I've still got my decorations up. I like the lights as they make my lounge feel cosy. I know I'll be itching to take them down soon though, I normally do it New Years Eve as I like to wake up NYD to a fresh, clean house.
Speakout I'm glad you're feeling better, I'm the same in that I like a bit of normality! I understand about the waste, what a shame that your relative felt the need to buy so many gifts. Its much better to send just one, really nice gift that you actually want/ need. I think some people buy 'stuff' as a way of expressing love. The intention is good, but it's unhelpful as you end up having to find a way of rehoming it all.
Toto I'm sorry you've had such a tough time at work and think you've made a brave decision to put yourself and your family first. My SiL is a teacher soon understand the pressure you're under. Maybe it's something you could go back to when LO is older if you decide you want to. Or maybe you'll do something else completely. Whatever, there's absolutely no shame in doing what's best for you all.
Queenrollo the weather is awful here too. I'm hoping it clears up a bit this afternoon as I'm meeting my friend for a (very muddy!) dog walk in the forest. I think we'll go even if it's raining, as the dogs need a walk and I always feel better after being outside.
Hills so pleased you're finally getting some much needed sleep. Your decision to prioritise the needs of yourself and your DS is a wise one. So many of us exhaust ourselves by always putting others first.
Has anyone set any intentions for the new year? I don't make resolutions, but I like to set intentions for things I want to work at bringing into my life, or energies so want to work with. I'm planning to do some journalling later to get all my thoughts out, I find this helps me to see more clearly what it is I need to work on.
