A shiny new thread for a bright shiny new year.

This is a place to pause, be still and count our blessings, great and small. Everyone is welcome, whether you have faith of any kind or none at all.

We would love for you to join with us as we celebrate the good things from loving families to washing drying on the line😁

Thanks quinin

Its so good to hear your health is improving. When we have chronic illness and/or chronic pain we do switch off the connection from our mind to our bodies. Its so good to hear that you can connect them a little more again.

Today I'm grateful for a lie in and no work ahead for the day. Ive been working 6/7 days at the moment and with lots going on in my spare time with studying, planning birthdays for family, supporting elderly relatives and getting organised to get ds back to school.

But nothing today! No big plans. Bliss

BigGreen · 15/08/2021 23:07

Beautiful posts Breath and Quinin Thanks

I'm struggling with some work atm, but still making progress. I've never been closer to getting finished than today. Plus DH has been wonderful and taken the kids for days even though it's knackering for him.

Lessstressedhemum · 17/08/2021 10:34

I'm so glad that you're recovering, Quinin. Chronic illness is the pits and it really does sever the mind body connection. I find that my mind really, really does not want to listen to my body because that would mean acknowledging it's limitations.

Breath, how blessed you are.

BigGreen, one step at a time. Every one is one nearer the end of the journey.

I'm grateful for a continuing, slow recovery with a bit less coughing and breathlessness each day.
For the vet having a cancellation and phoning us to offer it for the bunny's jags.
For my soft warm, soppy cat
For a conversation with my oldest friend yesterday. We have been friends for over 50 years. I was too unwell to go to her dad's funeral at the end of last week and I was heartbroken that I couldn't be there for her. We were able to reminisce and I hope that I brought her some small amount of comfort.
In light of what's happening in Afghanistan, I am so grateful that we live in a country where we have freedoms and that is governed by the rule of law.

I'm grateful for a bit more energy today. And for things falling into place.

For the abundance of fresh food available. For the time, the energy and the money to buy and cook this food for my family.

Lessstressedhemum · 19/08/2021 19:25

Tea and digestive biscuits
My instantpot
The bunny was declared fit and healthy at his health check. He's getting on a bit (almost 7) so it's always a relief when the vet is pleased with him.

Glad to have inadvertently booked such an historic cottage and learned interesting things.

Glad to have had a chat with PILs about how things are. Many struggles but it's good to communicate a bit better.

Breathmiller · 23/08/2021 11:29

A day with no work, youngest at school, no major need to be anywhere or do anything.

Peace, solitude and some me time.

A lovely invitation to do some work later in the year with a project that I feel excited about.

Having a job that is a delight to do. I am very lucky to do what I am passionate about for a living.

(And another reminder how reframing things into gratitude helps - i had been a bit overwhelmed with work and something came up on social media saying to be "grateful for your life - to someone somewhere it may be their dream")

So I am grateful for having work that I enjoy.

Lessstressedhemum · 26/08/2021 19:41
