First of all we want to give thanks for Peter's new heart and keep praying for Misdee (LadyVictoriaOfCake), the three girls and the extended family. Pray for continuing healing and a full recovery.

In tension with that we pray for Onlyjoking and Steve and their three children, together with Steve's mother and his (twin) brother. Let us commit them in prayer to the God of miracles and of blessing. Pray that they will find help in the most unexpected places and that the 'peace of God which passes all understanding' will fill their heart.

Prayers for CaptainCaveman in a difficult situation with dsis in hospital. Praying for grace to cope from day to day with issues that are longstanding and unresolved. Prayer for restful nights and an deliverance from panic attacks.
Give thanks for an understanding manager at work.

CaptainDippy gives thanks for dh's new job, which is going well so far and for Phoebe sleeping through the night. Prayers to cope with all the stress of having three 'ickle pickles'.

Harrisey - thanks for a holiday that was better than expected. Thanks for a smooth start to school for ds. Prayers for dh, proper adjustment of medication and for an end to H's migraine.

We pray for MaryBS for a wonderful time on holiday also for Mufti. NASWM (Losty) Let's give thanks that she is getting better, although she is nowhere near well. Hoping to be discharged in September. Pray for the necessary help to be found. (Thanks to DumbledoresGirl for the update). If possible post a message on the thread. here
NotSoFarNow Pray for her as she continues to adjust to life without husband. Pray for relationships with her family and for the new beginnings that may be possible. Pray for wisdom in the situation.

PandaG Pray for her and her friends who are moving away leaving a void.

Podglet Pray that the house situation may be resolved very speedily

QueenofQuotes Give thanks with her for an improving relationship with dh. Pray for the older dss that they may find time to have some Christian teaching as well as sport on a Sunday.

Roseylea gives thanks for the wonderful wedding of fil and for good conversations with dh. Pray for this to continue so that all issues may be resolved. Pray also for recovery from cold and protection from threatened Crohn's attack.

Xaviella has seen the end of her relationship in the last week. Pray for the peace of God to surround her and her family as she adjusts to life on her own

ZipadySuzy is back after a wonderful lady at the library gave her a computer. Unfortunately all stuff from her old computer has been lost at the repairers.
Pray that she will be able to pace herself

Also remember Katz NQGU and Worzella.

Finally:- Give thanks to the Lord always. Rejoice in the Lord always. God is great. ..all the time

Prayers for all those involved in accidents and hold ups last night, especially those on the bus that turned over, (mindless drink driver) god protect everyone on the roads today, and help drivers think about their intake of achohol before driving.

CD - prayers for your bf and her pregnancy, how is she?

Notquitegrownup · 04/09/2007 08:35

Good morning all.

Praying for your ds today, specially Sooz.

Prayers for your bf too CD.

God bless

DutchOma · 04/09/2007 08:51

I think only joking's ds is going to a new school today as well, so prayers in that direction too.
Soozy, sorry to nag sweetheart, but I do think it would be better to talk to the head of year before there is trouble, just to share your concerns in a, can't think of the word, calm, non-troubled way. You have nothing to apologise for, you're not 'chicken' to leave it, but ...teachers are people too and need to know the potential for trouble before it arises.
The times I've found my ds with his hands through the opening at the cuffs because he couldn't get them through the proper hole and couldn't do the cuff buttons done and undone. Don't know how we got round the tie issue, I think his dad taught him.
The overturned bus was near Newport Pagnell, down the road from us, but I haven't heard the news this morning.
Glad your dh got home safe Mufti, I had a couple of rattly nights but, thank God slept better and are quite breezy this morning.
Any news of your bf CD?

BF is fine, still having pains, don't think the baby will be too much longer. She's going for a scan as they decided the baby seemed a little small (she's massive - just fluid??) Thank you for prayers - she is ok for now, please pray Beanie stays in a while longer yet as she is only 34 wks and has 3 other children at home ....

Love and {{{{{{hugs}}}}} to all - off to work all day and outlaws coming for dinner tonight as it is FIL's Birthday so might now be back til tomorrow ......

ZipadiSuzy · 04/09/2007 10:14

I didn't realise how many virtual friends I have on mn that replied to my upset yesterday so thank you all for your support, mufti, worzella, dutchOma, roseylea, NQGU, CD,CC, PandaG, NSFN, MaryBS.

Please forgive me if I have forgotton anybody, I know there is more, but gosh hasn't this thread grown in the last year, prayers for you all whatever your lifestyle, however big or small your pray request is.

Love to you all

I feel a lot better today, but still in a quandry whether to mention to school, it may be that everything will blow over and the children have grown up, but I just ain't good at 'speaking' I can talk for england, but 'speaking'

Anyway must go and tidy up before mother arrives

Notquitegrownup · 04/09/2007 11:14

Hi Sooz

Glad that you are feeling a bit better. Hopefully ds will have had a good day.

I would ask to have a word with his head of year at the end of the week. That way you are not rushing in on the first day, you can calmly make an appointment and just let them know that there is some "history" here, so that if any problems occur in future, then you won't have to go over it all again if you are feeling upset.

You could go to the class teacher, who is involved everyday, but the Head of Year is given time to talk to parents - it's part of their job - and s/he is a bit more at a distance too so that your son won't be worried that you have spoken to his teacher too soon.

ZipadiSuzy · 04/09/2007 12:15

NQGU - thank you, yes I may do as you suggest, good idea for me to 'get over it' first!

Well ds will be home in an hour, they all start back properly tomorrow, just settle with tutor, familiarise their surroundings and fetch their planners and timetable, plus stay for lunch today, etc...

Twins been lovely this morning, thank you god for a bit of light relief there.

Time to move on soozi

Might start decorating hall stairs and landing today! rip the wallpaper off! actually havent finished twins room entirely, still got a few finishing touches to do.

Then its off to work tonight! busy busy busy!

I just want to say RIP Jane Tomlinson
A truly inspirational lady. God be with her family

notsofarnow · 04/09/2007 18:11

Whats happened?

MaryBS · 04/09/2007 19:35

She's the lady that raised over a million for charity since being told she had months to live, 7 years ago.

Jane Tomlinson

CaptainCaveman · 04/09/2007 19:42

Good evening ladies, hope you're all ok?

Sooz how was ds' day at school?

Jane Tomlinson was the lady who raised 2 million for charities despite suffering from cancer for past 7 years. She died yesterday (? or today?). May she rest in the Lords arms and God comfort her family.

Nice early night I think tonight, after a little 'light' studying.....

MaryBS · 04/09/2007 19:43

I'm going to start my next essay tonight - lots of background reading first, I think...

Anyone have any useful info on either Archbishop Laud, or George Herbert (just thought it was worth asking...)

Roseylea · 04/09/2007 20:39

Mary:

voila!

et voila!

et voila!

I know you could have found these yourself easily, but sometimes it's nice to have a "researcher" working for you, eh? I'll e-mail you soon...

Love to everyone xxx

notsofarnow · 04/09/2007 21:36

Right girls going to post this on here as well seems that no one is taking any notice of it on products.

Today ds wet the bed so I unsip waterproof cover and throw it in the wash, go to put it back on and feel wet on my arm on investigating further i feel underneath the matress that is still in the plastic cover - (plastic underneath and sides and waterproof/breathable cover on top.) and its wet and full of black mould.

I feel really quilty seems his chest has been crap for the last 12 months. Don't know what has caused this wetness but its groase.

Go check your cot cotbed mattresses girls - I only found it by chance, lord knows who else is affected or maybe its just me and something i've done wrong. I just don't understand it.

DutchOma · 04/09/2007 21:53

Has he got somewhere to sleep? What a horrible discovery

OP posts:
MaryBS · 04/09/2007 23:36

Ew Ew Ew! NSFN I've never heard of anything like that happening! Don't be too hard on yourself, I can't see it as being something that you'd think to check for!

Rosey - thanks for your contributions, I think I'd discovered them. What I'm REALLY interested in is the relevance for today's society... the exact essay title is:

"Your Church has decided to have a series of reflections on some of the figures revered in the Common Worship Calendar. Prepare a short reflection on two of the following, highlighting why they were significant in their own time and what they contribute to Christian understanding and practice today. William Laud; George Herbert; Thomas Cranmer; Richard Baxter; William Tyndale; Richard Hooker."

FWIW I'm glad I didn't pick Richard Baxter. One of the other trainees has picked him, and finding him a REAL struggle! At least Laud and Herbert have something going for them (especially Herbert)

BTW I PROMISE I'll catch up on praying, I'm well aware I've been a bit lax in catching up...

MarsLady · 04/09/2007 23:41

Hi Ladies. Could you pray that DD1 gets to school okay over the next couple of weeks. Her school is in the heart of town and there is a tube strike! Thanks.

CaptainCaveman · 05/09/2007 06:43

Morning all, up bright and early this morning as feeling a teeny bit stressed. However, better now I'm up and not lying in bed stressing about stressing!!

Err, can I just say MARSLADY - you are beautiful! Have just checked out your webpages (not stalking, honest!!). Are they your dts on a few of the photos (sorry if that seems obvious, I'm assuming they are?). What gorgeous little ones.
Anyway, of course prayers for your daughter. May God guide her safely to and from school always.

Well, ds has slept 4 out of the past 5 nights in his own bed, for the WHOLE night. Dh has promised him if he does 10 nights he can choose a new toy. Secretly I think ds has been thumbing the argos catalogue . He always creeps into our bed at some point (I never ususally know as I'm comatose when he does), but I must say I'd forgotten how nice it was to have some room in the bed!!

CD did you get the parcel yet?

Love, prayers and blessings to you all. Have a wonderful wednesday!!

DutchOma · 05/09/2007 09:08

Today is the funeral of Mummy2T&F's husband.

Onlyjoking and Steve are also have a rough time of it.

Quite a tough one Mary. Will this be adjudicated by the same man you found hard before? I bet you find out something really interesting and relevant about these two great men.

Congrats on the sleeping of ds, CC
Have a day of wonderful blessing, all of you

Good morning all. Special prayers for MummytoT&F today and for you all.

Does anyone know anything about 7th Day Adventists? I was chatting to our neighbours who are devout adventists - and I don't know anything about the movement at tall

God bless all.

CaptainDippy · 05/09/2007 12:21

Don't know too much, also known as Mormons - have a friend who used to be one (now born-again Christian!! ) Will ask him to chuck some info at me - he has some great flyers and stuff if you want me to post them to you hon??

Notquitegrownup · 05/09/2007 12:53

Hi CD

Oh, I know a bit about the mormons (I was a child of the seventies after all!! I suppose you have heard of the Osmonds, haven't you, you young thing???!)

Funny I checked Adventists on Google and Wikepedia and neither of them made the link to mormons either!
