A shiny new thread for a bright shiny new year.

This is a place to pause, be still and count our blessings, great and small. Everyone is welcome, whether you have faith of any kind or none at all.

We would love for you to join with us as we celebrate the good things from loving families to washing drying on the line😁

Grateful to be spring (summer?!) cleaning, getting the house all cosy for autumn.

So glad it's possible for us to start having more day trips rather than accruing more toys.

Grateful for the NHS.

BigGreen · 01/09/2021 22:57

Grateful to be able to truck on at my own pace with work and housework without too much deadline pressure.

I'm looking forward to having some really great organisational systems in place for home and work. It feels like the first time I can see above the parapet for a couple of years.

Lessstressedhemum · 03/09/2021 16:22

Ds4's first week at college successfully navigated. It's his first week ever in a formal education setting and it was very stressful for him, especially because he has asd. But he got through it in one piece.

DD booked her slot to pick up her flat keys at uni. Let's hope 3rd year sees some actual in person teaching and learning.

Ds3 getting on well at his new job.

I'm grateful for the plants in the world that provide us with food.

For my DD's littleness that mesmerises me.

To have good energy to do the things I want to do.

For my sister who is a great friend to me too.

BigGreen · 05/09/2021 22:48

Those are gorgeous Quinin, really made me smile Smile

To have passed on grown out of toys to other children.

To be through the baby stage (and the bulky equipment stage).

To be creating new household organisation. Hoping to work as a family team. Grateful to have some funds to buy a few things.

BigGreen · 06/09/2021 23:18

Another two bags to the recycling and closer to an organised home.

Lovely little incidental alone times with my boys: getting all the gossip from the new school term from my 7yo.

A beautiful sunny day.

quinin · 07/09/2021 19:46

Thanks @BigGreen. My 9 year old has told me all the goss too!

I'm grateful today for being able to listen and be guided by a force much bigger than me and to have the confidence to go with it.

For the lovely chemo nurse that has looked after me for my last few sessions. She's a cancer survivor and has been gifted to me I'm sure.

For cabbage - my latest obsession. Under rated but so delicious 🤤

Lessstressedhemum · 07/09/2021 22:02

I love cabbage!

Glorious warm sunshine after a couple of days rain to bless the earth.
Fresh food and clean water
My kindle. I honestly don't know what I'd do without it.

Progress made on tidying up.

Funny colleagues.

Local bargains!

BigGreen · 08/09/2021 22:52

More progress on tidying up. I'm trying to do it properly like Marie Kondo, so that I'm surrounded by lovely things I value and systems that work. It's been a hard slog so far but starting to see some changes.

BigGreen · 09/09/2021 22:58

Grateful for sweet kids who think it's super exciting to collect the veggie box and who always find something new at the park.

Grateful for kind friends and neighbours and being allowed to socialise a bit more.

BigGreen · 10/09/2021 23:46

A wonderful, energising work meeting.

More bags sorted for reuse and recycling, happy to be making new spaces in our bright home.

Grateful it's Friday and looking fwd to the weekend ahead Smile

quinin · 11/09/2021 22:50

I'm grateful DD's first week at school has gone so well for her. She seems to have taken to it really well Smile

DS was picked for the football team snd is super chuffed, so nice to see the excitement of life in his face.

I'm grateful for a relaxing sunny day and long chat with my oldest friend.

BigGreen · 11/09/2021 23:07

That's brilliant Quinin Smile

Grateful to have a casual day out at the local museum just like pre-covid times, brilliant!

Grateful to have spent time with the kids who are just so joyously excited about things like sitting upstairs in the front seat of the bus.

Enjoying how DC3's welly and shorts combo gave people a little chuckle.

The house re-organization continues! More bags to recycling and more to come.

Grateful to be coming to the end of decluttering. I can see how nice it will be soon.

I played games with my boys after school today, it was lovely. And we just wouldn't have done it if they'd still been stuffed into the cubby downstairs.

A new fresh day to try again at work tomorrow.

Breathmiller · 14/09/2021 19:39

Grateful for my ancestors who diligently kept important pieces of their lives well looked after.

I have spent a day or two looking through boxes of tea sets given as wedding gifts to 3 generations

BigGreen · 14/09/2021 22:54

DS3 has started nursery! Grateful for the wonderful teachers at my kids' school. It is a lovely place. I'm excited for DS3 to have exciting times after being stuck in so much over lockdown.

Grateful for comedy, really enjoyed tidying up this evening and watching some re-runs of Black Books.

Lessstressedhemum · 15/09/2021 19:27

Grateful for the hug I just got from DS18. He's really coming into his own after the wilderness of the teenage years.

For attentive and interested students who are eager to learn.

BigGreen · 15/09/2021 23:08

Grateful to have a wonderful new colleague who's just taken a load of urgent work off my desk. She is awesome.

Glad to have had some more human meetings lately, where we get to think and talk together rather than just sorting out bureaucracy. It's filled a social hole I have in wfh.

I'm grateful to be nearing the end of the decluttering, I'm getting tired but still holding on to the vision of what it will be like. The kids were able to get themselves a board game and play it together this morning which definitely would not have happened before!

BigGreen · 17/09/2021 23:09

Grateful to have some spare money to spend on a couple of new things for the house.

The decluttering is entering its final phase! Things are so much easier to put away now.

I'm grateful to wipe the slate clean for a new day tomorrow since I didn't do my finest parenting today.
