No wonder the poor guy had no idea who you were talking about!

Notquitegrownup · 01/10/2007 17:04

Welcome back DO! How funny Harrisey! I remember that post DO - and I would have said that it was Harrisey who had posted too. However, racking my brain I think that it was NSFN. Or was it Bobsmum?!

Hi CD!! My boys are . . . challenging, at the moment. They usually take it in turns, rather than being challenging all at the same time, but life feels quite hard work. DS1 is being the little boy with a curl in the middle of his forehead at the moment - when he's good, he's very very good, but when he's bad . . . . He's sitting on a lot of anger these days, which seems to bubble up at unexpected moments.

Praying. God bless all.

DutchOma · 01/10/2007 17:12

I've done a search and it was Bobsmum
Oops, that's what happens when you use funny names. If and when he writes to me I'll tell him that I got it wrong. I have given him my e.mail address but I haven't got his, so maybe it will never happen.
Sorry we didn't manage to meet up NSFN, we made it as far as Conwy, but had little time there.
We were a little stretched, since my brother is diabetic and my dh needs regular meals too, so we needed to be at regular watering holes at regular times

harrisey · 01/10/2007 18:13

Ah yes - its the West Coast of Scotland people.

PandaG · 01/10/2007 18:46

JUst wanted to say - Harrisey adn Rosey, fab posts on the Civil Partnership dilemma thread. Is a fab debate, and people do seem to be listening to each other. Thank God

I've had a really productive day, managed to get a lot done round the house, feeling lighter in my spirit. Tidier house makes me happier too

CaptainDippy · 01/10/2007 18:49

You are an amazing mum, NQGU!

Off out to do some English tutoring in a sec, so "see" you later, I expect ......

OP posts:
harrisey · 01/10/2007 19:06

Thanks PandaG. I feel like I am actually making a bit of sense for once!

Its something we have thought a lot about due to my family situation and friends having a CP recently, so for once I can be coherent!

harrisey · 01/10/2007 19:07

NQGU - I have the little girl with the little curl in our house at the moment. You never know what is coming next.

Mind you, it is me that has the curl!

pepperpots · 01/10/2007 19:11

After your kind words last time and i hope you don't mind but i'm back

I need your prayers to keep me going and keep my chun up, today another of my friends has announced she is pg really want to be pleased and i am but can't help wanting it to be me sorry to sound selfish.

Love to all

pepperpots · 01/10/2007 19:12

chin also pray for my ability to spell

harrisey · 01/10/2007 19:13

Will pray.

Chun up, pp

pepperpots · 01/10/2007 19:14

thank you harrisey that will teach me to preview first

Roseylea · 01/10/2007 19:52

I'll pary, Pepperpots. It must be so hard; I saw so many of my friends get married and I sooo wanted to find Mr Right (sorry, apologies to all the feminists! ) and so I guess I can imagine a bit of how you must feel.

Well I told my colleague today that I'm "almost certainly" leaving at Christmas! I feel very peaceful about that decision and more so since I told her.

Oooh and please could you pray for the school's (i.e. my workplace's) christian club, which I am sort of co-running (it's v. informal and relationship-based so no long sermon prep for me!) ...aggh lost myself in that long sentence there - try again - we are having the first meeting of the term tomorrow. There are about five kids interested in coming along. Each one comes with heavier burdens than 14 y os should have to carry. Please pray for them, and us as we try to share with them the love and transforming power of God.

NSFN _ terrible news about the SA man .

Roseylea · 01/10/2007 19:52

Podmog, I know how awful it is to be the subject of gossip. You've done nothing wrong though and shouldn't have to justify yourself. I hope and pray that the vicar can sort something out and settle the tensions. I don't know how you deal with the people who are like this, but hold your head up high, and look them in the eye and remember that God is your judge not them, and it is more important that you are "right" with him, than these vicious busybodies who have nothing better to do with their lives than bring others down.

Matthew, Mark AND Luke refer to this (and you know its important when you find it in THREE gospels!), but I'll quote from Mark:

"If any of you put a stumbling-block before one of these little ones who believe in me, it would be better for you if a great millstone were hung around your neck and you were thrown into the sea. "

For me, "little ones" doesn't just mean children, or new Christians, it means those who are struggling for whatever reason, who want to follow Christ and lead a Christian life, but are having obstacles thrown in their path by those who SHOULD know better...

God bless

Mary

Hurrah - has taken me age to upload the bit of the screen where you can actually post messages!

Tiiiired and stressed, but ok ...... please sleep, baby, please .....

{{{{{{{pepperpots}}}}}}} I don't think what you are feeling is unreasonable and something to feel bad or guilty about - I think if I was in the same situation as you, I'd feel pretty ] that my friend was PG and I wasn't so lots of {{{{{hugs}}} to you honey - and don't feel bad - be honest!

Rosey - Praying for the Christian School's Club, esp for the burdened young people that go, so , but so [happy] you can make a difference. I used to run our lunchtime Christian Club at school when I was in the 6th form - I used to get about 15 regulars - all the "undesirables" - those who were bullied, had SN, behavioural problems etc - All the people Jesus would go to It has hard work, but sooooo worth it, v.rewarding!

{{{{{{Podmog}}}}}}} Great you have an understanding vicar, cont to pray through this situation for you sweetie - keep ranting here!! xxxx

P has VERY bad dribble rash under her chin Please pray it heals & she rests longer today.

OP posts:
DutchOma · 02/10/2007 09:38

Glad to have your post CD. Is there any chance you could find one of those nappy inlays that let water through on one side but not let it come back? And tie it to P's front so she keeps dry.
I'm not explaining it very well and don't know if dd has the 'modern' equivalent for it.
I still had a few of mine, if you like I will hunt for it and send them on. They came from Mothercare, but a long time ago.
Podmog, praying that you will really be able to 'fix your eyes upon Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith'.

Please keep praying for Mummy2TandF whose life is still very difficult.

CaptainDippy · 02/10/2007 09:48

Thank you DO - if you can find a couple, they would be much appreciated - poor mite, it is REALLY bad! How are you today anyway DO?

OP posts:
PandaG · 02/10/2007 09:59

POdmog - sounds like you r vicar is being helpful and supportive. Praying that you do continue to be calm in the midst of your anxiety, and that this meeting can take place so you can move forward. We continue to be here for you. xx

Hi Panda!

OP posts:
bobsmum · 02/10/2007 10:27

Dutch Oma - It was me!!!!!You met Adrian and Hilary!!

They are such a fab couple - really took dh under their wings when he was going through some horrible stuff and started praying he'd find a wife. Then I appeared

Adrian prayed for us at our wedding and we've been to stay with them a couple of times in Bala - so welcoming and restful.

It was partly our experience in Bala that inspired us to offer up our house as a rest/retreat space for anyone who wanted to escape for whatever reason.

But what was Adrian doing in a a white robe - the mind boggles!!

I'll get dh to email them tonight and explain the mystery We're hoping they'll be able to get a chance a to come and stay with us sometime - but they're soooo busy with work church and oodles of grandchildren!

2 of their children are working with the Message Trust (remember the World Wide Massage Tribe - cringe!!) in Manchester - where Christians move into depressed and deprived council estates and strive to be salt and light in the community. Inspiring work!

Such a small, small world!
