bobsmum - just had to laugh at the "World Wide Massage Tribe". Do they offer hands on healing?

bobsmum · 02/10/2007 11:45

As long as it was massage the cheesy beat of a Casio drum machine - I think they'd do anything

Who's in da house? God's in Da house!

(barf!)

MaryBS · 02/10/2007 12:26

Hey, don't knock hands-on healing - I do that!!!!

bobsmum · 02/10/2007 12:31

you would knock it if it was the World Wide Message Tribe doing it

Hello - I've been lurking here for a bit and 'know' Captain Dipppy from another thread. Can I join with you and can I be very forward and ask for prayer for my baby B - who sounds very much like she has croup. I've 'done' croup before with my older daughter so no major panic - but its not going to be fun! Thanks

PandaG · 02/10/2007 15:54

HI NL - pleased to meet you, of course I will pray fo ryour daughter, and am sure others will too

Oy the rest of you - WWMT may not be my taste in music, but what they have done in Manc is fabby - I have heard Andy Hawthorn preach a few times and he is inspiring. Some folk in our church are deliberately moving into deprived areas of our city to be salt and light there too, not us I hasten to add, not called ot that, at least not yet...

I DO like Deliriou5 though, been to a few of their gigs, is really awsome worship for me. I do like trad worship too,

bobsmum · 02/10/2007 16:01

Hi NL - welcome - praying

panda - I wasn't getting at the Message Trust, like I said I know some folks who are living it for real. I just remember the Tribe being a bit OTT and cringy with a lot of polyester

Delirious were good - I like King of Fools.

PandaG · 02/10/2007 16:33

Sorry Bobsmum, I was being more tongue in cheek, but that didn't come over very well did it? I agree the polyester was a bit much, and I don't do dance music, but God sure was in Da House for them

bobsmum · 02/10/2007 16:35

And indeed jumping in the house of God too

PandaG · 02/10/2007 16:39
Grin
PandaG · 02/10/2007 16:40

How is it going at work Mary?

podglet · 02/10/2007 17:27

Hi all,

Hi NL, praying for a speedy recovery from the croup. Thankfully I haven't encountered it yet...

Mary - praying work has been ok for you for the last couple of days and the big disaster is sorting itself out.

Hey lovely DO - glad you had a good hols. I have been to Bala and found it a beautful place.

All ok here, bought DS his first pair of soft shoes today as he is on his feet more and more - they have little trains on and are sooooo cute

MaryBS · 02/10/2007 17:56

Argh, post wouldn't save! Work is still a problem, but at least people got paid today (1 day late).

Roseylea · 02/10/2007 20:09

Hello all! Just a v. quick one - about to sink into a bubble bath with a Phillipa Gregory historical novel and a decaff tea...bliss!

So we had the first Christian club today, and although we only got 5 girls it was v. good talk we had with them - I asked if any of them had any christian friends or knew of any christans in the school and the answer was a unanimous "no" (none of these girls is christian either). I was reading Isaiah this morning, about bringing God's light "to the ends of the earth" and that is so much these young people who have had virtually no contact with christians, never stepped foot in a church...Lord reach them with your salvation!

notsofarnow · 02/10/2007 20:25

NL welcome - have done croup, bronchiolitus, asthma so prayers are with you.

DO thanks for the book not had chance to read much of it yet but am going to try and sit down with it.

I've got loads of stuff to do that I can't really be bothered to do including loads of paperwork for mediation to finalise financial stuff surrounding divorce. Ugh.

I have just spent 40 mins talking to my internet male friend. First time i've spoken to him. Scarey stuff. Watch this space

DutchOma · 02/10/2007 20:43

NL Praying for your little daughter, that God may lay His healing hand on her and give you strength to cope.
Bobsmum, Adrian was serving in the communion service, obviously gone up in the world . He was indeed a lovely man and very patient with this daft woman who said she knew about him, but not his name from someone she kew about, but not her name..or the name of the husband who was supposed to be his friend.
CD I have asked dd to stick the oneway nappies in her bag, she says she used a milk bib, but they may be an expense too far? I'll have them tomorrow and stick them in an envelope.
Podglet, thank you for your kind words. How are you settling in your new house?

NotAnOtter · 02/10/2007 20:46

i say prayers for you all- for what mine are worth

MaryBS · 02/10/2007 21:13

NotAnOtter, believe me, they are worth a LOT! Thank you!

NL - I did try to post earlier, but t'internet lost it! Praying for your DD and for some rest for you!

RL - that's fantastic news, you reaching out to those girls! Well done! May God guide you in your ministry to them!

Its been a while since I've been asked to preach, but I'm going to preach the first Sunday of Advent, which should be lovely, and also is after all my work for this module is out of the way... M. has also suggested I take the "lessons and carols" service in our main church, with him sitting in the choir... not likely! If he wants me to do that, he can sit in the congo! It'll be nervewracking enough as it is, without him breathing down my neck!

NSFN - looking forward to some gory details!

DutchOma · 02/10/2007 22:24

Please pray into this here
Getting really concerned about the way this is going and I'm still too far away to do anything about it.

DutchOma · 02/10/2007 22:26

CD have emailed you re address

MaryBS · 02/10/2007 22:32

DO - thank you for alerting us. Am praying.

PandaG · 02/10/2007 22:54

Am praying for Mummy2TandF

NAO - thank you for your prayers, they are valued, God hears every one. Thanks for continuing to visit and post on this thread, you are very welcome

harrisey · 02/10/2007 23:56

rosey - great news about your club.

Quickie from me too - lectures restart tomorrow! 9.15, Christology! Bit nervous - is my brain moosh?

MaryBS · 03/10/2007 07:52

Christology, from what I've seen on that it looks a fantastic subject! Didn't Alister McGrath write a decent book on Christology? My next essay is on the Tractor Movement... must be based in Norwich

... just kidding its the Tractarian Movement, I thought Tractors sounded more interesting

DS woke up at 4 this morning, saying it was time to get up and he was hungry!! . He was eventually persuaded back to bed by DH.

I see Steve (onlyjoking's other half) has going for another dose of chemo, so can we remember him in our prayers as well.

PandaG · 03/10/2007 07:56

Morning all!

praying for Steve

I've got a job application from to fill in today, haven't done one for years, just looking at it is making me feel queasy! Am sure I could do the job, is just daunting fitting concrete examples to the conpetences. Aaaaargh!
