First of all we want to give thanks for Peter's new heart and keep praying for Misdee (LadyVictoriaOfCake), the three girls and the extended family. Pray for continuing healing and a full recovery.

In tension with that we pray for Onlyjoking and Steve and their three children, together with Steve's mother and his (twin) brother. Let us commit them in prayer to the God of miracles and of blessing. Pray that they will find help in the most unexpected places and that the 'peace of God which passes all understanding' will fill their heart.

Prayers for CaptainCaveman in a difficult situation with dsis in hospital. Praying for grace to cope from day to day with issues that are longstanding and unresolved. Prayer for restful nights and an deliverance from panic attacks.
Give thanks for an understanding manager at work.

CaptainDippy gives thanks for dh's new job, which is going well so far and for Phoebe sleeping through the night. Prayers to cope with all the stress of having three 'ickle pickles'.

Harrisey - thanks for a holiday that was better than expected. Thanks for a smooth start to school for ds. Prayers for dh, proper adjustment of medication and for an end to H's migraine.

We pray for MaryBS for a wonderful time on holiday also for Mufti. NASWM (Losty) Let's give thanks that she is getting better, although she is nowhere near well. Hoping to be discharged in September. Pray for the necessary help to be found. (Thanks to DumbledoresGirl for the update). If possible post a message on the thread. here
NotSoFarNow Pray for her as she continues to adjust to life without husband. Pray for relationships with her family and for the new beginnings that may be possible. Pray for wisdom in the situation.

PandaG Pray for her and her friends who are moving away leaving a void.

QueenofQuotes Give thanks with her for an improving relationship with dh. Pray for the older dss that they may find time to have some Christian teaching as well as sport on a Sunday.

Roseylea gives thanks for the wonderful wedding of fil and for good conversations with dh. Pray for this to continue so that all issues may be resolved. Pray also for recovery from cold and protection from threatened Crohn's attack.

Xaviella has seen the end of her relationship in the last week. Pray for the peace of God to surround her and her family as she adjusts to life on her own

ZipadySuzy is back after a wonderful lady at the library gave her a computer. Unfortunately all stuff from her old computer has been lost at the repairers.
Pray that she will be able to pace herself

Thanks for all the good wishes and prayers for L. I know she'd apprecaite it enormously x

CaptainDippy · 02/09/2007 09:19

No worries SG - Do pop in and update on the situation when you can!

DutchOma · 02/09/2007 10:50

Dippy, one picture I always find very helpful is the one of the blackbird under the net:- Imagine a blackbird which has become trapped under a net that has been spread over the strawberries. The more it struggles, (ie drag myself out of it) the more it gets entangled. If it sits still, well, the sun may be shining and ...all the strawberries are under the net. Be still and know that I am God

Hello all!

Hope you are all having lovely Sundays! And welcome to Shreksmissus - what a fabulous part of the UK to live in, you lucky thing! Hope you get lots of support from this thread.

Wow Mufti at your pastor on the telly! I don't think we get that channel - do you know how it went?

Podglet so glad that your dp was supportive about the pg. We sang that song at church this morning "Blessed be your name" by Matt Redman (or is it Rhett Madman?) with those words "You give and take away, You give and take away, my heart will choose to say, Lord blessed be your name".

Well I am feeling quite a bit better - hooray! I didn't get on here to post this but I was supposed to be going on a mini break to Bournemouth with the dc ad various members of the extended family. Well because of my disgusting chest infection I wasn't able to go, but my mum and the others took the dc anyway, had a wonderful time, and guess what I did? (A clue: It starts with 'S' and rhymes with 'beep')

So I am feeling much brighter, but still pretty lousy and in a bit of a tizz trying to work out whether I'm well enough to go back to work tomorrow (start of new term). My parents, dh etc ec are all saying "No! You're not well enough!" but the thought of taking time off in the first week of term is pretty aaaggghhh as well. Please pray that I come to the best decision and that I have peace about whatever ends up happening this week. My theme atm is "Do not worry" - God is saying this to me in soooooooo many different ways.

Well I feel a cup of tea coming on! CD love, are you okay? Please let us know if we canpray for you specifically. And say Hi to Mary from me!

mufti · 02/09/2007 16:24

hey rosey, it was just half an hour, previously recorded, from a church in stoke, the pastor is called trevor newport who has visited our church.
mike is on there again next sunday, same time, he is a great preacher
its number 765 on sky
i love that song too, even though it sometimes makes me teary.
so glad you are feeling better

sandcastles · 02/09/2007 16:24

I want to give thank for my neice. Some of you may have read my posts in Dec last year saying that at 18 she suffered a miscarriage at 23 weeks.

She is expecting again, this time planned & is around 30 weeks. All progressing well, as far as I know.

Thanks to everyone for their support last year & prayers for the remaining weeks she has to go.

CaptainDippy · 02/09/2007 18:34

Evening!

Good to "see" you again Sandcastles - wonderful news about your niece - Do report back when she has the wee one, would lovely to share in her joy in some small way! Praise God - So many Beans atm, how exciting!

Glad you are feling a bit better rosey - I personally don't think you should go back to work either - You'll just make yourself more ill again and end up having to take more time off that you would have had to, iyswim!!? I do understand your hesistation though as it is the beginning of term etc; but surely they will understand!!? Get yourself completely beter before diving into everything again ......

Ahem.

Mummy bit over!

Thank you for the picture DO - mmmmmmm, strawberries ....... I find it sooooooooo hard to just "rest" in God's prescence, even if I am not racing round like a Headless Chicken, my mind is ........ .......

Hi mufti!

Off to rescue DH - he is in the bath with all 3 girlies .........

MaryBS · 02/09/2007 19:25

Hi,

I'm back after a LOVELY holiday!

Am feeling stressed already though - I've only been back 5 mins, see M. down the shops, apparently something I arranged while I was away caused problems. Am feeling tired from the journey, and don't need this!

Sorry [hmmm] I know others have a lot more on their plates than me, but having been away for 2 weeks, and thought on things I really want to give up my course, but I feel (no, I know) God is telling me not to, and I SO want to do what His will is! Not only that, but having been away and gone to churches where I'm not known, I feel like finding a new church too!

{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}

worzella · 02/09/2007 22:51

Hi everyone - hope you make the right decision re school Rosey. My eye is better and so I will be back at work on Tues... after just over a year off on mat leave.

The matt redman song always makes me cry too - especially the lines that go '...blessed be your name on the road marked with suffering...' I think it came out at the time when we'd had mc number 3 and I was really desperate. I howled through most church services and most certainly could not see God in the situation. (Apparently Matt Redman had written it when he and his wife had had a miscarriage.)

Now when I am tearing my hair out in church running after 3 DCs (age 5,2 and 1)I have a wry smile to myself about God's faithfulness.

Anyway - must go to bed....

MaryBS · 03/09/2007 07:51

I need to catch up on here...

DS has got his appt come through for the paed on 14 Sept. I guess that is preying on me a bit (OK a LOT!). It'll give me chance to raise some of my concerns about him (like his irrational fears, of which there are many). I can't help worrying that they'll find something wrong with him...

ZipadiSuzy · 03/09/2007 08:53

Mary - welcome back, its seems ages since you went on holiday, glad you enjoyed yourself and felt uplifted by visiting different churches prayers for ds appointment, I do hope he gets help and support for his needs.

Finished twins bedroom, they are delighted and stayed in their room ALL night!

CaptainDippy · 03/09/2007 09:29

CaptainCaveman · 03/09/2007 10:00

Welcome Shreksmissus and Commanderchaos, lovely to have you join our thread .

I live in Nottingham with dh and ds (3.4). Oh my word, how did he get to be 3.4

Praise that Worz and Rosey are both feeling better, and continued prayers for you Rosey with your chest. Prayers for you Worz for your first day back at work!

Welcome home Mary, it feels like you've been away ages. How were your hols?

Another beautiful day, glorious sunshine and I'm at home studying so will have to venture outside to read! Very exciting text book to plough through "management and financial accounting" woo and indeed hoo

Must share this with you - I took ds to the car wash on saturday, and just as the brushes were starting up he turns to me in all seriousness and says
"mummy, are we not farting around now?"
hmmmm, I've asked dh to be a little more choosy with his choice of phrase!!

CaptainCaveman · 03/09/2007 10:01

Hey CD - I just posted those things to you this morning so hoping you'll get them tomorrow. x

CaptainDippy · 03/09/2007 10:46

Ooooh, thank you CC - I hope you are writing all these phrases down from your little man - You could publish a book - he is halarious! Hope you get lots of lovely studying done today!!

LOL @ "woo and indeed hoo"

podglet · 03/09/2007 11:25

Oh CC, DP has had to read all that sort of thing for his CIMA exams. It is thrilling stuff isn't it? enjoy the sunshine though!

Good luck to Worz on your first day back and I hope Rosey that you haven't gone back and are waiting til you are back to 100% first.

Welcome back Mary, glad you enjoyed your hols

Not sure how much I will be around over the next couple of weeks as this is the beginning of my "mad" week or two. I will return as soon as broadband is connected at the new house. Wish me luck and praying that you are all well and happy.

Roseylea · 03/09/2007 12:08

Hello all!

Yes I am at home! I've phoned work and had long apologetic phone calls.

Podglet I hope your mad few weeks go well, and that you know God's presence in the midst of the chaos!

Welcome home Mary! eeekkk - how well I know about coming home from a holiday only to be bombarded with stuff to deal with - not nice. In a funny way, it shows M's faith in you as a person that he shares all this with you - so it is a vote of confidence.

Hi CCM! Hope your accountancy reading doesn't bore the pants off you too much!

And I'll be thikning of Mrs Worzella as you go back to work (you could get your classes to call you that!)

Hi Sooz - I've been meaning to ask - how's your dh's gardening business going?

Well I am okay - still full of infection, and feeling frustrated and fed up with it. I have been indoors for over a week now, except to go to the docs and to church - that's not good, is it? So please do pray that this nasty infection will be over soon.

well I have heard a christian song that I really like so I thought I'd link to it (last time I did this it turned out there was an inappropriate comment on the page so I do apologise now if there's anything offensive lurking here! It's based on verses from Isaiah 40 (verses 28 - 31), verese which mean a lot to me esp. atm as I'm feeling lousy...The song is quite funky!

The Lord is the everlasting God
The Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no-one can fathom.
He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary
and young people stumble and fall,
but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
THey will soar on wings like eagles
they will run and not grow weary
they will walk and not be faint.

everlasting God

CaptainDippy · 03/09/2007 12:16

Fantastic & Funky, Rosey - Thank you for sharing! Glad you are at home - now take the time you need to fully recover! > Praying for the infection to leave your body!!!

Hi sandcastles (no worries chick ) and hi DO!!

Gotta buzz ..... gotta give DD2 lunch and race down to collect DD1 from nursery - no car today!!!! Eeeeeeek!!

ZipadiSuzy · 03/09/2007 12:48

Roseylea - Hia, lovely song, even my ds 11yo came to listen, obviously his type of music (beat) now all I need to do is get him to listen to the words

more {{{{{{{{wagging finger}}}}}}}} agree with CD - take care and GET BETTER!

Thanks for enquiring, dh gardening job going magnificently!!!!!! too well infact, is there a catch? nope! just all hard work, and to think that we could now move house anywhere in the country and just set up again, leaves me all excited, less hemmed in. "Praise the good lord" we feel very blessed.

CD - How are you atm, I have been praying for your tireness and being fed up, you have my full sympathy having no vehicle, we have to walk everywhere, takes us an hour to walk home from nursery [frustration] argh! that starts again this week!

ZipadiSuzy · 03/09/2007 12:58

Shreksmum and sandcastle - hia, I'm Soozi 46 next week, dh 54, ds 11yo and twins 4 in oct b/g

Baby prayers for both of you and your families, keep us posted, lots of baby prayers atm - arh lovely lovely!

CD - Is 'P' still transfixed or will she settle while you play on mn?

just remembered, have no trainers and footy boots for ds1, starts year 7 tomorrow, panic stations, no car, 3 kiddies on bus into town!!!!! oh and havent sewn name tags on uniform, I feel permanent marker pen coming to hand, flap flap flap! no wonder he's on edge!

See you later ladies.

ZipadiSuzy · 03/09/2007 16:00

Sorry I know you are all busy, but I have just found out that my ds1 is in the same class as the 2 bullies that have bullied him for the last year, how can the last school do this to him, he needs a break, no wonder he is going crazy, I am furious GRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Thing is, ds is not going to own up this time, cause he knows how cross I am and that the first sign of trouble I'll be at school in a flash, I was a wimp at the last school and didn't deal with it properly cause I can't cope with confrontation! I just get angry and cry!!!!!!! so I ignore things, but the school was aware of the bullying so WHY!!!! I am soooooo upset, I just want ds to get on with his school work, its difficult for him as it is.

Sorry Sorry Sorry, rant over, but I am so cross at previous school, surely they have communication with next school!
