A shiny new thread for a bright shiny new year.

This is a place to pause, be still and count our blessings, great and small. Everyone is welcome, whether you have faith of any kind or none at all.

We would love for you to join with us as we celebrate the good things from loving families to washing drying on the line😁

Listening to the sheer joy of next door's children playing their new paddling pool. It brought back so many memories.
Time to just sit in the sun and breathe.

A lovely caring dh who listens to me when I'm dealing with a tricky situation with someone in training. I felt heard and held.

Lessstressedhemum · 18/07/2021 17:56

A slight break in the heat today before it ramps back up again tomorrow. The west of Scotland is not supposed to be like this😁
Bunny seems to be coping ok with the heat.
Prayer and quiet contemplation

An amazing day of training with such knowledgeable and generous tutors.

Optimist1 · 18/07/2021 20:15

So grateful to have a lifestyle that allows me to keep cool on these hot, hot days - I'm well aware that those who are working are having it hard.
A very productive mindfulness session a few days ago - the effects are still apparent
My lovely family

BigGreen · 18/07/2021 23:35

That's so funny about the fish story @Lessstressedhemum Grin

Today I'm so grateful to hang out with an old friend for aaages. It's really nice having shared memories. And it's been wonderful to dive into a shared worldview.

The chocolate orange ice cream I had was amazing.

I've enjoyed sharing London with other creatures today. There was a huge dragonfly in my garden and I had such a lovely cycle seeing the swans cygnets and even some sharks (luckily those are fibreglass Wink).

Breathmiller · 19/07/2021 14:13

A swim in the local river after a run with dh and ds. Bliss.

A quiet afternoon off with not much going on so I can sit in the sun.

Time for a longer meditation and yoga practice this morning.

A healthy lunch sitting outside in the sun.

BigGreen · 19/07/2021 22:57

Really fun outdoor learning in a beautiful cool forest, so lucky to have it and to be part of a really interesting group of people.

A delicious outdoor lunch.

Making good progress on a piece of work.

Breathmiller · 20/07/2021 09:01

biggreen how lovely.

I used to home educate my children and one of my favourite things was forest school days. It was such an amazing way to learn.

Lessstressedhemum · 20/07/2021 15:49

I home educated, too! We didn't have anything like forest school but one of our favourite things to do was walk the 3 miles to the park and spend our time divided between a bit of book learning and loads of nature, creative and physical activities. Even in the winter, my kids loved this. Being outdoors, amongst nature is a great way to learn so many things.

I'm grateful that my cat and rabbit seem to be coping with the heat
For a chat with a close friend, even if it was remotely.
Ds4's wounds healing well from his wee procedures.
The ability to turn on a tap and have clean, cold water readily available.

How lovely. Home edding outdoors really was fantastic.

Today I am grateful for friends visiting and putting up with me taking them up a hill on one of the hottest days of the year. It was a bit more of a hike than I remembered.

And for ds10 talking me into a river swim after to cool down. It was utterly blissful. I feel very very lucky to live here.

frozendaisy · 20/07/2021 18:07

Grateful for a meeting which went better than expected.
Some thoughtful TV.
A really great meal.

Breathmiller · 21/07/2021 08:05

Fantastic.biggreen glad you enjoyed time in the forest for you.

I am grateful for time and space to sit in silence each morning.

Breathmiller · 21/07/2021 17:05

Grateful for some medical investigations not being as worrisome now. And for the respect given at all points from everyone, from the gp to the consultants and scan teams.

Grateful for a quiet day after a small procedure for said issue.

For access to healthy food. We were all hungry so just had an earlier dinner today and it was fresh and full of veggies. Some from the garden some from our local greengrocer. Felt like summer on a plate.

quinin · 21/07/2021 19:43

So glad to hear that breathmiller, wishing you a swift recovery from your procedure.

I'm grateful for my egg chairs which are so comfy to sit on in the shade.

For the beautiful clouds in the sky that always calm and ground me.

For my energy therapist who is a gift from above. Amazingly kind woman who listens with intent of understanding has helped me enormously.

BigGreen · 21/07/2021 23:01

Wishing you a swift recovery Breath and so glad it all worked out to be manageable.

Grateful today for excellently weird TV (Becoming a God in Central Florida).

For delicious cookery books.

For childcare help coming tomorrow to help me get my urgent stressful work done.

Breathmiller · 22/07/2021 07:44

Good luck with your work today BigGreen

I am grateful for the most beautiful moon last night when I came to bed. The sky was the most wonderful colour of blue and the nearly full moon was almost orange. Not a cloud in the sky. I love the colour of the sky in the lighter nights we get in Scotland.

frozendaisy · 22/07/2021 11:26

Hazy summer days.

Planning for summer camping and holidays.

Amazing mini arts festival at weekend where me and the Mr couple chill under dappled tree shade (because kids old enough to go get their own ice creams).

BigGreen · 22/07/2021 22:50

Grateful for nice in laws.

For the freeing feeling of not being the one taking care of everything.

Lessstressedhemum · 23/07/2021 09:23

For the sense of inner peace I feel more and more these days.

For my hearing, so nice to listen to the various sounds around me.

Optimist1 · 23/07/2021 15:24

A relaxed lunch with my DIL as we watched the Olympic opening ceremony. I'm preparing to get passionately involved in sports I've barely watched before now!
The benefits of a great night's sleep
Pride in my DD whose stellar career continues to progress

BigGreen · 23/07/2021 23:07

For bringing FIL pleasure on his birthday with a nice meal.

Watching the kids and grandparents having a wonderful time together.

Kind bike repairers who fixed loads of extra things on my bike for no extra cost - I'm not rattling any more! Love zooming around on my bike in the sunshine Smile

BigGreen · 24/07/2021 23:13

Today was a bit frustrating all round so I'm grateful to be able to clean the slate now and welcome a new day tomorrow.

Grateful for a lovely compliment from MIL about the effort I put into parenting. It felt nice to be recognised.
