Where does all the time go?? MN Christian Prayer Request Thread JULY 2007: WEEK 2!!

Summary from last week:

KSM - DD had operation last Thurs (5th) to remove adnoids & have grommets fitted. No news yet.

PandaG - Praise God her friend's DD who was in hospital has had a DX for her rash & is home, feeling a lot better. Prayers for Panda as she is feeling low atm.

Suzy - Prayers for DNephew who has been admitted to hospital because his kidneys are leaking urine.

tasja - On-going prayers for her child-minding business to pick up.

fannyannie - Things are going well with DS3 and DH - Prayers this would continue and get better & better!

BedofRosesitAint - Prayers that she would be able to sort childcare out for Sept.

CarGirl - Prayers for increased intimacy with God.

CaptainCaveman - Praise God for the "all clear" result reiceved for A & J from her church! Lots of prayers for DSis who is drinking a lot again & not doing well, prayers of protection for her DNiece.

LaurieFairyCake - Welcome! Prayers for her & her family as they struggle to make ends meet financially at this time.

NASWM - Lots of prayers for her & her family as her DH gos through gruelling treatment for liver failure. NASWM also requested prayers for her friend K who has cancer but is too ill to recieve Chemo at the present time.

CaptainDippy - Praise God that Adam is recovering so well, prayers for this to continue. Prayers for her as she struggles with tiredness and anxiety.

I'm OK. I've not seen my aunt in years and we were never that close - just don't like the idea of her suffering. Praying that she discovers God in all of this...

As for my friend - she knows I'm here for her. Its hard for her at the moment as she doesn't know very much - her mother spoke to her as she was dashing to the hospital, following the ambulance. We had a long talk this pm after she collected her children following pizza praize

One of my fave hymns at the moment is "Lord I lift your name on high". Otherwise I love "Will you come and follow me if I but call your name" has been a favourite ever since I felt called. Especially the verse "Will you love the you you hide if I but call your name, will you quell the fear inside and never be the same" - as that speaks volumes to me and for me.

Hello my Christian friends!

I would like you to do some major, serious praying for someone I think you all know - Naswm aka Losty.

She is in such a dark and difficult place right now. I could not begin to tell you all the issues she has to deal with at the moment, suffice it to say that I think it would equal an entire lifetime of other people's worries and difficulties, and I do not exaggerate when I say that.

Naswm is the dearest friend to me although we only met on Mumsnet a year and a half ago and have only met in the flesh a couple of times. When things aren't too on top of either of us, we talk every day on msn and she has made such a difference to my life. In that time, I have been staggered by the number of things she has had to deal with. I think it is fair to say that even if you searched her name on MN, you would only know at best half of the troubles she has.

I spoke to her on the phone briefly this evening and she sounds at rock bottom. I know her faith is not a consolation to her at the moment, but I also feel she would so appreciate your prayers on her behalf. Sadly, we live too far apart for me to be of any practical use to her, and my own faith is pretty much dead so I cannot even pray for her, but there is a tiny tiny part of me that still feels your prayers would help at this time.

So please, I know you pray a lot for many other people, but please could you all put Naswm and her family and friends really high up your list this weekend?

Hi all

Can you pray for a good friend of mine. Her back has seized and whilst she now has a little movement with it it's not good. She has a major singing commitment tonight and doesn't want to let anyone down... plus it's her favourite type of singing. I told her I'd get you all on the case.

Hi, I'm asking for prayers for one of dd2's pre-school teachers and her daughter. Her partner died in a motor cycle accident last week and they are both devastated. Thanks.

Could do with a little prayer myself. Please pray that God keeps His arms around me. Got some heavy stuff going on at the moment and need to prayer. Ta! (Sorry to be cryptic)

Good news - my friend's dad DIDN'T have a heart attack - it was a blood clot in his neck, which, while serious, is more easily treated... Thank God!

I am (fairly) new on this message board too and although we prayed for misdee and Peter in the meet-up yesterday, I am not aware what has changed their circimstances.

dutchoma, he seems to be really poorly right now. his heart is in a bad way so he's been on a thing called an LVAD which works for him but is basically an open wound on his chest for two years now, with all the persistent dangers that presents.
he has had a bigger stroke than he's ever had before and misdee and the family are concerned about his recovery. also if he's too sick to be operated on if a heart comes in then that's not good. or if he stays in this rotten limbo where he's not being treated as an emergency... oh, the whole thing had been a living nightmare for them. it's awful.
and yet misdee and the family and peter just keep goiing every day, hoping that the day will come soon when the transplant call will come and they'll get their old lives back. so that's what i'm praying for. any help much appreciated, thank you.

Prayers also for you CCM - I know what those anxious feelings are like! Do you have any coping techniques? Are they working atm, or does that come and go too?

We had a lovely service at church this evening. It was an Iona service, the first time we've done such a service. So restful, so spiritual. One of the traddies who attended thought it was "a bit pagan"! What??? (PS No-one tell the pagans on the board, they would probably and rightly be offended! Our vicar couldn't figure out what he meant either!). I prayed out loud for all those in darkness and despair and in need of God's healing touch and light - thinking of those mentioned on this thread...

Hi all.

Long time no speak! I sort of let my faith go by the way side, with eveything that was going on, i started to doubt him up there and myself.

BUT... prayers finally have been answered, we are now weeks away from a new life and although its going to be tough, we are looking forward to it.

My DH, who all his life has been Athiest, asked me something quite special last night - that when we move, if we could ALL go to church together every week. He really feels as if after 4 years of a very rough ride, it is the good man himself who has shone on us and let everything fall into place at the last minute. I am so proud of him, and the fact that I havent had to mention one thing about my faith for this to have occured.

I will ask for prayers for Misdee, Peter and the 3 girls, and also another one for myself. I pray that all goes well over the next 3 weeks and the house move goes well, and my pregnancy continues to be relatively problem free.

Love to you all and God Bless. I hope to be here more and sorry for not leaning on you all when I probably needed you the most.
