Or Wiccans. or Pagans? Or anyone who is interested in a magical path or feels some magical stirrings.

A place for support, learning, swapping ideas and magical inspiration.

21 degrees here is plenty hot enough for me, even from inside with the doors open! Sending ice cool drink energy Violet, it’s good to hear you energised from the gig. Also fascinating about your goddess guide. I love this kind of meeting with the goddess. Truly magical.

On the same subject, and in answer to Elphame’s question, I have recently bought this:

shamanismbooks.co.uk/rhiannon/

Don’t know what it’s like yet. I might get some reading time later once I’m through this admin. Which is going well with a sense of flow but ‘finding important documents’ energy would be greatly appreciated if anyone had any spare! I know I’ve put them somewhere safe..

I have also moved into a mothering role with my own mother in recent years (although I am not her direct carer) in terms of responsibility and providing stability, advocacy and comfort . It’s an interesting shift in dynamics if sometimes frustrating. I’m sure there’s a lesson about divine femininity in there somewhere but right now I’m too consumed by practicality to see it!

Elphame · 26/08/2019 18:29

I haven't read that one YashmisCrone. I've found Pagan Portals to be very patchy, some are terrible and some are quite good. Glad that's a good one!

@VioletCharlotte - for some reason I'm thinking Bridget here. I work with her forge maiden aspect so she appears to me in a different guise but I've definitely heard her described as you have.

BlankTimes · 26/08/2019 18:47

Speakout definitely suggest AirB+B to your sister if she's uncomfortable in your home.
‘finding important documents’ energy
They're with mine, Yashmis must be, only gone missing since I absolutely needed them. I know exactly where they were when I didn't need them. I did find one bunch after 5 days intensive searching and they have all been dealt with, but this particular wodge of papers are infuriatingly remaining behind the veil for now.
I've also got several other things on the go at the same time so can't just stop my world and search for them either.

Not got a book on the go at the moment Elphame but once the admin pile's down to a reasonable level, then I have two in the wings.

JudgeLinda I also echo - Police, let them be your first and last resort.

OnceUponAMermaidsPurse · 26/08/2019 22:02

Hello all,

Hope you all had a super blessed weekend. Hope the weather wasn't too hot. Blush

We went away, found quite a few super hag stones, plus a mermaids purse. Not really sure about the 'meaning' of the mermaids purse. I have around 15 hag stones, plus I'm sure I found a crystal.

I'll post some photos tomorrow if people want to see.

I was PriestessModwena but changed my name.

Ages ago someone mentioned about ethical stones and doing a trade with others. I also thought about the festival around November, I wondered if anyone would be interested in a gift circle for it?

Many blessings for the coming week, start of the full moon plus new month.

Would anyone like a card draw for the new month?

RosaWaiting · 26/08/2019 22:26

mermaid I’d love a card draw, thank you.

I’d not heard the term “mermaid’s purse”.

33c here today. Did the basics I needed to do but struggled after that.

Thanks to all for sharing books - I have a very long list now! A colleague kindly lent me the Book of English Magic and he said not to worry about taking time on it, but I can see I will want my own copy.

YashmisCrone · 27/08/2019 09:32

Good morning everyone,

I hope the shorter (for some!) week is getting off to a smooth start.

I had a productive day yesterday and reflected on connecting with the elements while I was at it. I enjoyed the sun and breeze as I ploughed through the admin, lit a fire to purge old papers, finished off with a salt bath. All the better for taking time to notice how I felt in relation to each element.

Good news is I have found the elusive documents! TF for that! So I’m passing the ‘finding things energy’ baton back to BlankTimes I agree these these are always to hand when we don’t need them! 🤞

Sounds like you had a lovely weekend Mermaid, I’d like to see pictures of your treasure.

Rosa I hope the temperature is more bearable where you are today.

Elphame I haven’t read the book yet, I hope it’s good one. There’s so much out there but I never really know what’s credible/worth reading. Struggled to find much on Rhiannon.

I’m also enjoying the talk of books- more to explore!

Wishing everyone some magic in their day 💫

Good morning sisters. Lovely to hear about how you have all spent the bank holiday.
Yashmis it sounds like yours was both productive and peaceful. I'm glad you found the documents you were searching for! I loved the way described how you connected with elements throughout the day.

Onceuponamermaidspurse
How wonderful to find so many hagstones, have you decided how you're going to use them? I've not heard the phrase mermaids purse before, so had to google it.

Elphame thank you for your suggestion the goddess I work with may be Bridget. I'm going to do some reading.

Blanktimes good luck finding that paperwork!

Rosa the heat is pretty unbearable isn't it? Temperatures in excess of 30 degrees forecast again for today Confused
My non- air conditioned office is already feeling rather warm, but I've got a fan to help keep me cool. It looks like it's going to drop to a much more manageable 21 tomorrow thankfully!

My energy levels are low today, the late night Sunday is catching up with me. Yesterday I spent time with a couple of friends, who are both going through various difficulties. I was quite drained after several hours of listening and talking and feel in need of some quiet time to myself to recharge.

Hope you all have a good day ❤️

queenrollo · 27/08/2019 10:51

Thank you for all the wonderful birthday wishes. I had a marvellous time, and I ended the day with one of my most treasured friends so it was marvellous indeed.
Busy but tiring weekend. Now unpacking the camper and trying to impose some order on my very unkempt home.
Smallest boy back at school next week and as much as I love him I am very ready for some peace and quiet and solitude.

Yesterday I went into the sea, for the first time since I was a child. I was terrified but it was very invigorating.

RosaWaiting · 27/08/2019 11:34

Sympathies to all those in boiling offices

Today I’m working at home but no point going for a lunchtime walk, 33 and muggy again. Can’t wait for tomorrow but grateful to be spared office and commute.

Instead of commuting I was looking at these....

www.etsy.com/uk/shop/EmilyBalivet/items?order=price_asc&ref=pagination&page=1

The sea...ooh, I might have to trek to a beach. Hmmm.

OnceUponAMermaidsPurse · 27/08/2019 14:25

It feels even warmer today, I think I might have a salt bath too in coolish water.

I really pushed my limits in search of the hag stones. DH said he'd come meet me, I was like a 100 year old lady trying to move. Being the ever sceptical man he asked whether they advocate crippling yourself in pursuit of them.

I wish I'd left my breakfast & kept searching as the shore line was a treasure trove.

I also went in the sea, the first time since I was a child. Although only went as far as covering my ankles, but that cold cold water felt so good. I should have gone deeper as the sea looked lovely.

I'll grab a photo before my bath.

I got some stones where there was a hole but it hadn't gone all the way through. Do they have a name? I got another stone, I'll grab photos of each side, I don't know whether to keep it as it is, or use something to poke the last few mm out.

Sending cool wine all around, or there's witches brew, which is basically soaked mint, citrus fruits & a dash of honey WineBrew

Just catching up and catching breath- seem to have been busy for weeks with little rest. A little cooler today. Flies everywhere here though- in the house, in shops, my car. I have had to buy some sticky fly papers to hang around the house and sprinkling lemon jouce around.
The sunny morning has given way to ominous black clouds so I suspect rain is not far away.
It also feels close- is that just a Scottish word? " Close" as in near, meaning that humid sticky heavy air- often just before a storm.
Not sure is that word is UK wide- we have a lot of Scottish words and I am never sure how widespread they are.
I have some crystals to cleanse so a thunder storm would be perfect.

OP posts:
BlankTimes · 27/08/2019 17:35

Speakout yes, close as in oppressive, humid air making it hard to breathe is uk-wide I think. I also say I've a thunder-head - that particular headache you get when a storm's on its way.

QueenRollo so pleased it all went well!

OnceUponAMermaidsPurse fantastic you made it into the sea!

Yashmis I'm working on the theory it'll appear when I have time to do something about it, which isn't right now!

The sun's been so strong today, on the upside it's encouraged a lot of beneficial insects. I managed to catch a good shot of a lovely butterfly on the Cambridge Blue Lavender. usually I harvest a lot of lavender, Hidcote is my favourite, this year I've left it all for the winged ones.

Any Witches Here? Part 9.
speakout · 27/08/2019 18:19

Blanktimes a stunning photograph.

No thunder here yer, but heavy rai- the fragrance of petrichor is strong- has to be one of my favourite fragrances!

OP posts:
queenrollo · 27/08/2019 18:22

Speakout I use the term 'close' too. It has been very close here today and now there is thunder rumbling all around and I am hoping the air is going to lighten a bit.

speakout · 27/08/2019 20:16

I am giving gratitude tonight for the abundance I have in my life.

Beautiful intention and energy speakout Thank you for sharing it with us 💜

BlankTimes your butterfly/lavender picture is absolutely stunning Shock

Close here too! No sign of a storm my end, would love one though ⚡️

VioletCharlotte · 28/08/2019 08:18

Thank you for sharing those pictures Blanktimes and Speakout. Your positive energy is just what I needed this morning. I'm currently on a train on the way to London for a consultant appointment about an ongoing medical issue. I was feeling grumpy, I slept badly because of the heat, and could do without a trip to the city. Your posts have helped me shift my thinking and made me realise I have a lot to be grateful for 🙏

I feel like life has been something of a treadmill recently and, although the of course I love both my DS to bits, I'm ready for them to be back at college/ uni so I can have the house to myself occasionally!

YashmisCrone · 28/08/2019 09:12

All the best for your appointment Violet, hope it’s productive. Love to you and a wish for some pockets of the peace and quiet you crave x

OnceUponAMermaidsPurse · 28/08/2019 09:37

Here's my little hoard, there's hag stones on there, the mermaids purse, plus some rocks that looks interesting. I found the yellow crystal like stone on the beach, I thought it looked like citrine maybe?

OnceUponAMermaidsPurse · 28/08/2019 09:40

The best one is the stone with two holes, they follow all the way through. Does anyone know about what I said about a stone that has a hole both sides but is blocked by say 2/3mm. If I poked it out with a skewer, would it be a hagstone, or would I be better leaving as it is.

Many blessings to all.

YashmisCrone · 28/08/2019 09:51

Great hoard!
That 2 holed hagstone is lovely. I’m no stone expert but do know that there’s natural quartz to be found in the UK

Elphame · 28/08/2019 16:03

The hole needs to form naturally Mermaid. I put the ones with incomplete holes back where I found them as they're not ready yet :)

You have a lovely collection there - I've picked up citrine geodes on occasion.

RosaWaiting · 28/08/2019 16:10

Thank you for all the lovely posts
I was shattered last night and they perked me up
London was still boiling last night so today at work was like wading through treacle.

I was wondering if anyone can recommend any good oil burners, especially prefer a battery operated one. I am desperately short of space and available plug sockets in my flat!

Elphame · 28/08/2019 16:28

My oil burner is tea light powered :) No plugs required. I do have a mains powered oil diffuser from Neals Yard but I don't much like it and never actually use it. I don't think I've ever seen a battery one
