A shiny new thread for a bright shiny new year.

This is a place to pause, be still and count our blessings, great and small. Everyone is welcome, whether you have faith of any kind or none at all.

We would love for you to join with us as we celebrate the good things from loving families to washing drying on the line😁

@rainbowninja

Date butter is literally butter and dates blended together in a food processor, delicious spread on toast or with pancakes!
Healthy jam!
Lessstressedhemum · 08/05/2021 19:47

Clean running water and flushing toilet
The bunny has perked up a bit. He's getting a wee bit older and is starting to slow down.

Music that gets you through difficult moments
6 yr old DD's delight at opening her flower press for the first time
Noticing mood improving little by little after hitting a low point a few months ago

A kind husband who can really listen.
The endless variety of food we have available.
It's my turn for a lie in tomorrow!

quinin · 09/05/2021 08:42

A beautiful blue sky

My cleansing green tea

The greenery that surrounds me

Lessstressedhemum · 09/05/2021 16:57

Thanks, Rainbow, it's been a horrendous year for uni students. She's had no face to face teaching since the end of February last year and they haven't even begun allowed to travel back to their accommodation after Christmas. So it's not ideal. How can you do engineering without any lab work? However, she has coped well, all things considered, thankfully.

A lovely church service today
Painkillers
It's a bit warmer today.

Went for our first family cycle. It was wonderful Smile
Ordered a garden sofa and some lights, feeling lucky to have a small patch of green.
Glad that I'm trying hard to do self care at an otherwise challenging time with a lot of trying health stuff to deal with.

Breathmiller · 10/05/2021 12:49

Seeing my mum in the nursing home! I am beaming with joy.

rainbowninja · 10/05/2021 22:08

Oh that's lovely to hear about @Breathmiller 😍

My herb seeds arrived in the post
6 yr old DD seemed like she was coming down with something yesterday but it seems to be just a cold and she has been fine today
I spoke to my sister which we don't get to do nearly enough these days

BigGreen · 10/05/2021 23:20

My two boys look so beautiful sleeping. So happy they are in my life.
Glad to have reconnected with a wonderful colleague whose passion rubbed off a bit.
Something I worked on got launched today, felt nice to just recognise that.

I am grateful for Zoom, and I'm grateful for my hobbies etc.

Breathmiller · 12/05/2021 17:13

Grateful for a client opening up to me and trusting in me to share some personal stuff so we can work together to help her find tools to help her through a difficult time.
And grateful to all the teachers (and my inner teacher) that helped me find these tools to help others.
Sharing compassionate practices is a joy to call work.

BigGreen · 12/05/2021 23:10

For DS aged 2 and his joy and enthusiasm in learning to scoot.

For getting my work finished eventually even if it was a bit late.

Watching the kids feel so proud of the boys aged 2 and 6 making dinner (a Greek salad). So many "little tastes" as they went along.
A nice walk to get the veggie box. And a bonus celeriac!

rainbowninja · 14/05/2021 22:13

Grateful for:-

DH finally handing his notice in at a job that makes him so stressed
My lunchtime bacon sandwich
The support of my friend who picked my daughter up from school and took her to the park

BigGreen · 14/05/2021 23:30

Hope your DH is able to finally relax Rainbowninja Thanks

I avoided an "eat all the chocolate and then feel bad" situation today.

It was a tricky day. I'm glad for a cosy bed.
