CD, as ever an inspiration to me, Thank you for the new prayer thread (((((CD))))).

Well, dsis is back OFF the wagon, she rang this evening to say she's been drinking for past 2 weeks, back to 2 plus bottles of wine per day. The positive is that she has told her key worker and they are off to the GP together on monday to get her back on the straight and narrow. Not sure yet what they'll do though, perhaps another detox? She's having withdrawal symptoms again . Praise God that she has been able to speak out relatively quickly. Prayers that she gets her recovery back on track. Her ex-p is staying with her to help look after her dd.
She has also phoned our dad up this evening and ranted/shouted/cursed him for being useless, never hugging us and never telling us he loved us (true though!). And she has been in touch with our bro, who abused us both.
I would be so grateful if you could pray for my protection from my family who have hurt me so much in the past, and through their own human-ness continue to do so. Feels like a big kick in the stomach when I have really busted my ass to deal with my issues, that they so carelessly bring up stuff connected to the abuse like they're making a cup of bloody tea!! Forgive me Lord, I could quite cheerfully put them all in a room and lock the door for a year!

it is an agressive sarcoma (tumour in the tissue)
no-one seems to be able to tell us much but her treatment is palliative only

Bit of a rollercoaster CC, isn't it? I can't even imagine what it must be like to have to deal with the abuse and the memory of it, but to have it brought up so casually must be very tough.{{{{hugs}}}}. It's like remembering this wonderful beautiful morning and ending up with this cold rainy evening and still there are fireworks going off.
But tomorrow the sun will shine again and God never changes

NSFN What an awful thing to happen to dd. Do you believe her when she says she has handed the book in? If so, stand on your head to prove it. Go to the school and talk, never mind what your dd says about losing cred. If not, again, stand on your head to prove it, unfortunately I have experience of a teenager lying with so much conviction that they believe it themselves.. Whatever the truth of the matter, nobody has the right to say what they did to, or about her.
Hope ex gets his licence back so things are a little easier for you.

Oh, CC - @ your DSis, but positive that she has told her key worker and that she felt able to speak to your dad and your bro ..... Really praying that God protects you all as a family and enables you to work through all of this in a positive and the least hurtful way. Well I have been at church today for a day-long sesion on leadership based on the life of Moses - very thought-provoking and inspiring. Also, I have been asked to speak at the church plant tomorrow morning; I was sharing some thoughts with one of the leaders the other day and she's asked me if I can do a 5 minute talk saying much the same stuff tomorrow morning. And, although this shouldn't make any difference at all, our vicar is visiting our little church plant tomorrow morning. I'm aware that he's never heard me preach / speak publicly before so plese pray that I can communicate clearly and confidently and not mess it up! I'm also doing the sunday school teaching so it's going to be a busy morning for me.

Btw I got on really well at the hospital - I started talking to one lady for a long time, who shared very deeply with me and I prayed with her and left her a little card with a lovely Bible verse on it, so it really was worthwhile to go after my somewhat reluctant start!

And tonight is my time with my lovely dh who's been looking after the dc today; a nice glass of wine for us both I think!

Good morning! Anyone around?

Just a quick plea for prayers this morning; this is the first time I've led the Sunday school in the church plant and there are some older kids whom I really want to draw in, so please pray for them in particular. Also it's the first time I've "spoken publicly" (it's a very short talk so it's not a sermon exactly) which I'm doing first (before going off with the kids for Sunday school) so please pray for holy confidence and for God to speak through my words! Thank you!

Not going to church this am DD1 has been invited to a Party this am and we've been invited to friends who used to go to our church this pm - so little ones are going to have a sleep this morning while I take DD1 to Party and then we'll come home in time for little ones to wake up and go to our friends. TBH I am struggling with church atm, so is DH - it'll be a bit of a relief not to go tbh
