yashmis ancient woodland and lots of memories as well as easy access to beaches and the sea. Also laylines. lots of them. It is a very interesting place energy wise and I find the energy soothing and calming. It is this place that lead me down the rabbit hole into tree magic last year. The species surrounding me seems to affect me greatly some times.

I am looking forwards to the clocks going forwards and lighter evenings. A lot. So much easier to be motivated and achieve things when the evenings are light.

VioletCharlotte · 20/03/2019 18:13

Hills sounds perfect, just what you need to relax and recharge 😊 The sea is calling me too, I've got a week off in April so my plan is to get down to the coast.

Some of you may find this article about the spring equinox interesting.

www.patheos.com/blogs/witchindeed/2019/03/spring-equinox-rebirth-or-let-things-stay-buried/

FitzsFool · 20/03/2019 19:29

Settling down with a cup of tea to read the couple of articles that have been linked. I have Mother Moon space aroma oil in the oil burner from Starchild and it is the most wonderful scent, really lifting.

MistyMount that drawing of a hare is fantastic, you're very talented.

I too am so pleased to have reached a point where night and day are equal and soon the lighter evenings will be here. I find March such a difficult month and can get quite down in the dumps as by this point as I am so very ready for the Spring and yet Winter seems to often fight back with a grand finale in this month!

However, I think maybe I'm just being impatient, and the wheel of the year shows us that everything will tick along in its own time, a change of gear is always just around the corner.

The sky here has been so, so grey and dreary and yet everywhere I go, my attention is being drawn by all the beautiful magnolias that are now in bloom. Winter may be determined to have the last word but Spring is winning.

SockPortal · 20/03/2019 19:46

@VioletCharlotte I love the picture you have posted! It absolutely sums up the birth of spring, the darkness of the winter is behind the hare as he springs forward.

speakout · 20/03/2019 21:26

Too tired to do much else tonight except slump into bed with a peppermint tea.

Intense bright moonlight is flooding through me bedroom windows, I can feel her energy- I need it today!

I hope the full moon and equinox brings balance and positive energy to everyone tonight.

The energy from the moon is beautiful Speakout. Unfortunately it's too cloudy too see it here, but I'm feeling the energy.

SockPortal · 21/03/2019 08:53

I slept with the curtains open last night so I can appreciate the full moon. I do feel a little bit more restful although I didn't sleep very well.

EnchantersNightshade · 21/03/2019 09:13

Really enjoying the energy of the Super Moon (or Super Worm Moon or Sap Moon, as I've just read). It illuminated all 4 corners of my house last night & penetrated around my blackout blind Grin

You can probably tell, this time of year has always been so energising & stimulating for me, probably in part because I feel more like 'me'. Have always struggled to stay grounded around now. Everywhere is just so full of LIFE! 🌱. I feel just like your hare VioletCharlotte. (Would love to be able to draw like MistyMount).

Very envious of everyone off to special places. I get called to the sea too, but currently live so far from it. I would take one of YashmisCrones mossy streams & crystal cool water if I could get there.

I'm happy with my woodlands for now though & the thrush is so vocal & pleased with himself. From 5 am onwards every day Wink

SO happy that preview is working again. My brain empties into a page in such a muddle at times!

Loyaultemelie · 21/03/2019 12:19

Enchanters we have a very talkative thrush too! Almost always makes me smile (less enthusiastic at 5.30 am when I haven't slept well!) also spent part of this morning watching 2 goldfinches which is the first I've seen them this year.

I used some of the moons energy to do a sort of clean (as much as you can with a litter picker from a wheelchair) and burning some lovely oils and candles now

HillsBesideTheSea · 21/03/2019 19:53

I have been lucky enough to have been seeing goldfinches all winter. The last few nights I have had the pleasure of listening to chatty owls. I have been enjoying the sound.

speakout · 21/03/2019 20:16

Yes a lot of birds here too today.
I noticed the first daisy flowers too yesterday- bees and ladybirds too.

Lovely to see everything stirring into life.

I still have to plant my lupins and foxgloves, but the weather has been too bad for gardening.
Hopefully this weekend.

A wise local once told me never to plant anything that is susceptible to frost before good friday. Especially potatoes. Not sure how much the weather likes to follow that rule but I am using this excuse as to why I have not started my sweetpeas or herb seeds.

littleninja · 21/03/2019 23:18

Good evening magical people!

apologies I haven't posted recently. Been a rather busy few weeks here but I have managed to dip in occasionally for a very brief catch up. So pleased to hear you are all relishing the lighter evenings and spring buds which are beginning to appear. A bit of sunshine and blue skies would be the cherry on the cake!

I'm looking forward to the weekend. DH is going away so it's just me and the DC and we are all in need of a relaxing few days. I'm hoping to spend some time at the allotment and do a little baking in between walking the dogs. You never know, I might even get chance to sort through some of the junk in the spare room. @HillsBesideTheSea I am firmly taking you old locals advice about not planting less hardy seeds prior to good Friday but the soil is primed and good to go!

@speakout You mentioned lupines and it reminded me that one of my favourite children's books is 'Miss Rumphius'. have you heard of it? It's a wonderful book about a lovely lady (based on the real life 'lupine lady' called Hilda Hamlin) I appreciate the book even more as an adult and I really must try to be more like Miss Rumphius!

Wishing you all a wonderful few days.

speakout · 22/03/2019 06:24

Good morning everyone, littleninja lovely to see you again, and I will look up that book about the lupins.

My grandmother who was a witch and taught me a lot of eitchcraft as a vhild loved lupins, and grew hundreds in her garden.

hills I agree about the planting, in fact planting a little late is much better than planting too early.
I have come a cropper in some years when me eagerness has resulted in having all my seedlings destroyed by frost.

I'm just having a quick coffee before getting off to a yoga class, then home to work.
It's a bright blustery day here I can see the dawn clouds scampering quickly across the sky.

Have a magical Friday everyone.

Because of the freaky mild weather we didn’t even get proper frost here during winter so plants which should have died back didn’t. Half a flower bed (so a quarter of my gardening space) is filled with lush green mint with some feral rocket and a few brave tulips poking their heads through.
I’m jealous of those who can enjoy moonlight though, there’s far too much light pollution here.
On the plus side I got to hang out with one of my favourite trees yesterday. It’s a coastal redwood, very grand but with bark that feels furry to the touch. Yes, I’m the person who stands in the park stroking the trees.

HillsBesideTheSea · 22/03/2019 07:25

I have finally killed the poinsettia. Really impressed I managed to get it to survive this long. But it got a draft when we had the storms and it has thrown its leaves, turning black and given up.
Funny that my ability to look after plants tend to reflect my mood. When I am very stressed I kill the poor things. I really do need to get my stress levels down.

queenrollo · 22/03/2019 09:28

I have been wiped out by the virus that I nursed my youngest child through. I am not prone to suffering like this, but it's a doozy and has knocked out half the school and parents over the last week.

Tonight I am going to see Roy Harper in concert. Really looking forward to it, even if I am still feeling fragile.

@BartonHollow - i'm a Leo/Virgo cusp too. Never been charted though so not sure which one I actually fall into.

YashmisCrone · 22/03/2019 10:15

Good morning,

I woke this morning with a ‘knowing’ about a trait I have and it’s purpose, then I saw this article about today’s astrology.

foreverconscious.com/intuitive-astrology-chiron-meets-the-sun?fbclid=IwAR2kxED14Li8-LA1jYxIaX5mqJp26W6kPwfO0gTtyPgDyGtvYkT3JwffZi4

I’d be interested to hear if anyone else has any similar experiences.
I’m busy and tired this week but I can feel a shift.

I used the full moon energy to release a working I’d been holding on to. Something that hadn’t manifested in the way I’d hoped at the time. I’d forgotten I still had the written spell but something reminded me so I burnt it to release the intention and any over tight attachment I may have to it. I feel freer for it.

I’m listening with interest to the discussions about birdsong, planting and special places. Hills that place you plan on visiting sounds wonderful. I love sea energy too and am lucky enough to have never lived too far from the coast. Interesting when DS went to uni, he found the perfect place/course for him but his only reservation was being landlocked. He was always desperate to get to the sea when he came home.

Barton I loved reading about the moon ram you saw. I love it when that happens and am drawn to looking at shamanic animal medicine meanings to see what message it may have for me. I can’t find the book I use but is there anything in this that resonates?

www.tanyacasteel.com/project/ram-symbolism/

Enchanters I’m heading to the woods shortly and will take you with me in spirit in hope that you can feel the lovely energy of the place from where you are. I’m loving your springy zing! 🌱

Happy Friday sisters ✨💫

EnchantersNightshade · 22/03/2019 11:57

An ancient woodland I used to spend a lot of time in throughout the seasons. I will get back there!

YashmisCrone · 22/03/2019 12:04

I love seeing the stirrings of new life in the woods. The fern fronds particularly caught my eye today.

A reminder of potential for growth and that we are always in a state of flux- nothing stays the same.

I love how my witches path with it’s attention to the changing seasons teaches me about growth, flow and change 💫

Oh Enchanters that is so beautiful! 😍

You will get back there Smile

Loyaultemelie · 22/03/2019 13:11

Hills vegetable farmers here and my Dh would agree about not planting before good Friday, most of the other local farmers have acres of early potatoes and often lose out we Plant later and are still ready at the same time or sooner without losing yield.
Yashmis that article is really interesting it makes sense of some feelings I have had recently!
I also love your pictures it certainly seems like a magical place.
Enchanters what a beautiful place I can see why you want to go back

Looking forward to a peaceful (ish with 2 dds who fight the bit out) and Dd1 is going to help me make some moisturiser tomorrow. This knee has proved an insurmountable obstacle to doing it myself

VioletCharlotte · 22/03/2019 13:23

Some beautiful photos here this morning, such magical energy coming from you all** 💕

When I'm having a busy day at work, I love to take a breather and dip into this thread. Your energy helps me get through!! 💫

I'm going to a full moon getting tonight 🌕 So excited to be spending the evening with like-minded sisters for some meditation and chanting. A lovely start the weekend 😊

BartonHollow · 22/03/2019 16:15

@YashmisCrone

That was extremely interesting, my Tarot cards indicated (I did a 12 months spread) that the next 3 months would be very.. active I guess is a good word, eventful implies turbulence whereas what was implied was more eventful, an overcoming/success.

It's like almost telling me to take every opportunity that comes

FitzsFool · 22/03/2019 18:02

Hello all

Enjoying all the garden talk. I'm such a novice with plants but I'm keen and willing to learn!

Yashmi those photos are lovely. Excuse my ignorance but what is that plant in the middle photo? They look like ammonite fossils, I don't think I've ever seen them before.

Have a great evening everyone. I'm out for a little galavanting with some friends although at the moment a quiet evening in front of the fire with a glass of something full-bodied seems the more appealing option!
