Morning, all! It's a cold, grey day here, but last night's new moon has sparked some witchy energy, which is helping things tick over nicely! There's something very powerful about this time of year - it's almost as if I have a direct line to manifesting, a quick flick of the wrist and whatever I need is right there.

@moregarlic, Astrology is a passion of mine, here's a quick list that will hopefully help some:
Parker's Astrology - I bought this book to help me get to grips with the basics, and it's something I referred back to a lot in the beginning.
Sun Signs by Linda Goodman was the first Astrology based book I ever bought and is a great foundation for an in-depth understanding of each sign's energies.
www.astro.com/horoscope is your first step to drawing up your own birth chart, though you do need to create an account.
www.elsaelsa.com/ is a great resource - if you click on 'Topics' from the banner at the top, there's pages and pages of info to get you started.
I hope these are useful!
Right, I am going to zoom off to hang some laundry in this 'interesting' weather and freshen up my home! Blessings, all!

Aerwyna Your grounding work sounds divine- the perfect start to the day!
It's not quite 3pm and already dusk is falling- I like lghting candles at this time, just before sunset in the winter months. Too early to put lamps and lights on, but a little candlight gives a cheerful glow to the dimness of late afternoon.
I am not a fan of fireworks, I will make sure my cats are safely inside before it gets dark.
I will be safe in my cosy nest listening to something sothing. I feel sorry for the wildlife and farm animals who have to endure the noise and alarm.
Astrology cafe is a good website for making free natal birth charts, also great for tracking celestial movements, giving daily, weekly and monthly reports as well as brief explanations.
This is the page for the natal chart

Am properly sulking about the fireworks Blush glad it's not just me who isn't a fan! Raced home to make sure kitties are ok as the fluffy one is prone to cystitis and I'd rather she didn't have to suffer! So an early start is on the cards tomorrow to finish tidying and hanging new work Hmm

Grounding sounds like exactly what I need, I'm going for a nice soothing re-read of the thread 💙

HillsBesideTheSea · 05/11/2021 18:42

Blush i love the fireworks. I am off onto a hill to watch the displays from a distance.

BelladonnaKebab · 05/11/2021 19:15

@moregarlic I have felt the same, and had many name changes since the 1st thread, but even though I often have nothing to add, when I feel empty I always find my way back here. Such a comforting place. Am glad to see the fire is still burning and if its OK will settle here for a while, it strangely feels like home.

speakout · 05/11/2021 19:24

It is so comforting to hear that this is a cosy place for many.
Life is challenging and changes in society mean that we don't have that real fire to commune, to huggle, to wind down and share as a group. Having virtual space allows us to do that, to create a tribe. Much of magic is about dreamwork, virtual space, creations of the mind, so no great leap between that and a magical internet kitchen!
So many of us here to keep the fire burning, the teapot warm, and we can certainly listen, articulate, unburden, uplift, and console with words on this thread.
A very real space!

I love this speakout, you have so eloquently described how I feel about our space too. I love what you say about dream work. Our shared space is also very real to me, I treasure it, and the sisterhood we share. It bolsters me throughout the days and I know I have a web of support within reach whenever I need it. I love that others feel the same and am always delighted to see old friends and new faces here. As you said before, there is no attendance register kept, those who have connected with our magical space remain part of it. It’s lovely to see you again BelladonnaKebab
VioletCharlotte · 05/11/2021 21:05

Our little corner of the internet is a special one is isn't it? I feel exactly the same, it's a haven to come to when I'm need of solace, totally at ease in the company of likeminded souls. Thank you all sisters, for everything you bring to the thread.

Im not sure how I feel about fireworks. I don't really like them as I feel so awful about the wildlife and domestic animals who can be so scared by them. But yet, I can still remember the excitement of being a child on bonfire night and being taken to watch the fireworks. I've seen silent fireworks for sale this year, it would be lovely if these could replace the noisy ones so people could enjoy the fun without the bangs!

Nowadays I've got no desire to be outside in the cold, I'm much happier at home with my fire and my candles and the dog laying on my feet!

BlankTimes · 06/11/2021 02:45

I love our kitchen, the aga and the fire for warmth, the magic teapot for brews, the company and the quiet corners for reflection, it's all here Halloween Smile

Fireworks are a no from me, I've seen far too many negatives. I think drone displays will be the future, this one's amazing and the speed of tech advances guarantee much more spectacular sights and importantly for people and animals who are traumatised by the noise of fireworks, silence.

BlankTimes · 06/11/2021 02:46

and the link to the drone display is

speakout · 06/11/2021 06:31

BlankTimes thanks for postin that. I have seen it before, but worth re-watching.
I agree about the fireworks- despite the aesthetic pleasure of them it cannot make up for the alarm and fear they cause to animals- plus the inevitable injuries caused by misuse and accidents.

I am not suer why we even celebrate Guy Fawkes- of course I know thestory- but it seems such a random and odd event to have become embedded into our culture. A failed terrorist attempt- not sure why that is worthy of celebration. I will stick to my Samhain celebrations!

No idea what the post was that was deleted but totally agree the whole .bonfire night thing is an interesting one.

We take one figure who in one of the civil wars (cos really calling them the reformation/restoration/war of the roses don't stop them being civil wars) tried to blow up king and parliament. Who was hung drawn and quartered, dragged around London and them his head left on a pole outside the tower of London as a warning to others. I know that supposedly we used to have a guy on the bonfire because it was supposed to remind us not to try to blow up parliament.

But to me it just seems that we have kinda stuck to more pagan pleasures of fire and feasting with a gathering. Although with the fireworks it has become a bit of a willy contest. I don't think fireworks should be available for the public to buy though. And silent ones would be amazing because it is the colours that i love most. Personally I hate drones. With a passion, and think that they should be banned. but that is another story.

In the end i ended up sat on a hill crocheting a blanket with the low cloud whistling past the cars and making them look like they were breathing fire. There was no fireworks visible from the top of the hill. Just nature displaying her power.

Woken up feeling rough again this morning. Have done since my 2nd jab for covid. But my soul has been soothed a little and I am unable to get stuck from the overwhelm of too many high priorities, not enough time or me analysis paralysis i was getting stuck in. So that is a help.

may your weekend be gentle, and allow for some soothing moments in nature.

Braving Costco ths morning- hopefulyl get back before the approaching storm hit us.
The wind is already strong, but need to get some provisions.
I need to hang onto my broomstick!

Blanktimes thank you for posting that, I think you're right that drone displays are the way forward!

Lovely morning here, cold but the sun is shining. I'm enjoying a coffee and pastry following a Body Pump class (slightly counterintuitive but it's all about balance, right?!) I also went for a steam and sauna so my skin feels all lovely and glowing.

Off to Waitrose next, I don't normally shop there but they've got a new plant based range I want to try. This afternoon I'm going out for afternoon tea to celebrate a friends birthday, so a nice day planned.

Hills sorry you're feeling a bit rough, I hope you can relax today and get plenty of rest.

speakout · 06/11/2021 12:12

VioletCharlotte

Your day sounds lovely.
I missed pump this morning, but done enough exercise this week and have a primal yoga class tomorrow at 9am.
The storm has arrived. It hit just as I was leaving costco- quite an expensive place to shop, but the quality is good. I bought a huge bag of monster lemons, some spices and ink ( which was cheap)
I have a cat who has burrowed himself under my elbow, cosying up on this wild blustery day.
Time to light some candles!!

Speakout your day sounds lovely.
VioletCharlotte hope you have had a lovely time at the celebration

So i got a lesson today. And am now plodding through what needed to be done with strong painkillers to aid the back that twinged whilst doing a challenging task (involved a lot of bending and twisting). It is not so much that it painful that is the problem. more the fact that I still have several other jobs that also involve bending and twisting to be completed today. hopefully the now repotted monstera is happier about the result than I am.

Next up to make the fish and rest of the plants happier.

Will hopefully get to a little kitchen witchery with mini apple pies later too. But that might be more than a little optomistic atm.

Verbena87 · 06/11/2021 21:37

Just sticking my head round the door for ginger tea and to wish everyone slightly belated new-moon energy.

@hilariousnamehere your silversmithing is lovely - I’ve done a little bit but never got as far as being able to set stones. We did make our wedding rings together like @Aerwyna’s friends though, which was a lovely thing to do. We put some tiny and carefully chosen runes on the inside. Mine is one of my favourite possessions.

@speakout I definitely get that ‘stoned’ feeling from churches sometimes - St Mary’s in Wirksworth, Derbyshire stopped me in my tracks - an amazing atmosphere and definitely feels a bit pagan somehow.

Aerwyna · 07/11/2021 07:43

Good morning friends,
Just enjoying a catch up with my morning tea, the cat purring beside me is not conducive to getting up and on with the day! So I’ve been list writing instead, a busy week ahead in various ways requires some planning. It’s looking a bit peopley too so a bit of protecting my energies will be in order too.

I’ve been loving these cooler mornings, the sun low in the sky as I drive to work. From there I see misty fields and high tors, grazing animals. It’d be hard not to feel in tune with the turn of the wheel. I feel very lucky in that respect.

I’m another one who wishes the use of fireworks would stop- to me the negative impact outweighs any fun or enjoyment of them, although I can relate to the nostalgia of childhood bonfire nights. Always makes me fancy a jacket potato! I agree about the fuss about guy fawkes, strange when you think about it.

It’s been lovely to read about everyone’s days- afternoon tea, giant lemon hauls and getting home before the storm, crocheting on a hill and thoughts of mini apple pies all sound fabulous. There’s such joy in being amongst people who share similar pleasures in life.

Tea finished, cat more deeply relaxed and now snore/purring, I’d better drag myself out of our cosy burrow regardless..Wishing everyone a magical day

speakout · 08/11/2021 07:05

Another Monday has rolled around, another wet and windy day, 6 degrees, so having the heating on now is necessary. Just waiting for the house to warm up a little before I jump in the shower.
A quiet day work wise, I have to force myself to slow down at times, DD is coming over later, I am cooking a curry in the slow cooker, perhaps some onion bajhis too. Deep frying always makes my eyes smart, even with my extractor fan running- but they are crispy and delicious!
It's certainly the time for warming hearty food.
I hope you all find magic this week to lift and support .

OP posts:
AnotherCrazyBirdLady · 08/11/2021 09:15

Mondays have always been my least favourite days - perhaps a hangover from school days when you knew you were back in the classroom? Over the past few years, I have been combatting this by performing little, tiny acts of enchantment through the day to set me up for the week ahead, I'm glad to say it's made a difference!
@speakout, I love onion bhajis! Home made, especially - I can almost smell them!

The season is definitely drawing in now, the light is dimmer and the air feels slightly thicker and I have already brought out the fluffy blankets to keep cosy. I am looking forward to a jacket potato this evening already.
The town had its' fireworks display last night, and at one point, our windows were shaking with all the bangs and booms. I am not a fan.
I hope everyone has an uplifting day!

VioletCharlotte · 08/11/2021 09:22

Good morning sisters. I woke up to a beautiful sunrise and clear skies, but it's clouded over now so I think your rain may be on its way down south Speakout

I can't complain though because yesterday was gorgeous, I went to a nearby city for a walk along the river with my dog and climbed to the summit of an Iron Age hillfort. At the top is a circle of beech trees where a chapel used to sit, the energy is incredible and so peaceful (I got that 'stoned' feeling we've been talking about. It felt so good to be outside in the elements.

Aerwyna I smiled at the synergy with your pair yesterday, as at the time you posted I was also curled up in bed with a cuppa, dog snorting next to me. I've been making lists too, it helps me feel more in control! Good luck with your 'people-y' week!

I saw this earlier and thought I'd share as I'm sure many of us can relate to this sentiment.

Any Witches Here? Part 15
TotoAnnihiliation · 08/11/2021 18:37

Good evening sisters,

I am hoping my sister teacher witches are available to offer advice (and any other professionals who can help). Tomorrow, I am being observed by the head teacher, I'm a bag of nerves!

So far, I'm planning an early night and listening to mediation before the lesson. Any other ideas?

HillsBesideTheSea · 08/11/2021 18:46

Having been observed by ofsted in a past life, despite what it feels like, they don't want you to fail, and they are not out there to destroy you. Remember, you know your stuff, what will come out of it should be feed back to help you to develop.

I know that is mundane but it is what i have to offer from this conversation.

Woolyminded · 08/11/2021 21:24

Good evening all. I haven't added anything to the conversation for a while, but I've often popped in for a comforting warm by the kitchen fire. I really enjoy the insightful comments and positive atmosphere. Thank you!
TotoAnnihiliation Good luck for tomorrow. I like simple visualisation exercises to make me feel protected and mentally strengthened before draining experiences like that. I like to imagine positive energy forming a shiny suit of armour around myself. I was wearing my psychic armour last week when I got observed. It didn't go as planned, they never do, but I felt more resilient and unscathed. It only took me a few hours to feel at peace again rather than days!
Good night sisters.
