I've had a really rough couple of nights of sleep, and so has my 1 year old DD. I'm wondering if it's linked to the full moon, sadly mine and DD's night time awakenings were not synchronised, I let her sleep next time in my bed last night for the first time after getting up for what seemed like the millionth time, I've spent a night perched on the edge of the bed whilst her and DH enjoyed the rest of the bed.

I'm enjoying the longer days, as I walk to work in the mornings I can feel the world awakening and the energy out from the winter hibernation. I'm getting to see the sun rise and sun set as I scuttle about my daily business.

Good morning. I had a long sleep too, but very disturbing dreams again.
A powerful male figure trying to break in/rob/rape me. I could find no defence.
Glad to be awake and have coffee.
So much lighter this morning, but wild and windy out there.
Things not totally resolved since yesterday, but I have to plough on with the day.
Off to a body pump class at 9am, so that should clear some cobwebs away.

Morning ladies, room for one more?

I'd like to thank you all before I say anything else. I found these threads just before Christmas and have been slowly plodding my way through. I had planned to read them all before I joined in, but you're moving so fast I thought I'd better come and say hello!

I don't get much time to read due to small (and big!) ones, but I find myself drawn here and wanting to spend the time I do have soaking up the knowledge you ladies share. These threads exude such kindness, and friendly, positive, welcoming energy. I have gained so much just from reading your posts. It feels like coming home...

I feel I've always been drawn to this side of things but never really explored it much for silly reasons really. Looking back my Grandma had many 'witchy' ways, so it's not really surprising as I spent much of my childhood with her.

The last couple of months have been unsettling here. There have been changes but more are needed. I'm hoping to be able to harness some of the positivity here and put it to good use! I am very aware that I need to work on myself and how I view things, to be able to help my family with their issues.
I'm starting small - have been doing things with intent, trying to find the time for some self care, reading as and when I can and I've bought myself some crystals which I've been using to help absorb the chaos of this house! I also remembered to put them out to charge (if that's the right word) in the full moon.
I did purchase a couple of bits from your shop @speakout although I've not had any time to myself to use anything other than the smudge spray yet.

I'm another who had a very unsettled night filled with disturbing dreams. It's not very often I remember my dreams, so when I do, it tends to send me a bit off balance because it always seems to be bad ones!

I'm sorry it's not been an easy time for some of you. I hope you have some time for self care and healing.

A quick question, I have been wearing an amethyst bracelet which I accidentally put through the washing machine. It felt 'ruined', almost as if I'd washed away any good. I left it out last night and am hoping that will make it feel better to me. Is this me being a bit crazy?!

Sorry for the long, rambling post, I'm definitely not as eloquent as most of you! Blush

Sending positive energy to those who need it and wishing you all a peaceful day.

Sok1ere · 20/02/2019 09:23

@speakout I think you have the right attitude. For the most part, bad thoughts/feelings will pass away if we stop giving them attention imho.

I know people who resist pleasure because they hate (understandably) the lows due to trauma and the misery that causes and would rather stay bobbing along the bottom than risk crashing down from a glorious high. I truly get that but, personally, I refuse to miss out on life's highs and suspect you're the same... One bad week out of months of good is okay in my book. I can deal with that.

This will pass for you. Cake

VioletCharlotte · 20/02/2019 09:30

Good morning.

Speakout that dream sounds extremely unsettling. It sounds like you've got some stuff coming to the surface you need to process. Hope the body pump class helped a bit.

@LongingToBeByTheSea
Welcome 🙏 Lovely to have you with us. I'm not an expert on crystals, but my first thought was that it'll be fine, and actually washing it may actually clear any negative energy it's picked up. I would charge it in the sunlight for a few hours. Be interested to hear what others say.

Littleninja
Thanks for your message about my dog. He's doing really well, the healing process is slow but he'll get there.

Sockportal
Sorry you've had a bad night too. I remember those days of sharing the bed with little ones. How do they manage to take up so much room?!

Yashmis
I love your full moon altar. I listened to a full moon guided meditation last night and visualised releasing the things that are holding me back. Then I had a candlelit salt bath. Feeling much more like myself today.

BlankTimes · 20/02/2019 09:36

Hi Longing there's a fresh brew in the pot, grab a cuppa and a cushion.

No, you're not crazy about the bracelet, learn to trust your intuition, it's telling you that the bracelet needs 'resetting'
When you pick it up again, sit and hold it between your palms and see if it 'feels' any more like its old self.

If it's still a bit off, lay it on some rock salt overnight on a saucer, or next to some smoky quartz or some kyanite if you have those, with the intent of banishing the 'off' feelings and restoring its balance. then check the next day.

You won't have physically harmed it, amethyst is a form of quartz and is a very hard stone.

MrFMercury · 20/02/2019 12:25

Hi everyone. I'm another one having disturbed night and anxieties about family. I'm also another one who finds being on these threads calming so I am sending some calm to everyone in return.
If I'd been better organised I'd have celebrated my first full moon but I got distracted. DD1 and I would like to celebrate Ostra next month. Does anyone mind sharing a bit about what they do? I think we'd like to be doing a ritual at the time of the exquiox which I've noted as being just before 10pm. I've gathered some spring green candles that felt right but weve not got far beyond that yet.

YashmisCrone · 20/02/2019 13:06

Hello all,

A slower paced day for me after an overly full one yesterday. As I say that the work phone is pinging away so maybe not!

speakout I hope that the body pump served its purpose to blow out some cobwebs. That dream sounds terrifying. I was thinking that if it’s resurfacing trauma that’s causing some of these dreams then there’s a school of thought that advocates physical exercise as a good way to process it.

Elphame I hope the divination meeting went well and that the energy feels clearer now.

Violet lovely to hear about your full moon work and pleased to hear you’re feeling more yourself today. Thank you for that full moon info. I think there have now been studies that show a link between disturbed sleep and the full moon and that some people are more sensitive to the influence of the moon than others.

Barton I’m glad the ideas we shared made some sense to you. I don’t know about you but it always helps me to attach some sort of explanation to a tough time I’m going through (besides the obvious RL reasons). It gives me a comforting sense of energy influences as transient.

Sok1ere I’m glad you liked the articles and love the thought of you being calmed by the tree one despite the traffic and taxi meter! I think those are very wise words about not overprotecting yourself for fear of the bad times. I find it healthy, if not always comfortable (or even tolerable) to remind myself the the human experience consists of a full range of emotions, and again that these ebb, flow and change as life goes on.

certainlymerry I’m glad you found your way back to us. It’s tough when everyone around you is at breaking point, particularly when you’re sensitive to energy/empathic. Do you have practices to nurture and protect yourself? I think it’s one of the times when self care is most important.

littleninja I really like what you say about learning from the tortoises. Animal medicine really interests me and I love tortoises!

Misty your words about ‘regaining ourselves incrementally’ really resonate with me. Very wise I think and the sort of perspective that allows us to be kinder to ourselves. I’ve just looked up blue triangle butterflies- what beautiful creatures! I hope you soon find some relief from the back/hip issues.

sockportal sorry to hear you’ve had such disturbed sleep too. I could never understand how small people could take up so much space! I loved reading about you seeing the sunrise, and hope for better rest for you tonight.

Longing welcome. It’s good to have you here. It’s so interesting how many of us have witchy ways passed down the maternal line. I agree with Blanktimes wise words about the crystal. Mine are all sitting out in the garden after a night of full moon bathing.

Mecury I’m not sure what I’ll be doing yet but it’ll be some hotchpotch thing to represent fertility (not literally in a reproductive sense!) that feels relevant to me at the time. So I might focus on what’s growing in my life- the shoots of the seeds I’ve previously sown. Not very clear I know, but I tend to just work with harnessing the energy in a way that strikes me as relevant at the time. I think others will have some clearer ideas and inspiration, but for now, there’s a few ideas here:

www.thoughtco.com/all-about-ostara-the-spring-equinox-2562471

Continuing to send love to those who need a bit of that at the moment x

MrFMercury · 20/02/2019 13:24

Thanks @YashmisCrone your comments make sense and I'll go read that article Smile

Good afternoon and a big welcome to LongingToBeByTheSea.
The more the merrier here, so great you could join us.

I am feeling a bit more balanced this afternoon, just been changing sheets on my bed to get rid of some of the energy from the past two nights turbulent dreams.
Looks like being a warm breezy day tomorrow, and I am at home all day, so I look forward to washing all my laundry, hanging it outside and releasing those negative energies into the wind.

Will be the perfect day for broomstick flying!

I also bought myself some plants and a couple of lupins for my flower bed, as soon as the wind dies I will get round to planting them.
The waning moon is perfect for setting those roots in the soil.

I hope everyone is having a magical day.

LongingToBeByTheSea

Just catching up and reading about your bracelet.

I agree with the others- do what seems right to you.

If you hold it in your hand it may tell you what it needs.

It may seem cleansed after the stint in the washing machine- but you may feel the energies have become chaotic or muddled.

Some stones I never cleanse, some from Sri Lanka that I watched being pulled from the earth, some foraged.
Other stones I need to re energise or cleanse.
I do this sometimes by passing through a flame, or incense smoke, running water, or using sun or moonlight.

Do what feels right- you may decide to do nothingthe sits with you then that will be the right thing to do.

YashmisCrone · 20/02/2019 20:28

I love the idea of harnessing the energy of the elements for clearing and release speakout and am delighted that tomorrow will be a good day to get out on our broomsticks Grin
Really pleased to hear you feeling a bit more balanced.

I’ve recently rediscovered this book that I bought many years ago:

www.goodreads.com/book/show/576136.Celtic_Wisdom

I thought you might like to see these pages Mecury. (Apologies- I can never work out how to attach them in a sensible order!) I think it gives quite a nice overview and ideas to celebrate the seasons.

I’ve got a pear and apple crumble in the oven. I had some fruit that needed using up and I think there’s a part of me clinging onto the last of the cosy winter energy as we move towards the equinox!

I hope everyone’s had a calmer day with less turbulence, or at least some moments of peace amongst it all

I think I’ve shared it before, but I find this very calming and comforting:

That is beautiful music, very soothing, and a really interesting fusion of influences
Sounds of India, Louisiana? Sounds also like Sami music that I love too.

It is divine.

I love it too speakout, it found me via YouTube auto play and I’ve found it so nourishing and soothing.

Turns out it’s a goddess prayer:

I’m going to look up Sami music. Thank you

A beuatiful still morning here, it's been raining overnight, but the air feels soft and mild.

I am up early making lavender candles, just a small batch this morning, I am picking up my DD at lunchtime as she is working this evening, no lectures today or tomorrow and she has an essay to write, so she will be at home in quiet surroundings to work ( and Mum's cooking!!)

Have a bright blessed day everyone.

OP posts:
YashmisCrone · 21/02/2019 09:12

Good morning,

No problem Mercury, hope it provides some food for thought/sparks some ideas

Ah, mum’s cooking speakout, along with the lovely lavender scent- just the magic she needs to get that done!

I seem to have ‘caught up’ with the disturbing dream energy so many seem to have felt recently. An unsettled night with strange dreams- nothing dreadful but unsettling and has left me feeling a bit ‘off’ this morning.

So it’s been a ginger and bergamot bath to calm and lift me and I’m trying to recentre myself before working with people this morning.

I’m listening to that playlist you posted last night speakout, just lovely, thank you.

My tarot pick for the day- the queen of wands- also provides a bit of omph I think.

Hope everyone has a good day

HillsBesideTheSea · 21/02/2019 10:38

Hope the bath worked YashmisCrone

Have a lovely time with your daughter Speakout

Ds is away I have been doing ALLLLLL the things. I made the decision to do two lots of exercise in 2 days. My body is not so very impressed with me so the to do list is looking even more optimistic than before. Working my way through it though and today is a sewing machine, creating day. Would be more restful if we could find the safe place we put the bondaweb Hmm Chaos is still in control here but we are working to tame it. Epsom salt bath, candle and music that speakout and Yashmis would probably not agree is calming Grin

May your days be lovely.

VioletCharlotte · 21/02/2019 11:04

Yashmis sorry to hear you had a bad night. Hope the bath helped. Ginger and bergamot sounds gorgeous.

Speakout have a lovely, relaxing day and enjoy the time with your DD.

Hills pleased you're getting some time to yourself to do the things you want to do. Well done on the exercise!

I'm at work today, but looking forward to a long weekend as I have annual leave tomorrow. I'm going to a gong bath tomorrow night which I'm really looking forward to.

speakout · 21/02/2019 12:22

Glad to see some energies being restored here for some.

Hills I second a well done for the exercise, they body will ajust, it takes some time to be awakened into new demands.

Thursday is not an exercise day for me but the sun and life force feels so high right now that I kicked off my socks and did a 20 minute sun salutation- I could not help myself.
I was in the middle of work- I just dropped everything to launch into some yoga.

YashmisCrone I hope your day balances out.

I have just planted some lupins in my flower bed- it's a haphazard mix of things that have evolved, wild flowers, foxglove, St Johns wort, poppies, every year new thngs just seem to appear.
It's right outside my living room window, the glass goes right to floor level so it can feel like I am living outside ( if the windows are clean enough- usuallu covered with muddy paw prints!!)

That's so funny! I think that applies to all of us on this thread 😂

Queenrollo
That's really pretty, it certainly feels like spring is in the air today!

Speakout
Your garden sounds lovely. I've got a day off work tomorrow so hoping to sort my garden out a bit. I'm not very good at gardening, I don't really know what I'm doing, but would like to have some colour!
