I spent a few moments at 8 this morning thinking about Lakshmi, and recognising that we can create abundance when we nurture our own spirit.
So I took a few moments to massage my hands and arms with a fragrant body butter that a friend made for me. Pausing to honour my own divine spirit, and that spirit in my sisters.
Acknowledging the importance of self care.

How wonderful to come here after my own 8am moments and find your reflections on Lakshmi speakout wise and uplifting words to start the day with 🙏

And yes, I reckon anything can be used for a scrying!! Halloween Grin

What a calling you had to wake up so early this morning. I hope the day is as gentle as it can be for you and I’m pleased to hear of you focusing on self care 💖

A busy day ahead here and one to be wrapped up warmer in more layers- more opportunities for colour magic with clothing. I’ll be seeking resilience and strength to help me meet the demands of the day.

I found myself by the sea again yesterday after work, a very welcome and invigorating energy boost.

Wishing everyone a day full of magic and flow 💫

Hi All,

It's been really hectic here, so I've been reading along but not posting. I have bought myself a new deck of cards. I mainly read tarot cards but. Pack of Divine Feminine cards caught my eye so I bought them and have been trying to pick one each morning and using them to feel the divine feminine energy within myself through out the day! It's been interesting and got me thinking in different ways which is always good practice I think!

We have had some amazing sunrises here! I miss the light evenings but being able to watch the sunrise does help. I took some photos to share with you. I also saw the most amazing double rainbow a couple of days ago too, but I was driving so couldn't take a photo of that. I feel like Mother Nature has been putting on a show of her power!

I’ve had the worst week.
Not too sure what it is but everything is a major effort.
I took the week off to spend with my son before I am away for the weekend but he’s had such strong emotional outbursts that I’ve really struggled and ended up hardly doing anything.

I’m craving some time in the woods and have attempted and failed to go twice so far.

We managed a trip to the local orc but it was so full of broken glass and dog mess that we ended up cutting that short when son picked up a large shard.

It was my birthday earlier this week and I felt like it was just another reminder of all the people who used to be in my life and no longer are.

Good evening all, dropping in to sit by the fire for a bit. I'm having a difficult time with DS2 at the moment. He seems extremely low, headaches, mouth ulcers, low mood. I'm a bit worried about him, he really doesn't seem to be enjoying his college course and has lost enthusiasm for everything. It's so hard for young people. I remember being that age and everything feeling overwhelming.
Woodlandwitch so sorry you've had a horrid week.
How old is your son? It's such a shame when time off doesn't go as planned. Sending lots of love ❤️

Indigoskye beautiful sunrise pics 😊 Great to hear you're enjoying your new cards.

Yashmis thanks for sharing the image of the sea. Takes me back to the happy place I was in last weekend!

Speakout I read an article earlier about some powerful astral energy that could be causing your dreams and disturbed sleep. I'll see if I can find a link later.

I've not slept very well the last couldn't of nights. I'm working at a Spiritualist Centre open day on Saturday, I've been asked to do one to one readings. I've done a few of these before, but always using tarot cards. This time I'll be expected to make a link direct with spirit and give a 20 minute reading. It's rather daunting. I'm pleased they've asked me, but I keep waking up in the night worrying that nothing will come to me!

AutumnRose1 · 10/10/2019 19:52

Hello all

woodland I'm sorry you're having a rough week. Flowers

I'm exhausted, I think maybe it's the sudden cold weather. Well it seems sudden in London anyway!

SalemSpellman · 10/10/2019 22:14

@VioletCharlotte sorry to hear your DS is unwell. Could you convince him to go to the doctors for a blood test? He may be deficient in B12 or vitamin D. I had the same symptoms and now have a life time supplement of both.

AutumnRose1 · 10/10/2019 22:45

Violet sorry, I missed that your son wasn't well

I have to take lots of vitamin B, might be worth a try.

speakout · 11/10/2019 10:00

VioletCharlotte

I am sorry to hear that you are worried about your son.
Totally understandable.
Moving away from home, staring University, new place to stay is all very stressful, not to say things won't work out well for him, but it is a huge period of adjustment.
Has he told you of his feelings?
As mothers our instinct is to scoop them up, protect them and make everything better.
I feel the same with my young adult children.

But in order for them to grow then overcoming challenges will strengthen them. Hard to watch and can be uncomfortable to go through.
I know when my daughter started University there were a few students living far from home who struggled.
All Universities will have some kind of student care team that can offer support, talk about mood, anxieties, making new friends, life transitions etc.
Students should never be left to fare this out alone, and univerities understand that it can be a huge challenge for new students to cope with these great life changes.
If you can encourage him to talk to the student support body, or a member of staff to ask for help.
When my DD moved into her student accommodation last year quite a few parents would visit, especially in the early months until new support netwoks and friends were made.
Your son may not want you to stay in his flat, but you could stay in a local cheap hotel, and spend a few days having fun with him in his new surroundings.
Seeing his new town/city through your eyes, may lay down ideas of the fun and see the positive aspect in his new surroundings.
In some ways it has advantages over having your son home for the weekend.

On a practical note could you arrange some food deliveries for him ? Including fruit, fruit juices, vitamin tablets etc?
A way of nurturing him from a distance.

Thank you alll for your kind words. When my children are ill, I always feel caught between feeling guilty that I'm not doing enough to help them and feeling like I'm overreacting and smothering them.

Speakout It's 18 year old DS2 who is ill. Happily, DS1 is healthy and enjoying Uni 😊

DS2 is tricky and always has been. Much of the time he's happy, good group of friends, etc. But he has these bouts of ill health; migraines, exhaustion, etc which impacts on his mental health. I've been able to get a Drs apt for this afternoon and have said to him he needs to ask for a blood test. Salem it's interesting you said about a vitamin deficiency as I was thinking the same. His diet isn't great as he's always been a fussy eater.

Having adult DC is hard isn't it?! It helps so much to have you all to talk to 🙏❤️

speakout · 11/10/2019 10:14

Woops! sorry VioletCharlotte

I retract that advice then!! Although may benefit someone else at some point. X

Just enjoying a hot coffee whilst the rain persists outside, it’s good to come here and catch up Brew

Indigo your sunrise pictures are stunning! I love your idea of the display of Mother Nature’s power and the way you are using your new cards to embody the divine feminine.

Love to Violet and Woodland, and anyone else in need of an energy boost as they support others.

Glad to hear you’ve managed to get an appointment Violet. I also have experience of vitamin deficiency causing me to feel similarly.

On another note I’ve no doubt your readings on Saturday will be of huge benefit to the recipients. We all believe in you and have been blessed by the insight and support you have given us. Tap into that if you can 🙏

speakout your advice is indeed useful and relevant to any of us who are supporting DC from a distance. It can feel like and helpless place to be sometimes and your practical ideas are transferable to many situations. Thank you

I saw this cone idea on fb and thought it a lovely suggestion for some simple tree magic. I might try it with an intention of something I want to grow.

Aside from that, like many of us, balancing my energy levels is a key task at present. I’m feeling the pull within towards roots work as the wheel of the year turns.

I have a desire to fill my freezer with nourishing food to this end. (Squirrel magic again!) I might make this veggie crumble later, it feels just the thing amidst this wintry weather!

I hope everyone can find a moment to tend to their roots today 🌳

Speakout your sound advice will help someone I'm sure. Everyone talks about what a great experience university is, but it can also be really tough for students. I follow the university thread on this site and have read a number of posts about young people who are really struggling.

Yashmis that veggie crumble sounds delicious, do let us know what you think of it. I'm always looking for new veggie meals 😊

SalemSpellman · 11/10/2019 12:54

I wanted to share these pictures with you wise ladies. I came across them quite unexpectedly and fell in love with them.

@VioletCharlotte - I hope your son's appointment goes well.

Salem are they Karen Davis by any chance?

I have a few of Karen Davis and Amanda Clarke cards in the flat. I don't have space for stuff, so just buy the cards and put them on the wall.

AutumnRose1 · 11/10/2019 13:00

oh sorry, I think it's Amanda Clark, no e.

SalemSpellman · 11/10/2019 13:05

@AutumnRose1 they are by Hannah Willow. She has a website, I found them in a gift shop that sells jewellery.

AutumnRose1 · 11/10/2019 13:08

thanks Salem

argh, I should have guessed it was her! Smile

YashmisCrone · 11/10/2019 17:42

Lovely pictures Salem, thank you for sharing them with us.

I decided against the crumble making today Violet. Well, I had every intention of going to the shops for the bits I’d need but the pull of the woods in the rain won me over!

So beautiful there today, the river was wild and flowing fast and all the recent rain has caused a new lushness- sparkling green leaves outnumbered autumnal coloured ones and there were even ripe wild strawberries. I feel much better for going there.

So I’m making a Dahl instead! I have made the crumble before though and would recommend it, very much a winter warmer.

Good evening.

Some beautiful images. I have my sweet familiar beside me kneading his blanket, head on my lap, inner eyelids closed, purring loudly.
*Salemspellman" I love those pictures- would make perfect Yule/Solstice cards.
YashmisCrone That strawberry looks so sweet and lush- did you eat it? I wouldn't have been able to resist! Wild strawberries have such an intense flavour. The whole photograph looks full of juice and dew, just lovely.
I grew wild strawberries ( and lots of other fruit), brambles, raspberries, loganberries in my garden when my kids were young.
Flowers would form, small fruits would start growing, as soon as the first blush of pink happened they were gone.
I assumed it was birds.
Only years later my duaghter asked if I knew why my berries were so light of crop....

Her and her brother would apparently do a daily graze of just nearly ripe snaffables while I was busy in the kitchen.
I never knew!

Such a lovely story about your foraging the fruit children speakout, how magical that must have been for them.

I did eat the strawberry!

Lots to catch up on!

Healing wishes to speakout, woodland witch and violets ds, and anyone else who needs a boost right now.

Salem I love Hannah Willow's art, those pictures are lovely. I also like Wendy Andrew and all her goddess pictures.

Yashmis you post the most gorgeous pictures of nature. How energising, to be near the sea, or by that river. I'm in need of somewhere like that right now.

Feeling very tired tonight. Hot bath with salt and essential oils I think .

Flying in, sprinkling self-care dust and magic through the night for you all.

Salem Last year a friend bought me a calendar by Hannah Willow. I love it. the hare one of yours was February. This month's is the White Horse of Uffington www.hannahwillow.com/mother-of-all-herds-ii/4593472150

It must be an auspicious day for paintings, two of Lisa Parker's found a home with me today, www.icanvas.com/canvas-print/midnight-vigil-lpa12#1PC6-40x26
www.icanvas.com/canvas-print/moon-gazer-lpa13#1PC6-26x26

Yashmis what a beautiful river shot, so wild and free, you could also use that to illustrate a 'grey rock' talk.
The strawberry was indeed a gift for you Halloween Grin

It was a joy today to see the trees starting to golden and redden with their autumn hues whilst driving to a nearby town, my trees in the garden are still quite green although the hawthorn is heavy with red berries that the birds enjoy. My wild fuschia is flowering for the third time this year, it's a joy to see.

Orion is so clear in the eastern sky on an night, it's been clear enough to see him outside my window a lot these last couple of weeks, as though he's inviting me to dance across the cosmos with him.

Wishing a magical calm night for everyone, may the stars dance with you too.
