First of all we want to give thanks for Peter's new heart and keep praying for Misdee (LadyVictoriaOfCake), the three girls and the extended family. Pray for continuing healing and a full recovery.

In tension with that we pray for Onlyjoking and Steve and their three children, together with Steve's mother and his (twin) brother. Let us commit them in prayer to the God of miracles and of blessing. Pray that they will find help in the most unexpected places and that the 'peace of God which passes all understanding' will fill their heart.

Prayers for CaptainCaveman in a difficult situation with dsis in hospital. Praying for grace to cope from day to day with issues that are longstanding and unresolved. Prayer for restful nights and an deliverance from panic attacks.
Give thanks for an understanding manager at work.

CaptainDippy gives thanks for dh's new job, which is going well so far and for Phoebe sleeping through the night. Prayers to cope with all the stress of having three 'ickle pickles'.

Harrisey - thanks for a holiday that was better than expected. Thanks for a smooth start to school for ds. Prayers for dh, proper adjustment of medication and for an end to H's migraine.

We pray for MaryBS for a wonderful time on holiday also for Mufti. NASWM (Losty) Let's give thanks that she is getting better, although she is nowhere near well. Hoping to be discharged in September. Pray for the necessary help to be found. (Thanks to DumbledoresGirl for the update). If possible post a message on the thread. here
NotSoFarNow Pray for her as she continues to adjust to life without husband. Pray for relationships with her family and for the new beginnings that may be possible. Pray for wisdom in the situation.

PandaG Pray for her and her friends who are moving away leaving a void.

Podglet Pray that the house situation may be resolved very speedily

QueenofQuotes Give thanks with her for an improving relationship with dh. Pray for the older dss that they may find time to have some Christian teaching as well as sport on a Sunday.

Roseylea gives thanks for the wonderful wedding of fil and for good conversations with dh. Pray for this to continue so that all issues may be resolved. Pray also for recovery from cold and protection from threatened Crohn's attack.

Xaviella has seen the end of her relationship in the last week. Pray for the peace of God to surround her and her family as she adjusts to life on her own

ZipadySuzy is back after a wonderful lady at the library gave her a computer. Unfortunately all stuff from her old computer has been lost at the repairers.
Pray that she will be able to pace herself

Also remember Katz NQGU and Worzella.

Finally:- Give thanks to the Lord always. Rejoice in the Lord always. God is great. ..all the time

I thought Mormons were the Latter Day Saints, not 7th day Adventists?

Hope and pray everyone on good form today (sneaking on at work)

DutchOma · 05/09/2007 14:06

Mary is right, they are quite different. From the most cursory glance at 7thDA's website it shows that they are fundamental Bible believing Christians.
Mormons have their own Bible with bits added on and taken out, they are also known as the church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints. I know a bit about them because we had one of their members as an exchange pupil from America with my brother. He came back as an elder and so we found out quite a bit about their beliefs.
Basically though I don't think they are Christians.

Just a quickie! hia all, prayers for all requests will catch up later, taken me 40 mins to read threads and e-mails now ran out of time to post personally to everyone!

MaryBS · 05/09/2007 15:13

If you don't mind the fact the website is slightly irreverent, this website gives a light-hearted summary of each religion/denomination:

CaptainDippy · 05/09/2007 19:22

Whoops! Sorry nqgu!

MarsLady · 05/09/2007 19:55

Well.... another prayer of thanks and praise.

The strike is off. DD travelled in to school with a lovely Prefect and has made friends with a lovely Y7 girl who she'll travel in with so that the Y7 girl learns the route.

Could you pray that I sort all my paperwork out? I have to do a profit and loss projection (bleurghhhhhhhh) and I'm trying to decide whether it would be worth getting an account (which I don't think I can afford).

Thanking you!

CaptainCaveman · 05/09/2007 20:04

hey girls, have added another piccie to my profile page which includes my face (not that you want to see it!) but it isn't too clear so probably for the best....

praying for you all

CaptainCaveman · 05/09/2007 20:21

Hi Shreksmissus, praying for a peaceful time for you and your dd.

Just re-read my last post....I'm not praying for you because you might look at my picture on my profile page!! Perhaps I should

MaryBS · 05/09/2007 20:21

DO - meant to say, yes its the same tutor, which is why I'm stressing out!

SM - yes it sounds like just a phase, the bad news is there'll probably be more of them. I found that with my two, the "new" phase tended to start at the same time as some sort of developmental growth - so see if she's learning any new "tricks"

Prayers said for all... having trouble keeping track of everything atm!

notsofarnow · 05/09/2007 21:12

hmmm don't know whats matter with me this eve xh is here as ds first day at nursery tomorrow and only way he can see him go is to stay here tonight.

Just feel like getting them all in from school and giving them tea is actually worse than them being off. Just feel totally overwhelmed and like my house is never going to be tidy again. babies bedroom looks like a bomb has hit it.

Friend says I shouldn't let xh stay bec he winds me up - I just don't know what to do he is constantly moaning that he's got no money and is never going to have any - but in all fairness he knew that before he moved out. I just feel like its my fault for taking mortgage money off him. How do I spend less so that he can have more money. I hate seeing him in a tiny bedsit but don't know what to do to change it.

flaming heck why does life have to be so hard when other people are rolling in it and have life all sorted.

ZipadiSuzy · 05/09/2007 22:47

NSFN - I bet everybody just likes to think they are rolling in it, bet they don't sleep at night with credit card debts, so try not to be too hard on yourself, look how far you have come, proud of what you have achieved, I think xh probably showing a little emotional blackmail here, everybody has choices in life he's made his you have made yours, keep strong, hows your dd I remember a while ago she was struggling, is she more settled now? tell me to shut up if I'm twaddling

CC - Fab photos, lo really growing up, must visit you soon at church one Sunday, twins loved it last time, oh sorry, seem to have my rose tinted glasses on there for a moment, just remembered dd paddy can't believe they are 4 in October, seems a life sentence ah my little angels

ZipadiSuzy · 05/09/2007 22:55

shreksmissus - sorry its tough atm, I promise as soon as they hit 3 it changes, somehow reasoning comes into play, I nearly had a nervous breakdown with the twins behaviour and sleep patterns, it does get better/different prayers for a better day tomorrow.

Sorry just got to share this with you all, but DS1 who's just started in year 7 had drama today and they were all blind folded in pairs and my ds and his partner had to moo to find each other and the 2 bullies that ds has had previous problems with had to cry like babies to find each other

sorry for gloating I know, I know very un-christian of me to laugh. I will improve my forgiveness and pray for bullies

ZipadiSuzy · 05/09/2007 23:01

Marslady - profit loss projection good luck and prayers for ......... success

CD - hia, howz thing today, I know you are busy and tired, prayers for your strength and peace

Mary - Thank you for your support, take care of 'YOURSELF' {{{{{{{wags finger}}}}}}} take it easy put ya feet up and have a 'Dippy' Hot Chocolate

ZipadiSuzy · 05/09/2007 23:02

I'm talking to myself whats new

Night God Bless

CaptainCaveman · 06/09/2007 07:38

Hey Sooz! You'd be welcome anytime at StPauls so put your rose tinted specs back on . During prayers last week one of the lo's shouted PANTS really loud. Hee hee, twas funny .

MaryBS · 06/09/2007 08:26

Just wanted to share a passage, which is really helping me at the moment:

1 Cor 1:26-31

26 Consider your own call, brothers and sisters: not many of you were wise by human standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth.

27 But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong;

28 God chose what is low and despised in the world, things that are not, to reduce to nothing things that are,

29 so that no one might boast in the presence of God.

30 He is the source of your life in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification and redemption,

31 in order that, as it is written, ?Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.?

DutchOma · 06/09/2007 10:49

That's a lovely passage, Mary. Will keep on praying for your tutor on the lines you gave me earlier.
Remember, whenever you speak to him: you are the daughter of a King and not any old King either. No doubt he will have 'issues' in his life, but he has the care of your education and a responsibility to discharge. And whatever he thinks of you and your essays:- God loves you and that in the end is all that matters. There may just be an element in which God wants to teach you that.
I'll be curious to know how it goes.
How is everybody else this morning?
My dd is tons better since she started co-sleeping again, there was actually a smile on her face yesterday.

Hello! JUst a v. quick hi as I'm off to pick up ds from his first day at nursery soon!

Just wanted to say, I'm feeling quite a bit better..."Getting there" as the phrase goes!

Notquitegrownup · 06/09/2007 14:28

Just a quick hello from me. Feeling very very sleepy today. Zzzzzzzzz.

Isn't your dd a little old to be co-sleeping with you now DO??! Glad that things are better for her though. Sleep deprivation is just soooo awful.

God bless all.

DutchOma · 06/09/2007 14:39

Ooooh..wicked nqgu

OP posts:
notsofarnow · 06/09/2007 16:14

ds first day in nursery today too. He loved it. Just a shame that it's four days till he next goes. Then he can go all day if I pay £7 an afternoon. at thought of being child free allllll day and that its £7 a day probably won't be able to afford it.

notsofarnow · 06/09/2007 21:33

gosh where is everyone this evening?

MaryBS · 06/09/2007 22:04

LOL NQGU!!!

We've been to Peterborough this evening to buy DD some shoes, as we couldn't buy any nice ones locally. She's got a pair of those with a tiny doll in the heel, that you can take out and play with. Apparently they're all the rage amongst her friends! Then we went to Pizza Hut afterwards - I feel bloated after another cookie dough dessert. DD and DS ate over half of it though! If you get the chance you MUST try it!

NSFN - if you can find the money somewhere, I'd definitely go "child-free". I think you could use the time to find yourself again. You've been SO brave and SO strong these past few months... maybe spend some time in quiet reflection so you can find yourself and just "chat" to God, either on your own, or in prayer with someone? Would do you good! {hugs}

Another verse which "grabbed" me today:

Proverbs 30:5
5 Every word of God proves true;
he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.

Finally, a prayer:

Proverbs 30:7-9

7 Two things I ask of you;
do not deny them to me before I die:
8 Remove far from me falsehood and lying;
give me neither poverty nor riches;
feed me with the food that I need,
9 or I shall be full, and deny you,
and say, ?Who is the Lord??
or I shall be poor, and steal,
and profane the name of my God.

notsofarnow · 06/09/2007 22:23

now you've made me all sad. Thing is if he did go all day then time is spoken for anyway. Monday work, Tues free unless I go back to old hours, wed half day p.m swimming lesson, thurs am dog obedience class p.m parenting course, fri food shopping at some point.

Just feel there going to be no time to do anything. aghhhhhh Flaming heck
