Violet brilliant news about your dog! I'm delighted for you and him.
Tempest to add to the great advice you've received from Yashmis
Rescue Remedy, the tincture in the bottle, is good for smoothing anxiety, it's not a physical remedy, it's a vibrational one so don't expect it to work like a pill would, but it does work. Do follow the instructions on the box, taking more does not mean it's more effective.
Welcome Wehttam
How do you choose your crystals, is it by look or by feel, or a combination of both? Like many people, looks aren't everything. Some can be beautiful and others look dull outside and have their personality released when the light hits them. See photos.
Few people would look twice at my Brandenburg wand, it's quite small and dull looking, there are many more aesthetically pleasing Brandenburgs around, but this one is such a powerful tool that the lady selling it wanted to make sure I knew exactly what it was before she'd let me have it. That doesn't happen with many sellers, although most are quite knowledgeable about the crystal's properties.
You need to swot up on the terminology to find what a lot of them can do, this one has many properties, elestial, skeletal and enhydro are its main ones.
In every illustrated crystal book, there's a diagram showing one that has all the properties they talk about. Window, DT, Bridge, barnacle, key, and a whole lot more. I was drawn to the clear quartz one pictured and it wasn't until I'd had it a while that I realised it's very much like the diagram in all the books.
Important, as soon as you bring a new crystal into your home, cleanse it. Smudge, springwater except for porous ones, saltbed, flame, intention, whatever you're comfy with.
Depending on the size of the crystals you have, try and get to know them one by one. Meditation with them is a great idea, as is asking them to reveal their properties.
Getting the feel of them, many react to different areas of the body. Lie down, in the middle of a double bed is the comfiest for these exercises, otherwise on the floor. Make sure you'll not be disturbed.
Have a notebook handy. Pick one crystal, lie down, put the crystal above your head, wait 5 minutes, note any feelings. this is subjective, there's no right and wrong, it's just a way of getting to know each crystal. If they are tumbled or raw bits, it doesn't matter about the direction they point in unless you specifically feel that matters. For points, do 5 minutes with the point towards you in each position and 5 minutes with the point facing away from you in each position.
Positions to try above head, below feet, left side and right side (sides about level with elbow )
Some are very active on the chakra points, so try those with small crystals one at a time. every time the 5 minutes are up, make a note of any feelings with each stone.
Do this for at least a month, you'll be surprised how your sensitivities develop over time, it's never as easy as just trying something once, it's a learning curve and requires commitment from you.
You can set an intention before you start if you like.
So many of the instructional 'how-to's' these days skip the bit about commitment and infer anyone can do anything after the shortest time. Go at your own pace, above all, enjoy learning and enjoy honing your intuition.
What takes you a long time at the beginning will soon become second nature, you'll be a lot quicker at sensing different things and be able to trust your intuition.
Like everything else we discuss, this is one facet of self-development.
We're all drawn to different facets of it and in time we all learn what where our main interests lie.
