KSM - DD had operation last Thurs (5th) to remove adnoids & have grommets fitted. No news yet.

PandaG - Praise God her friend's DD who was in hospital has had a DX for her rash & is home, feeling a lot better. Prayers for Panda as she is feeling low atm.

Suzy - Prayers for DNephew who has been admitted to hospital because his kidneys are leaking urine.

tasja - On-going prayers for her child-minding business to pick up.

fannyannie - Things are going well with DS3 and DH - Prayers this would continue and get better & better!

BedofRosesitAint - Prayers that she would be able to sort childcare out for Sept.

CarGirl - Prayers for increased intimacy with God.

CaptainCaveman - Praise God for the "all clear" result reiceved for A & J from her church! Lots of prayers for DSis who is drinking a lot again & not doing well, prayers of protection for her DNiece.

LaurieFairyCake - Welcome! Prayers for her & her family as they struggle to make ends meet financially at this time.

NASWM - Lots of prayers for her & her family as her DH gos through gruelling treatment for liver failure. NASWM also requested prayers for her friend K who has cancer but is too ill to recieve Chemo at the present time.

CaptainDippy - Praise God that Adam is recovering so well, prayers for this to continue. Prayers for her as she struggles with tiredness and anxiety.

Next module kicked off last night - Church history. 3 2000 word essays plus one group presentation to be completed by December. . Tutor lives an hour's drive away, so that's a pain! 5 tutorials in that time...

Please pray for N. She has 2 DD the same age as my two. A few months ago, she had an operation (inc skin graft) to remove a growth from her ear (some sort of unspecified fungal/bacterial growth - they never did find out what it was). The skin graft is starting to come away and become infected, and she has been in a lot of pain. She has been told that her ear will have be "closed" off, which will mean she will lose hearing in that ear.

Praying for N Mary, sounds awful.

Great anniversary, we went out last night with friends and drank lots of wine, but not too much.

Feeling sick at the moment, and NO its not a hangover!! Praying I'm not coming down with anything. Bleurgh.

Sad news - can't make the meet up as dh is dragging me up to Cleethorpes to see friends. Am sad about that as was looking forwards to meeting you all. However, please plan another meet up soon and I'll deffo be at that one.

Hannah threw up in my hair, BAD argument with DH, DD1 late for school, you get teh picture and Hannah has been grizzling and clingy all day just when I need to chill out a bit!

Prayers needed here too - am feeling panicky and anxious today. Horrid things, please pray for them to go away!! It's my dsis that I'm worrying about, although I've just spoken to her and she seems fine. She's agreed to ring her hv for some help which is fabbo news! Also, I think because I'm alone in the office today I'm suffering from not having anyone to talk to!! Prayers for chilling out!

Well I have had such a busy week at work. Things have been much, much busier than normal and my colleague has been off sick! Yikes - So I've been working flat out to get things done before the end of term (approaching very soon - yippeeee!) There is just mountains and mountains of work that must be done by the end of next week - a bit overwhelming tbh. Today I had a real sense of God's peace and went around singing that hymn "It is well with my soul". Anyway I just found this - do listen if you have 3 mins 20 secs to spare! It is an amazing song with an amazing story behind it.

A bit of news too - we have been asked to join one of the daughter churches and to join the lay leadership there! I am soooooo !!! I have been told that I will get opportunities to preach and lead services. THis was in a meeting with our vicar yesterday who was soooo incredibly encouraging. It felt a real "mountain-top" experience talking with him - talk about a ministry of encouragement!

Looking forward to Saturday and praying for you all. I'm going to be busy over the next few days baking!

Rosey, that is lovely. I'm so pleased for you. Just a little concerned that you will overdo things, what with your hospital chaplaincy work and all. Take care, sweetheart and see you Saturday... with a bit of luck.

RL - its fantastic news. As DO says, don't overdo it though! Take it from the voice of experience - you'll love what you're doing so much that its easy to wear yourself out!

CCM - hope you're feeling better now. Its so easy to get worked up about things. I felt a cloud lift from me today, when I remembered that God wants what's best for us, and to trust him. Also that while people will let you down, he NEVER will and is always faithful. I'd been feeling down for a week or more, and couldn't pray myself out of it!

Hi Morocco and Tiggerish. I'm Mary, aged 40 and live near Ely. I have 3 children, aged 43, 7 and 5 . I'm currently training as a Lay Minister in the C of E, having returned to faith about 5 years ago, but having developed a much closer relationship with God in the past 2 years, resulting in my current calling. Of course, I still muck things up occasionally, despite what I'm doing!

Oh I'm a bad mummy. I've just smacked DD over the head with her bible, and told her she's "been hit with the word of God" and to go to sleep

can i ask for your prayers,

the hospital have postponed DD2's next appointment until sept and we are waiting on some test results for her and also a further referral, so prayers that when i ring up they give me some info over the phone.

prayers too for my job, i'm loving my new role at work but the funding runs out in 12 months, i really want to continue doing this and well would just apricate some prayers.

Oh Mary, really? Hope you apologised? Is she asleep now?

I'm sure she did, but I know from bitter experience that such things CAN fester. DD only just recently told me how really really worried she had been over the sunday school teaching about Abraham and Isaac and 'what if God told you to kill one of us. What would you do then?'
And so she has come to the conclusion that God is just a lot of 'tauri excreta' as you so delicately put it.
So give your dd a hug from DO and have one for yourself as well

Aww DO - prayers and hugs for your daughter. I used to worry terribly about that story too. It is a strange one for a Sunday School to use.
