Been a bit of a hedgewitchy day today. I've been drying lilac blossom and sweet woodruff and setting some rhubarb gin to steep.

I've also taken the next step against pesky neighbour. He cut down all the hedging between us and left my garden open plan and I want my privacy back. These new bamboo plants should do the trick nicely!

Really interesting to read your thoughts and experiences on shadow work Salem and CircumzenithalArc. I agree it’s about all that’s hidden- there’s treasure to be found in the shadows I think. I also agree that it happens naturally as we become more in tune with ourselves. That sounds like a really powerful experience Salem

Interesting that so many are drawn to this work at the moment. I’ve just read this and wondered if it might go some way to explaining the current pull to shadow work.

Elphame I always enjoy hearing of your witching. The hedgewitchery sounds lovely and I hope you’re seeing some results from the work you’re doing to protect your space. That neighbour sounds like a right PITA, although I’ve every faith your workings will do the trick!

It was good to get my hands in the earth after work today- potting on some seedlings. I’ve been experimenting with tomatoes, peppers and lemons all from seeds of supermarket bought food. So far so good 🤞

It feels quite stormy here too! A lot of wind (no warnings though, we never get warnings here for wind, it is too common). Speaking of the wind, I am going out for a walk now to get the cobwebs blown out of my head and hopefully find more signs of spring.

I also see we are coming up for the first anniversary of the start of this group. It has been a pleasure to meet so many like minded people.

Thank you Yashmis for confirming what my memory tried to tell me. I have some scribbled down notes from some of the things that speakout has suggested in the past, but I will have another hunt through as see what else I can find. Also many many thanks for reposting those links I will have a good look. The article is interesting, not sure how much pull it has rather than other life events atm (significant birthday coming up = all the over analysing ) but definitely something to keep in mind and observe.

DpWm yes totally agree, my focus for shadow work is to bring some inner peace/balance for having made peace/resolved a few undealt with lingering things which are negatively impacting my life. Salem i hope that you continue to have luck banishing your demons with the shadow work you have planned.

Nothing he can do about it. This is entirely on my side of the wall.

I've moved on slightly from purely defensive work although this will create a physical and magical barrier in itself. I've chosen one (Phyllostachys bissettii) that grows 5m+ tall which will totally block his view into my garden from the windows of the house he plans to build. In fact he won't see much but bamboo.....

Speakout I've just seen you said we're coming up to the first anniversary of this thread.This made me smile as I was just wondering last night how long the thread has been running. Shall we look at doing another candle connection to celebrate?

I'm not ignoring everyone else btw, I will read all the posts properly later when I have time to take everything in properly. I'm at work, but couldn't resist dipping in and Rosa's question caught my attention!

It's raining here but just got back from a lovely 5 mile walk with the dog. Lovely gentle spring rain so although I'm wet I really enjoyed it.

My bamboo will be nicely watered in too

I have several pages to catch up on but wanted to share my own moon tattoo with you all.

Life difficult here, things beyond my control. I am feeling sad and heavy of spirit.

Stuck my arm out of the bedroom window keen to feel the freshness of rain on my skin earlier.

Loving listening to you lot chatter. Trying not to feel grumpy I can't properly follow & join in. And now I have a YEAR of homework to do to catch up! Well done everyone on keeping the energy, warmth, Aga & teapot going.

Have managed 3 grounding sessions (well lying on the grass, drinking in the scent & catching my breath) to heal my emotional self, but I physically pay for the effort so can't chance it often. Only worth it in good heat too. I must be the only person wearing full thermals, socks & a woolly hat when the barbecues & paddling pools come out .
