Sometimes we need The Tower.
I don't see it as a negative card, it is certainly associated with a shake up- but that is sometimes needed and desirable.

It need not mean the end of a relationship, but could be an overhaul, a re- evaluation and actually prove to be a really constructive thing.

We can develop ways of relating that are not always healthy- the structures we build can be off kilter or top heavy.
The Tower can indicate some turbulence that can break down structures, give us a chance to re -evaluate, rebuild and modify.
And give way to a better, stronger relationship.

I see the Tower as a positive card.

My belief is that people come into our lives because there's a lesson we have to learn. So even if the relationship was awful, we come out of it a stronger person. It's all part of our spiritual journey

Like Yashmis this really resonates with me too. I was in a relationship that I now know was EA for a long time but in many ways it has made me who I am and it's made me a lot stronger. It also coincidentally put me on the path that led me to a place that felt like coming home and meeting now Dh and that in turn led me back eventually to come back to the craft

speakout · 09/02/2019 17:52

Yes that is so true.

My late husband introduced me to High magic and I am glad for the experience.

Like Speakout, I don't see the Tower as a negative card. A period of turbulence, certainly, but change is often well overdue and sometimes we need something big to happen to make us realise. Without change we can't move forward.

BartonHollow · 09/02/2019 19:18

I know that for a lot of people Tower can be positive change, historically for me it has not been.

speakout · 09/02/2019 19:30

BartonHollow

Your view and feelings are completely valid. Change and distruption can be unsettling and upsetting. I understand.
Please feel supported here. X

OP posts:
BartonHollow · 09/02/2019 19:58

Oh. I do feel supported speak

It's more that I'd love to believe this could be something positive but I think believing in that and not sort of also steeling myself for something bad could lead to a bigger disappointing experience if I wasn't prepared.

speakout · 09/02/2019 20:06

BartonHollow

I understand.
Feeling insecure is not pleasant.
Better the devil you know. I totally realate to that.
Take you time, be kind to yourself, know that bad things will pass.
In the meantime know that we are here. X

Totally agree with the Harry/Darcy conditioning Barton- it’s so entrenched, it’s hard to shake it off.

Also see what you’re saying about not allowing yourself to believe that things could turn out well. It’s certainly a coping mechanism I’ve adopted when I’ve felt raw and vulnerable. I hope you’re able to practice some self care, no matter how small as you go through this. We’re all here for you x

Hope everyone’s had a good day. I’ve done some family visiting and had a chippy tea. Far cry from my recent nurturing with healthy food!

Which reminds me, I made your sambar recipe Kizzy I thought it was delicious. Thank you for that Smile

queenrollo hope your DS is comfortable and recovering well and that you’re able to have a bit of peace amongst it all.

Violet How was your cacao ceremony?

Loyaultemelie I hope you’re comfortable- I’m sure the cats are!

VioletCharlotte · 09/02/2019 22:24

Yashmis it was amazing thank you for asking ❤️ It was such a wonderful experience, being part of a circle of women and sharing cacao, yoga, guided meditation, chanting, singing and dance. The energy was beautiful ✨💕

Hope you enjoyed your day with your family. Nothing wrong with chips now and again!

Barton I'm sorry if you thought I was being dismissive about your concerns about the tower card, I didn't mean to be at all. I hope you're ok x

BartonHollow · 09/02/2019 22:33

Honestly, I'm ok, please don't be concerned I just feel very unsettled in lots of ways.

YashmisCrone · 09/02/2019 22:33

Wow, sounds amazing Violet 💫💥I love hearing about the interesting things you get up to Smile

I did thank you and the chips and curry sauce certainly hit the spot tonight! Just felt like a treat and not cooking Smile

Good evening all,

Just curious if anyone watched 'Digging up Britain' on channel 5 this evening? The episode was about witches in Britain in the 1600's. It was very interesting and has given me the urge to do more research into the history of witchcraft. Much of the episode focussed on the witches of Pendle who were tried in Lancaster. I'm originally from this area so it has extra meaning for me.

I found it so sad that these women were so poor and uneducated and their craft seen as demonic that they were not given a fair trial. How lucky we are to be able to practise what we do albeit quietly and behind closed doors if we so chose.

I too have been building up a chest of resources. I'm not creating an altar as such as I don't wish to worship (rightly or wrongly this is what I associate altars with) but I have a small collection of essential oils, sage bundles, rune stones, chakra cards and candles. I'm sure I'll add more as my knowledge, interest and spirituality increases.

@BartonHollow I hope this time of being unsettled clears soon for you. I agree that these testing times are sent for us to learn from and in turn make us even stronger and I hope this happens sooner rather than later for you so that you can begin to move forwards again.

It has been lovely to catch up with all your supportive posts. I'm so pleased to have found this wonderful eclectic community!

Sadly, there are very few Aboriginal people living around the immediate city area. Schools do teach the children about the beliefs, culture and histories of the indigenous peoples local to this area and people are encouraged to be proud of their indigenous heritage, something that was unheard of just a few decades ago. There are around 500 different Aboriginal peoples across Australia and I have only the briefest of knowledge about their beliefs, traditions and dreaming teachings. I would like to learn more. A friend from nursing school (who later became a midwife here) spent some time learning from Aboriginal families to get a better understanding of their birthing/child-raising culture and healing traditions which must have been an amazing experience.

sockportal · 10/02/2019 09:31

I have strong feelings on the subject of soulmates which surprises everyone I know. I don't believe in them! My husband is my best friend, not my only best friend but the only one I share my body with. We have a similar outlook on what we want our future to be and how we want to achieve it. He is also my greatest teacher and teaches me things I don't know and helps me expand on things. There is also enough of a difference between us that he helps me balance out the flaws in myself. I love him dearly but I don't believe in soul mates, I believe in working and investing I relationships.

@Mistymount I've spent a bit of time in Australia and I felt something move spiritually in me when I was learning about the aboriginals. The thing that struck a chord with me is that we come from s dream time before we are born and go back there after death. I would like to believe that, I thought it was beautiful.

speakout · 10/02/2019 09:33

Mistymount

It does sound a fascinating culture.

I wish more Australians had your respect.

I have close family in Australia- one works in primary health care with vulnerable people and comes into daily contact with Aboriginal people. Her view of these people privately disgusts me.

A wonderful good morning to my witch sisters.

I have energy and optimism in abundance right now, so I am happy to give to anyone who needs it.

It is a beautiful still morning here, not a breath of wind. Frosty and bright, OH is just back from the supermarket with fresh bread rolls and cooking me some breakfast.
DS is up and seems hungover but cheerful.
DD is still asleep and will get to choose dinner ( just home for the weekend)
My mother is getting ready for church, bemoaning the fact she would like to wear trousers as it is chilly, but women must wear skirts.
Apparently.

Good morning sisters,

sockportal your relationship sounds like just the kind of situation I would aspire to in a future relationship. I agree that any relationship takes work and I would much rather have the deep connection that results from this than the rollercoaster of emotions generated in the relationships of my younger years.

speakout lovely to hear of your energy- yes please to sharing! I’ve been procrastinating with a report and really need to get through some of it today!

I have to admit this made me chuckle:

My mother is getting ready for church, bemoaning the fact she would like to wear trousers as it is chilly, but women must wear skirts.
Apparently.

I’m sure it’s exasperating IRL though, to say the least.
Love hearing about your family weekend- magic Smile
I’m due a call from DS today- although he was on a night out and quite drunk when he messaged, so we’ll see if the hangover proves too strong to pick up the phone!

I hope everyone is well/as comfortable as can be and has a little magical sparkle in their day.

Blessed be Smile

VioletCharlotte · 10/02/2019 11:29

Good morning all

Speakout I can feel your lovely energy flowing into the thread. It sounds like a beautiful morning where you are, a perfect day for winter walk.

I'm full of positivity too and excited by new opportunities and doors that are opening for me at the moment. It's a cloudy, rainy day here, but I won't let that dampen my spirits. I'm having a coffee, then off to Aldi. This afternoon I'm going to spend the afternoon at home doing some batch cooking. I'm thinking veggie chillie Smile

Yashmis hopefully your DS will have recovered from his hangover later and will give you a call! I'm sure you miss him loads.

YashmisCrone · 10/02/2019 16:27

Sounds exciting Violet! A lovely energy to be enjoyed Smile

Thank you, I do miss him. It’s funny, like I said before I’m not someone who needs lots of physical proximity to feel connection, so long as I feel connected energetically I’m generally alright. However, the other day I walked past his bedroom door and realised how long it’s been since I went in there to wake him up! I had a bit of a moment.. funny the things that can set you off isn’t it. I think I’ll see him before this year’s out- it’s been 14 months since I saw him off. Bittersweet as I’m so happy for him exploring but it does feel like a very long time!

speakout · 10/02/2019 17:19

Just spent the afternoon in A&E with my mother-a suspected mild heart attack at church.
They are doing more tests, I have just popped home to eat and pick some things up fo her if she is kept in hospital.

Sending love and comforting energy. I’ll light a candle for you now xx
