Ginger made me want to heave more. I was unlucky with the morning sickness but peppermint was my saviour. Geniunely. That and the anti-sickness shots and tablets i ended up with. I hope that the sickness passes for you and is not a drawn out affair. But if not and it ends up really bad i do suggest considering the medical anti sickness route. not idea but sometimes nature needs to be gently reminded she is a little out of control.

Congratulations on the little sticky bean.

HillsBesideTheSea · 30/01/2022 21:33

Oh almost forgot - the sea sickness bands helped too.

HillsBesideTheSea · 30/01/2022 21:34

Hilarious - beef oxo cube was my saviour after the lightening strike incident. Also great when you have done long distance walks and feel a smidge shakey.

queenrollo · 30/01/2022 21:34

Oh what wonderful news Toto
I found that I kept the worst of my nausea at bay by snacking regularly. Very plain biscuits were my thing, especially Arrowroot if they are still available. Otherwise something terribly boring like rich tea fingers.
I had packets stashed all over the house and literally the first thing I did on waking was eat a biscuit!

Aerwyna · 31/01/2022 06:46

Good morning friends,
Just wanted to share some sea energy that lifted me yesterday. Simultaneously soothing and bolstering to stand at the water’s edge and breathe in her magnificent energy- just the tonic.
It’s wilder and windy out there today- not as powerful as the storms where you are speakout but I’m inspired by you to see them as the winds of change.
Wishing you all a magical Monday

A stunning photograph Aerwyna - Earth, sea, air and fire all in one composition. Really beautiful, a piece of art.
Those storms stirred things up for me I am feeling in a much better place to deal with things, and will be loaded up with Obsidian today to keep things that way.
I have my Women's empowerment course this morning, today's topic is self compassion. Not a new idea for me but will be worth exploring the subject with others and from new perspectives.
It's a frosty start here this morning, but looks to be a bright sunny day, so laundry magic may be in order.
It will be yoga with Adriene on youtube this morning, I think I am up to day 7 of her new release. Only 23 minutes long, I don't have time to go to a class ths morning.
Have a magical week sisters!

Thank you speakout. Your energy is wonderful and I’m so glad you’ve felt a shift. Storm Corrie, new moon in Aquarius and the lunar new year, and Imbolc energy are creating just the energy we need for bright changes I feel. I have a sense of possibility and hope.
Your women’s empowerment course sounds wonderful and perfectly timed. As well as being such a positive message to your psyche to take the time to engage in it, I know your wise warrior energy will bring a powerful energy to the mix- sparks of the divine feminine that will ignite flames. Exciting stuff!

Just dropping in to say I’m glad everyone is feeling brighter. I am too thanks to a weekend that filled my cup up. Just simple things, like baking with my DD and properly catching up with DH over coffee, much needed. I’m also getting rid of my smartphone after much reflection.

Be careful in the wild weather all!

@TotoAnnihiliation congratulations! Wonderful news! I had nausea in the first trimester and found eating something (salty crackers worked for me) first thing really helped. If it doesn’t abate, do see your GP as there are things you can’t take for sickness.

VioletCharlotte · 31/01/2022 07:42

Aerwyna thank you for sharing that photo, when I look at it I can almost hear the sea splashing against the shore and feel the sand beneath my toes. I don't think there's anything more restorative than being near the sea.

I like the idea of seeing the blustery weather as winds of change, I can almost feel the shift in energy as it blows all the cobwebs of the last month away, making room for fresh Imbolc energy.

Time to get up now. I try to do yoga 3-4 mornings a week if I don't have an early meeting. I think I'm on Day 17 of Adrienne's January release.

speakout · 31/01/2022 09:01

Just been doing some Tarot work for my own guidance today and drew one for our group- Strength- a lovely reminder of our power!

Thank you speakout for the card pick and what wonderful energy for our group. It feels apt as we collectively rise to our feet in tune with the incoming Imbolc energy. I so appreciate you sharing it with us, a blessing for us all. I hope your course has gone well today.

Violet I love how in tune you are and am so pleased you could feel the sea energy through the picture. I’m happy to hear of you taking the time to nurture yourself through yoga when you can in the mornings.

moregarlic glad to hear you’ve been filling your cup. I agree that the simple things are often just what we need. I felt so much better yesterday after stopping to say hello to the sea.

I hope everyone is safe and calm this evening. It sounds as though some areas have taken a huge battering from the storms.

New moon blessings sisters 🌙

Mums1234 · 31/01/2022 19:54

I also love being by the sea violetcharlotte.

I'm not sure if you know much about astrology but Mercury has been in retrograde the past few weeks and will leave Feb 3rd. This is all about misunderstandings, IT issues etc

moregarlic · 01/02/2022 08:08

@Aerwyna it’s quite incredible the profound impact nature can have on our energy, mood and mindset isn’t it? The sea in particular I find, I think in part because it’s so vast. It powerfully puts things into perspective I find. I can’t wait to start swimming in it again.

@Mums1234 oh really?! I’m not sure how I missed that, it makes sense though. I know very little about astrology but some of the group are very clued up on it.

How’s everyone’s week going so far? I bought myself a very cheerful bright jumper in a charity shop yesterday, which has bought me a lot of joy for £1.99.

Happy Imbolc everyone! I’ve read it means "in the belly of the Mother," as the seeds of spring are starting to stir in the belly of Mother Earth. I’m new to these traditions, but that certainly sounds uplifting! Have a peaceful day all x

AnotherCrazyBirdLady · 01/02/2022 10:51

Good morning, all!
@TotoAnnihiliation - many congratulations!! I'm afraid I can't really help re morning sickness, I was sick all day every day for about 6 months with my DS and nothing really helped, although the sickness bands did alleviate it slightly.
Imbolc and the Aquarius new moon feel very invigorating, a real fresh start and as I type this, I can hear a Robin belting out his song in preparation for new growth, and as I popped out for supplies earlier, a small herd of male Kashmiri goats were wandering around town, giving off their 'unique' musk, ready for rutting season.
I also notice my camellia is flowering, and I hope I manage to dissuade the squirrels from eating the buds this year - they have a strange love of nibbling the heart of these flowers, though I have never worked out why!
I hope everyone's day is filled with fresh, new hope and bountiful growth!

speakout · 01/02/2022 11:01

Imbolc Blessings dear sisters. Brigit the fire goddess associated with the festival is known by many names. Unable to kill off the pagan deities Brigid was canonised by the Irish church and still venerated at candlemass, the christian festival.
Still the goddess under a different guise and often thought to be a particularly Irish goddess she was venerated all over the Celtic world, Here in Scotland we call her Bridie or Brede, Norse and Scandic have their interpretations, Germanic ancient cultures worshipped her too.
Imbolc is one of my favoirite times, hope everyone finds a new spark or energy in the coming days.

With that one post speakout you have just made me realise i am actually a hard polytheist.

All levels of crazy still going on here. And my time is in demand from Ds in a different way, thankfully he is working with me on scheduling rather than demanding. But yikes his to do list.

I enjoyed a rather long sit on top of a hill in the middle of the storms at the weekend. But unfortunately it feels more like i am still in the middle of a tempest rather than the winds of change atm. I would like to say that i will be walking this week, but my time is committed else where so i am not even sure that i will get my long weekend walk in. I took a picture for you and i will try to upload another time, because tech is definitely working against me in that respect this morning.

dementedma · 01/02/2022 14:46

Imbolc Blessings all.

BlankTimes · 01/02/2022 16:01

Wonderful news Toto

Blessings everyone on this Imbolc Eve.

speakout · 01/02/2022 17:52

BlankTimes and to you dear sister.

There seems to be different schools of thought regarding the exact timing of Imbolc. Ancient Chinese cultures celebrated a similar festival based on the inclination of the sun, some pagans do that also, which puts Imbolc around the 14th of Feb ( no surprise that is Valentine's day either). Ancient Celts were sun worshippers.
Many like to work with a lunar calender, and of course some of us stick to the Gregorian "modern one". so all quite confusing!.
My own feeling is that Imbolc is not a fixed point, rather a gathering of energy which lasts over several weeks, I notice lighter nights, shoots appearing, noisier birds, and this week the easing of storms and a new moon means that today I feel the power of Imbolc strongly.
No right or wrong of course- just celebrate when it feels right for you!!

Thank you for the well wishes. I shall be here reading what everyone is up to and learning from you.

VioletCharlotte · 01/02/2022 20:39

Imbolc blessings to you all. So interesting to read about the traditions.

I've got an urge to start spring cleaning my home and decluttering, but it's not going to happen any time soon. I really could do with about a month off work just to sort things out around the house and tidy up the garden!

I've got an appointment with DS tomorrow which is likely to be quite emotional but I'm hoping it'll be positive and help him move forward. Would be grateful for any healing energy you're able to send.

Aerwyna · 01/02/2022 20:49

Imbolc blessings sisters. Wishing you a sense of hope and possibility as we all feel the stirrings of new growth.

speakout thank you so much for the fascinating information and inspiring reflection. I love learning about different folklore and traditions. How wonderful that Brigid will have a public holiday in her honour!

Violet I’ll be sending healing and productive energy tomorrow for your appointment with DS x

I’m not usually one for wishing away time but I’m not sorry to see the back of January this year. February is a month of celebration for us, plus we’re going on a much needed little holiday. I’m looking forward to having some fun.

@VioletCharlotte I hear you on a month off to get things done, that would be so good. All the best for your appointment later, sending good wishes your way.

@Aerwyna lovely artwork again!

@HillsBesideTheSea I hope you can stick with your walking, it’s such a good habit for so many reasons.
