Hello sisters

Welcome @cuppaTandchill

The magical storm last night was amazing..I fell asleep to the sound of rain! The rainwater cleansed my beautiful crystals nicely. The ones that aren't water friendly were cleansed by sage smudging which I do every full/new moon.

Our altar looks lovely at the moment with lots of Mabon/Samhain symbols and offerings.

I love this time of year!

HillsBesideTheSea · 21/10/2021 23:07

Good evening. Did anyone see the orionid meteor shower last night?

Warm greetings to our new visitors around the fire, i hope the teapot has been suitably accommodating in your brew wishes.

I have been head first in a good old fashioned mundane deep clean and declutter. I am also apparently on a mission to turn my bedroom into a jungle/plant centre. I see no problem with this. I have also been having to walk everywhere as my car is broken and it means i have really had time to appreciate the season. Sooo many mushrooms about.

I hope that what is left of this week treats you kindly and leaves you with plenty of energy and motivation for some magic this coming weekend.

hilariousnamehere · 22/10/2021 01:31

I've not processed my moon photos yet but thought you might appreciate a heads up - ceramic mushrooms and toadstools in Lidl! Found them by chance today while picking up everyday groceries and they've cheered me right up! The big ones and most of the small ones will go to my studio as props, but I'm keeping a couple of the little ones at home for my altar and my kitchen Halloween Grin

Welcome newcomers, this thread mves so quickly!.

hilariousnamehere those toadstools are adorable, I am off to yoga in the next village this morning, and there is a Lidl nearby, I will pop in and have a look.
It is getting darker and colder day by day, still managed laundry magic yesterday, but mornings need the heating on now. I love decorating the house at this time of year, I have an autumn wreath on my front door, pumpkins on the doorstep, my besom in the porch decorated with fairy lights. It is such a magical time and I feel very freeing- many of us who are in the closet can jump on our brooms and fly.

Morning, sisters - and a warm welcome to all new seekers!
Well, it's been a very up and down week - I kept my head down over the full moon, its' energy felt very volatile, and I wasn't in the best of moods!
I can really feel the dark seasons creeping in now, but paying attention to the lunar cycles really helps me counterbalance my SAD symptoms, and helps reinforce that nothing lasts forever and there is always something beautiful to look forward to.

I shall attempt a spot of laundry magic, but showers are forecast so think I will be ducking out to gather it in before long!
Venusian blessings to all, I hope this weekend is nurturing for everyone x

speakout · 22/10/2021 16:53

AnotherCrazyBirdLady yes dark seasons are digging deep now.
hilariousnamehere thanks for the heads up with the toadstools- I bought some today- so many in the pack, and in a lovely little wooden crate.
I love them.

TotoAnnihiliation · 22/10/2021 17:59

Are the toadstools suitable for outdoors?

speakout · 22/10/2021 18:23

TotoAnnihiliation

I am not sure. I have box her, and searching the label.
No indication- apart from " made from ceramic". They look sturdy, but I don't know if the paint is waterproof.
They are lovely though.

OP posts:
hilariousnamehere · 22/10/2021 20:22

Yay speakout I'm so glad!

Toto I reckon if you sprayed them with varnish they'd be ok outdoors, although not sure about ceramic and winter - they might crack with the frost.

I am awaiting an emergency vet zoom consultation as my fluffy cat has been dry retching all day. They do keep us on our toes... Very much hoping we won't have to go down in person as she finds being boxed incredibly stressful, but will see what the zoom vet says Sad

cuppaTandchill · 22/10/2021 22:17

@hilariousnamehere oh I do hope your fluffy cat is ok!

Finally Friday and I'm looking forward to a quiet weekend after a heavy week of studying. Currently tucked up in bed with a sleepy blend tea reading. I'm thinking of going on a autumn scavenger hunt with the DC tomorrow and then home to do some crafts. I will be wrapping up warm though as the temperature has really dropped the past 2 days and I feel the cold.

Hope everyone is enjoying their friy evening

That should have said Friday evening 🌚

hilariousnamehere · 22/10/2021 22:34

Thank you cuppa. She's been declared ok to stay home till our 9am at normal vet tomorrow, and am just hoping of the likely issues it's one that can be fixed with antibiotics or metacam rather than sedation to remove a stuck blade of grass. But she is obsessed with grass so we'll see what the morning brings!

speakout · 23/10/2021 07:37

hilariousnamehere I hope your cat makes a swift recovery.
Indulging in a second coffee this morning before starting the day. Weekends are often very busy work wise for me- OH has the weekend off, so he takes care of the domestic front.
I was planning body pump this morning, but have cancelled the class- I just realise I have done 6 gym classes in the past 6 days, and I am feeling physically tired.
So may go to a local cafe with OH for breakfast instead.
I have to de-paganise a room in the house, my mother is hosting some church friends today, it is an entertaining run through, my muggles specs are a little foggy, and I have to do a conscious tick list - smudge sticks? OK or not? Goddess figurines? Hares? Wands and pentacles lying from a photo session- probably not. Thankfully the group is not from her most fervent church ( she attends two churches) and as we are nearing Halloween I hope they won't notice my broom in the porch!
I am the black sheep in the family!
The break of dawn seems so late this morning, even now the sky is quite dark, a deep midnight blue with just a shimmer of azure above the trees hinting of the sunrise to come.
I did manage to find a great deal on bird seed in Lidl yesterday, a huge bag, and a great mix, will help during the winter months.I also put out food for squirrels. I don't to feed the seagulls- I am 3 miles from the coast and seagulls are abundant here. Seagulls are noble creatures and I respect them, but they don't mix well with native woodland birds,.
Feeding seeds from a table or a hanging feeder doesn't interest gulls, but will sustain robins, tits, finches and the small shy birds.
Just off for a spa shower, light some candles and settle down for some gentle meditation.
Have a magical day dear sisters.

Morning, all!
@speakout, we feed the squirrels here separately too - they ransack the bird feeder otherwise! We also have a resident pair of herring gulls, they must have been here at least 15 years, and are honestly the most gentle gulls I have ever known and we affectionately call them George and MildredGrin

Went out earlier to stock up on favourite incense and a walk by the sea - much needed! Am now settling down with some chamomile tea and some cookery programmes, one of my favourite ways to unwind.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend x

HillsBesideTheSea · 23/10/2021 14:31

Afternoon.

We do not feed the birds simply because we try to avoid feeding the will steal your bird feeder squirrels and lay traps for the will happily invade your house local rats as it is. It is a shame but the rats have no fear and will approach you during the day as it is.

took a long walk in the hills, the mushrooms are really out atm. Some really pretty ones to be seen.

TotoAnnihiliation · 23/10/2021 16:44

Thank you for all the advice on the toad stools. I think I'm going to buy some hardy outdoor ones for little Toto's fairy garden.

I would love to have a bird feeder. Unfortunately, all that it will achieve here is my cars thinking I've created an all you can eat buffet. 2 out of 3 are hunters!

speakout · 23/10/2021 17:00

AnotherCrazyBirdLady

Your gulls sound so sweet- Geaorge and Mildred stirs some memories! We have flocks of gulls around here, and their behaviour can get quite rowdy in numbers. Not seen any rats around here- I am sure they are here, but doesn't seem to be a problem. My bird feeders are mostly haning so I think any rats would need acrobatic skills!
TotoAnnihiliation I sympathise with having killer cats, it is sad when domestic cats kill wildlife. My cats are too lazy and probably overfed to catch anything. I do have a problem with magpies in the house - I leave back doors open and the birds come in to eat the cat food- I often find my cats cowering in the corner after having their lunch stolen and feeling terrorised by a pair of magpies.

Morning sisters Brew

Just popping by to join you for a quick cup of chamomile tea before I go out.

Am off to the woods again today to the Oak tree, to see if there are any acorns I can collect.

It's a very cold but sunny day here, beautifully autumnal with a hint of winter just around the corner.

I feel very peaceful since the full moon. Things have calmed down at work and my mental health has been very positive.

I hope things are going well for everyone and we all have a magical Sunday ✨

Blessed be

Evening all.

I hope you have all enjoyed a lovely relaxing weekend. If not I hope you soon find some time to do something you love.

Today I baked a cake. I now need to wrap it up and feed it every so often to mature. My house smells so homely right now.

Hi all thank you for the welcomes i hope you are all ok.
Its been a strange week here ive posted in the covid forum as fed up of feeling off. Ive felt so strange but this week def covid symptoms but getting negative tests.
Trenzalor im really glad about this. Talking of 1612 Im going to pendle on samhain cant wait. Ive visited all the villages recently connected to them its a magical place but so sad what happened to them.
Those toadstools are lovely ☺☺
Hope all are ok xx

Trenzalor · 24/10/2021 20:37

@Bluebellfae I had positive LFs all week and then negative PCRs. False positives on LFs are really rare and I used four different batches as well. I think there’s a strain that isn’t being picked up on PCRs or there’s a third incompetent lab.

Theres definitely something going on like that i agree, hope your feeling ok xxx

I've just ordered lots of craft materials to make a new wreath ☺ me and DS been decorating some things to add to it xx

speakout · 25/10/2021 05:53

Trenzalor smae thing happened to my DD recently.
Two positive lateral flow tests pollowed by two negative PCRs.
She kept her work informed ( NHS) and they advised returning to work after the first PCR result. She took a second anyway to confirm.
I agree it is very confusing. We are in Scotland- so different labs here.
