Having a drink at lunchtime with two of my favourite people.
Having a warm pretzel from a take away stand.

I love pretzels. I haven't made any for ages but I taught my dd and she makes them sometimes.

Having grown up kids (I don't even have to do much of the baking any more)
Time with said grown up kids
My dd has organised for all my children to come home for mother's Day, because it will be hard for me this year. I'm grateful that my children are all considerate and compassionate and will take time out their lives to support me and my dad.

I’ve had my haircut today and my hairdresser is lovely- really calming.
Heard from a friend that I’ve not heard from in a while.

A sociable cinema visit with friends to see an excellent film (Dark Waters)
Getting lots of little jobs ticked off the to-do list
Warm and cosy home

Thinking - oh I’ll take my brollie just in case then it belting down with rain all afternoon.

Dd got a good report at parents evening.

The lovely little blue tits nesting in our garden

We have signs of spring in the garden, including frogspawn in the tiny pond/ wet area we have.

My new nail varnish which I’m going to use tonight after dc in bed. It’s a lovely purple shade.

Dtortoise has woken up from hibernation.
Dsis has a new job.

I am happy today and thankful for
My 3 sons, upstairs chilling out and not down here driving me nuts
My husband, upstairs asleep and not driving me nuts
My puppy, occupied with a Bone and not driving me nuts
My mother, not currently speaking so not driving me nuts

Housework done, time to chill, happy days

Today I grateful for the dry weather.
The lovely toastie I had for breakfast.
Lots of birds on the bird feeders this morning.

Mama, that made me smile. I used to love the very odd bit of peace in the house when my 5 were young.

Robins making a nest/ looking for food in the garden.
Dh hurt himself today and it could have been nasty. Thankfully it wasn’t.

The magnolia is flowering.
Got shopping coming today.

The worrying things that dominate our news media can be made to recede by enjoying the many signs of spring in and around my garden

Watching a wee flock of sparrows bathing in a big puddle across the road
A lovely visit from DS3 and his partner yesterday
We are still able to help a lot of people at foodbank, thanks to the generosity of others.

Being able to share their joy
