent prayer needs

FAQ (Queenofquotes) - marriage has broken up, struggling with life on her own with three dss. Situation not improved by the fact that her lovely vicar had a comprehensive breakdown and is in hospital. Praying for things to keep improving and giving thanks for friends around her.
Podmog Struggling with many issues - Lord bring peace and calm in all situations and relationships.
Praying also for Notsofarnow who is back at work but not finding life that easy.

CaptainDippy and ZipadiSuzy both struggling with rather parallel issues:- unfamiliar work and not a lot of money. Praying for perseverance and rest.
Swaliswan too is getting used to a new job which thankfully she enjoys more than she expected too. Struggling with dh being away a lot and mil threatening a visit straight after dh comes back.

MaryBS who has had such a lot of work to do and who is going for more clarity on a diagnosis of Asperger's syndrome. Praying also for her friend K who will have an operation for cancer on Wednesday.
Also praying for Amber32002 who bravely went to church a few weeks back and who is talking about disability issues with people in the Church at high level.

Praying for Roseylea for clarity of thought on a 'thing that has cropped up'.

Giving thanks with Worzella and Notquitegrownup for enjoyable far away holidays

Praying for Panda's mum with chest infection.

Praying for OJ and Steve, Steve should be home by now but apparently there is some problem with transport. Lord, how we need you in this very hard situation, joy tinged with sadness.

And for all not mentioned NorthernLurker, Mufti, PenpotEca (how are things now sweetheart?) and anybody else - lets get praying.

Praise the lord for 'mess' if we didn't have mess we wouldn't have tidy

CaptainCaveman · 22/04/2008 12:23

lurking and praying for you all

prayinig for time to catch up with you all too

MaryBS · 22/04/2008 14:58

I don't have tidy ...

PandaG · 22/04/2008 16:11

I don't have tidy either Mary...don't think I ever will have!

praying for all situations, and for all my internet friends. THanks for bringing oj's situation to our attention.

love to all x

MaryBS · 22/04/2008 19:08

Panda, you can come and visit then! I feel embarrassed sometimes at how messy we are, but its our home, so people have to take us as they find us

I'm getting into this pie-making lark. I've discovered that DD has the lightest touch when rubbing the fat into the flour, so we have had steak, kidney and mushroom pie - absolutely exquisite, even if I do say so myself. Can I recommend buying mushroom ketchup when making the filling? Really makes it taste good! Also dropped a similar (but bigger) pie off and bolognaise sauce for K and family. From all reports, things are well, praying that the long term prognosis is good...

Amber, I thought this lot had forgotten about ordination for me, now you've gone and stirred it up again! Its really sweet of you though. Praying you can still have your dream house

CCM - how do you feel today? Less tired I pray?

NSFN - praying for that 8yo girl... same age as Rebecca! Would she like a penpal?

Remembering everyone else in my prayers - especially OJ and Steve... sorry if I've not mentioned anyone by name...

Just wanted to add, that for the past few days, I've been experiencing episodes of what I can only describe as pure joy! A gift from God, surely? I'm beginning to feel like I've turned a corner... BIG style PRAISE HIM AND BLESS HIS HOLY NAME!!!!
(sorry, feeling particularly joyful atm, maybe its having a belly full of pie that helps too )

Swaliswan · 22/04/2008 20:20

Good evening Ladies.

Just popping in quickly. Weekend was a bit stressful and extremely tiring. Please will you pray for me to feel better ASAP? I need to be well enough to go to work tomorrow as it's really important that the nursing manager goes through a letter that I've written if I want a chance to apply for my NVQ. I'm feeling very poorly and don't know what's wrong. I have a temperature and a stiff neck/back plus a horrible nauseas feeling.

Praying for you all xxxxxxxx

(Mini sickly boing )

Roseylea · 22/04/2008 20:21

Mary as my dd says "that is sooooooooo cool!" that you are feeling so joyful. Allelujah! (As a bloke in my parents' church shouts out periodically during the sermon!)

Ds (4 y o) had a very bad allergic reaction to egg today . I thought that dd was the allergic one and that ds had 'got away with it' but it doesn't look like it. (This happened outside te home; I got a panicked phone call and had to go and deal with it).

Praying for all of us, those in mess and those in tidy and those in between...!

BTW! Can we start thinking of dates for the summer meet up? I have at long last thought of a venue. Shall we start a separate thread? Also I was thinking of calling it a Christian meet up rather than a prayer thread meet up, as I'm aware that there are christians on MN who don't post here, who might like to come? I'll start another thread tomorrow and link there from here, so keep an eye out...

MaryBS · 22/04/2008 20:25

Rosey - praying for DS...

re: meetup, NOT the last two weeks in August PLEASE! We are away on holibobs then...

DutchOma · 22/04/2008 20:27

Oh Mary, just reading through your post I came to the bit where you said "I dropped..." and I thought 'Oh no, not again' and then it went on to say "..off another pie at K's." She's home now?
So glad you are full of joy, it gets you like that sometimes. You need to store it, write about it, remember about it when things are being a lot more tough again.
DumbledoresGirl is having some trouble with planning issues over an extension she wants to build, I'm sure she would appreciate our prayers for a speedy resolution
Pray for Bobsmum too, she is very close to having the baby, if she hasn't already had it, I've not heard anything for a day or two.

ButterflyMcQueen · 22/04/2008 20:35

just wanted to say hello although have name changed since last here

you were all so supportive when i needed help last year and i often think i never thanked you enough

but i do check in when i see your threads

hope you are all well x

notsofarnow · 22/04/2008 20:57

DO that was the exact conversation I had with CBT lady today that I need to write donw the good things and when i feel good because I cant fathom what is different when I feel good as to when i feel bad. I just want to bottle the good feeling and get it out when I feel bad but I cant.

I know that probably makes no sense and it makes my head spin so how I expect you lot to understand.

All this pie making mary sounds yummy.

CaptainCaveman · 22/04/2008 21:29

Mary am feeling much better today, although still tired. I think I expect too much of myself - I keep telling myself I'm only pregnant, not ill! HOwever, I shall feel as tired as I want to from now on, and not go to work if I'm too exhausted. Only 2 weeks to go until hols so am sure I'll feel properly recharged after that.

Can you please pray for VG, a lady on our ante-natal thread? Her mum is ill in hospital AND her dog got ran over and has broken it's leg. Dog needs surgery to repair broken bones. Many thanks!

Rosey - do you need to check availability for the venue or will it be free anyway? I'm due Aug 17th so that pretty much wipes out the last 2 weeks in August for us too. July would be nice! (I plan to start mat leave on July 3rd ish). And, would you like any help with the organising? Not sure what I can do but just say the word and I'll help out with whatever I can.

I feel very blessed this evening. Very very peaceful and calm and full of the love and joy of Jesus. The little boy in my womb feels like he is glowing with God's love and its wrapping all around me. Does that sound odd? It feels GREAT!!

worzella · 22/04/2008 21:35

Hi everyone - glad to hear you are feeling joyful Mary!

We're not tidy people either. I was talking about it to a friend of mine on Saturday and she says she spends 45 mins per day on housework etc. - maybe that's where I'm going wrong!

Please can you pray for a friend who is going through chemo at the moment for breast cancer. She's due to have dose no 2 tomorrow and is feeling anxious. Ta

DutchOma · 22/04/2008 22:03

Welcome ButterflyMcQueen.
NSFN, writing to Mary I thought of a jar of bottled plums, all red and shiny. I don't know either how you can bottle plums of happiness in real life, it keeps coming sown to 'count your blessings' Make it a virtue to write down five blessings every day (even if they are the same blessings)

OP posts:
MaryBS · 22/04/2008 22:24

DO Yes, K came home last Thursday. A jar of bottled plums???

Personally I think these spurts of happiness are gifts from God... I DO remember blessings, as they have sustained me through some dark times... still, no substitute for the real thing though! PRAISE HIM!

ZipadiSuzy · 22/04/2008 23:09

Mary - I love your 'pie' senarios! good job k family like pastry I love it! Praise God for your happy boingy time!!! - you have indeed cheered me along of late! thank you.

CC - OOOOh 2 weeks to holibobs (Marys saying) another good word CD - prayers for your tiredness, I am so happy you are in a nice place atm especially feeling your precious baby boy wrapped in your joyful faith!

CD - Prayers for a peaceful time to appear in your busy schedule, missing you!!!!

Hia ButterflyQueen, what was your name before? tell me to butt out if you want to keep it quiet! glad our prayers were of help

Also, glad there are alot of you who don't worry about 'mess' I feel more at home already, you are all welcome to visit anytime, I'll pass you a duster on entry! more like a bin liner!

Thank you God for my butterflies at craft this afternoon at playgroup, they went down a treat, and thank you for the fab comments from customers at work about my teaching!! that makes me soooo happy!

Prayers for all the poorly ones on the thread.

Right must go to bed, just got back from work, am absolutely knicky knacky noodled! at least I will get 5 hours sleep

ZONK!!!!!!!!

ZipadiSuzy · 23/04/2008 00:04

Good morning!

ZipadiSuzy · 23/04/2008 00:05

I knew this would happen, just can't wind down, can't get to sleep!!!! GRRRRRR

DutchOma · 23/04/2008 09:37

Mary, yes, bottled plums, the plums are the happy moments which are difficult to keep, I don't quite know why the picture, but what you wrote made me think of preserving beautiful round, happy objects to keep for a cold and frosty day.
Did you get to sleep in the end Suzy?

OP posts:
Roseylea · 23/04/2008 09:54

Just popping in v. quickly to say that I've posted about the meet up on the Religion main board, and also inm meetups. My computer is a bit weirdy atm and if I tryto do anything compicated like link it locks, so could you follow your noses and look at those threads please? And anyone with a less temperamental computer link for me?

CCM thank you for the offer of help! Remember you will be heavily pg by then so don't offre too much! Last yr people made some scrummy puddings, so I might ask if we could do that again (and CD please please pleeeeeeeeeeease could we have another Banoffie Pie...?) And maybe Mary can dazzle us with her well-practised pie making skills too! (As long as she doesn't drop it first, that is!)

podglet · 23/04/2008 11:43

Morning all,

Just dropping in as Libby is sleeping and Dp is painting the kitchen!

Mary - your post has lifted me too - made me feel all good about everything and my blessings, especially my littlest blessing as she sleeps.

CCM - glad you are feeling less tired. I used to say the same thing, not poorly, pregnant but there are times when you have to give in to it, just think what a miracle your body is doing, it needs a rest occaisionally

Rosey - off to look for threads now, if it's not too far from me, I shall def try and be there but I don't drive (due to being partially sighted) and public transport with 2 littlies is a little scary.

Can we pray for my colleagues DS who was born a week before DD? He was early (36 weeks) because his mum suffers with diabetes and he has been in hospital with heart problems. Please pray for his full recovery and for God to wrap him and his parents with love. Thank you!

Notquitegrownup · 23/04/2008 11:50

Link to the meet up thread here, if I've done it right. Thanks Roseymeet up thread

Morning all. Lurking - but must go and do some work!

MaryBS · 23/04/2008 14:48

OMGosh I can HEAR!!!! Praise God!!! My ears are opened!

Everything sounds so noisy! I thought, whats that swishing sound as I walked - it was the lining on my skirt!

Amazing!
