notsofarnow · 02/12/2007 21:19

cc you are doing a wonderful job hun. iknwo what you mean about dsis encroaching on your space I think I would feel like tht if xh came to church now. Even thou I try to encourage him to go back to church.

well I have had texts off him today saying that he's made mistakes, and that he doesn't feel he can come crawling back now and has put me though enough the last few years and a whole load of other stuff.

why oh why could he not have got his head sorted years ago. I just dont understand what all this has been for and where it is going. aghhhh

That poor darling lo i told you about last week it seems that she drowned,then was dressed, was driven to a&e when rigamortis had already set in. Just glad she is in the arms of Jesus now. Just pray for the mums and pupils at the school who are so desperately affected by all this.

geekymummy · 02/12/2007 21:26

waves at mary - must read that sermon - sorry mary.

DutchOma · 03/12/2007 09:49

Well, I rang my gas engineer this morning and he 'had forgotten all about it'. He had put it on a piece of paper and not in his diary but he will ring me tonight to make an appointment for Wednesday or Thursday.
CC that must be very hard for you feeling that you are not altogether happy about dsis coming to church with you, because a lot of people will not understand that you are not delighted that she is coming anywhere the church. But she has been taking from you all her life in so many ways (and I know nothing more about the situation than what you have told us so there may be lots more I know nothing about) that your reaction is entirely understandable. The only suggestion I can make is that you, as it were, shove Jesus between you to make some distance between you. She cannot take Jesus away from you and you need to be 'hidden with Christ', tucked up under the 'shadow of his wing' which is the place of ultimate safety

DippyChristmas · 03/12/2007 10:30

CC - Don't feel bad about the attitude towards your DSis coming to church with you - I do understand those feelings. Let's just pray that Jesus really does a work in her and going to church "as a family" can be a special and pleasant time for you all in the future xx

Hope you get it sorted with the gas engineer, DO xx

Liking the christmassy names, Mary and CC It's fine to still call me CD, BTW - I'll still know what you mean and I'll still respond!

Oh, nsfn - continuing to pray for the situation between you and your X-H - So complicated and frustrating / difficult for you sweetie. xx God protect you all. xx to what happened to that little girl too Praying for her family and for all affected by this tragic loss xx

geekymummy, thank you for popping by - wonderful news - Praise God xx

Still feeling very wobbly and anxious, but ok ...... roll on Christmas!

DingdongMaryBonhigh · 03/12/2007 11:39

At home today. DS has a bad cold and cough. DH was up all night coughing, and I've got a sore throat too...

Sermon seemed to go down well among the congregation. A number of people came up to me afterwards and congratulated me - I was told it was thought-provoking. The vicar was a bit of a mizog though (he's off on retreat tomorrow, praying he comes back less stressed!)

Had a v. busy weekend, what with patronal Eucharist followed by supper on Friday, church bazaar Saturday, then church Sunday morning and evening, with a visit to Santa (1.5 hours of queuing!) on Sunday afternoon.

DippyChristmas · 03/12/2007 11:44

@ 1.5 hrs of queuing to see the Red Guy - very dedicated Glad your Sermon went well and yougot some good, positive feedback (and helpful?? ) Yuk to horrid colds, hopey ou all recover quickly.... xx

DutchOma · 04/12/2007 19:37

DD sent this

A man and woman had been married for more than 60 years. They had
shared everything. They had talked about everything. They had kept no
secrets from each other except that the little old woman had a shoe
box in the top of her closet that she had cautioned her husband never
to open or ask her about......

For all of these years, he had never thought about the box, but one
day the little old woman got very sick and the doctor said she would
not recover. In trying to sort out their affairs, the little old man
took down the shoe box and took it to his wife's bedside. She agreed
that it was time that he should know what was in the box.

When he opened it, he found two crocheted dolls and a stack of money
totaling $95,000. He asked her about the contents. "When we were to be
married," she said, "my grandmother told me the secret of a happy
marriage was to never argue. She told me that if I ever got angry with
you, I should just keep quiet and crochet a doll."

The little old man was so moved; he had to fight back tears. Only two
precious dolls were in the box. She had only been angry with him two
times in all those years of living and loving. He almost burst with
happiness. "Honey," he said, "that explains the doll, but what about
all of this money? Where did it come from?" Oh," she said, "that's
the money I made from selling the dolls."

Women will love this..

A Prayer.......
Dear Lord, I pray for Wisdom to understand my man;
Love to forgive him;
And patience for his moods;
Because Lord, if I pray for Strength,
I'll beat him to death.
And I don't know how to crochet. Amen

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 04/12/2007 19:38

DO - I love that - my poor dh - if only I could crochet.....

DippyChristmas · 04/12/2007 19:57
