Good morning everyone, another delicious bitterly cold day here.

I have a busy day of work ahead, just having a coffee in bed before I get up.
This morning I will be making rose and violet candles, mixed with a blessing from Aphrodite.
Thought I may make a curry for tea, I came across an old book of Madhur Jaffrey- it's decades since I tried any of her recipes,, since I was in my early 20s. - and life was not going smoothly!!

Not only will a curry be warming on a frosty cold day, but a nice way to reach out to my past self by using this old recipe book again.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone. I've just got back from walking the dog and finally seen the beautiful moon!

Speakout your day sounds lovely. Your house will smell delicious!

Hope you all have a great day 😊

YashmisCrone · 22/01/2019 09:29

Morning all,

Busy day here too. There’s a definite wintry feel to the day here. I love using scarves to add the colour correspondence that feels right to me when it’s like this. I seem to have a fair few of them in different colours! Red and black for energy and protection today I think.

Violet what a lovely way to start the day. How is your dog?

speakout I love the idea of you using that cookbook- what a wonderful way of working with your younger self. I tried to stretch back to my younger self last night. I clearly remember talking to a past and a future me whilst walking home from school when I was young, so I went there. I sat on the curb with her and talked to her.

Hope everyone can find some magic in their day 💫

FitzsFool · 22/01/2019 09:30

Morning all.

@VioletCharlotte the moon was beautiful this morning. Great way to start the day.

@speakout enjoy your creative day.

Children at school/preschool. Not working today. Have been for a run and intend to spend the rest of the morning indulging in one of my favourite past times: pottering.

Slow, quiet, pottering. With lots of tea. Calm but constructive. And breathe...

Have a great day everyone.

YashmisCrone · 22/01/2019 09:32

Slow, quiet, pottering. With lots of tea. Calm but constructive.

Sounds like my favourite kind of day- enjoy Smile

Happy Tuesday everyone Lovely bright sunny day but frosty.

Planning to make some natural deodorant this morning and then lunch with friends.

Should be a nice day.

BeyondShattered · 22/01/2019 09:58

Lovely frosty day here today - very crisp.

Date did go well last night, I think. Time will tell if she agrees! Weird coincidence, I've been having lots of signs in eg my cards of an upcoming pregnancy. To which I have responded every time with HAHAHAHAHAHAHA... NOPE. Not a chance!

Anyway, date last night says she has just been approved for IVF due to health problems. Is this the baby that keeps popping up in my future...? Shock

Elphame · 22/01/2019 10:38

BeyondShattered Glad the date went well. As for the baby well.... stranger things have happened!

IsBadLuckaThing · 22/01/2019 11:16

Speak out- Sound like a wonderful start to the day.
I am really drawn to the idea of magic. I would like to explore more. Is there a way I could join in person?

speakout · 22/01/2019 11:19

Hi, I hope you are having a good day too.

Many of are solitaries, it is possible to walk a fruitful path alone.

THose of us on this thread live far and wide.

You may have some local moots- check facebook.

OP posts:
queenrollo · 22/01/2019 11:48

IsBadLuckaThing definitely worth checking facebook for local moot/pagan groups. I am a member of my local FB groups, but I never go to meetings or collective rituals as my path is very solo/intuituve. Lots of people do enjoy practicing as part of a group though.

Such glorious bright sun here this morning, but very cold outside. I have my Rayburn going but need to light woodburners as my old house needs a heat boost.

speakout · 22/01/2019 12:14

queenrollo

Yes. i'm the same- I do contribute to local chat groups, but I don't attend.
I like my own little merry path.

OP posts:
speakout · 22/01/2019 12:21

I imagine if you meet others that have a similar mindset then group working would be lovely.

Over the years I have attended moots, been part of two covens, but always found some individuals with negative enery seeking control, eager for power and bolstering their own svengali type egos.
Maybe I have just been unlucky.

I prefer to work alone, I don't have to compromise my style.
I do group working - regular yoga, drumming, pagan art with a few friends, so I get my fix of real life spiritual connection, just not to do with witchcraft.

IsBadLuckaThing I'd advise you to slow down and read a lot first to understand what it's all about before you even know what sort of groups you might want to join in with IRL. There are loads of book recs on our previous threads.

It's cold today, need to scrape a load of ice off the windscreen before we can even set off.

Forgot to say yesterday I did get up at 5am and see the total lunar eclipse which was amazing, the moon was the colour of a glowing polished copper coin and the energy was amazing.

speakout · 22/01/2019 13:03

BlankTimes

Wise words.

I would echo that.

IsBadLuckaThing take some time to study, to learn.
And be wary of others! Even if you find a group your path is not their path, and there are some unscupulous people out there who may want to mis use your power, your intentions or your money!

Take some time to yourself.

@speakout it took me a long time when first starting out to realise that it's now what you buy, read or join it's about realising your own potential. And then the true journey starts....

FilledSoda · 22/01/2019 15:02

Afternoon everyone , I've been catching up on the new thread , things move quickly around here .
I was up early yesterday to catch the blood moon , unfortunately we were covered in a blanket of cloud .
The photos were quite something though.
I'll catch up properly soon , there's never a minute. I'm typing this in a car park .

Lovely to see you again. Hope all is well.

Speak out - I agree
Blank time- I have been try to doing some reading but I will need a lot of research.

I am going through a rough patch. I am experiencing what medically can be called mental health issues but the more I read about it ,I keep combing back to the possibility of spiritual awakening.

Nothing seems to be going my way. Even every good deed I do, seems to end up causing me so much trouble. Is there any ritual I can do to make it better?

speakout · 22/01/2019 20:04

IsBadLuckaThing

I am sorry things are tough right now.

Things seem confusing and muddled.
I would work on getting your foundations in place before attempting any spell work or magical workings.

Have you spoken to your GP?
Witchcraft is great, but for medical issues- including mental health I would urge you to speak to a nurse or doctor.
Your physical health needs to be checked and if your MH is an issue then your GP will be able to diagnose and offer help.

Otherwise I would be looking at some simple things to find focus and clarity.
Yoga, meditation, walks outdoors. Pay attention to your diet, avoid toxic people. Immerse yourself in nature.
Cleanse your home- salt water is a good place to start, light some incense or scented candles to fill your home with positive energy.
Avoid dark subjects on screen- don't watch violent or gruesome movies, don't watch TV news.
lListen to uplifting music or chants on you tube.

Light a candle and focus on the positive things in your life- even the simple things life a comfortable bed or a warm home.

THings may take a little time to turn around, but they will.
Once we start to attract positive energy then it will snowball.

Keep talking on this thread.
We are here to help.

OP posts:
BlankTimes · 22/01/2019 20:11

Sorry, I know you don't want to hear this, but no. no rituals, nada.
It's not a quick fix for you or anyone.

You need to be in a good stable place for magic to work, otherwise unintended consequences because you didn't know what you were doing or weren't cognisant of all the implications would more than likely not have a good outcome.

Currently you're in what you see as a bit of a mess and have leaped onto the idea that "doing magic" can fix things for you. Nothing's further from the truth.

Try mindfullness, if you're having a spiritual awakening or not, it won't do you any harm.

The Headspace app is good, otherwise youtube as many mindfulness meditations as you can until you find one that works for you.

Stick with that until you are in a betterplace. Flowers

BlankTimes · 22/01/2019 20:12

Didn't see your reply Speakout, agree 100% Smile

Frostyapples · 22/01/2019 20:14

@IsBadLuckaThing everything that @speakout says, plus I would add that finding things to be grateful for close to home helps me. Sometimes something small like I'm grateful to be warm in bed when it's cold outside or I'm grateful for a warm drink. I find it helps me when I get depressed. Also plan little things to look forward to - even if it's just coffee and cake in a cafe, helps to give something to aim for. My favourite thing is to choose some handmade chocolates which I bless and have a pampering session to honour my physical body.

Frostyapples · 22/01/2019 20:17

@BlankTimes I spent a lot of time when I first started out just sitting and trying to empty my mind. It takes a lot of practice to be able to truly focus. I started this when my DS was 2 and DD 7 months and quite often just fell asleep at first! I still use this skill now when I am shamanic journeying or receiving energy healing.

IsBadLuckaThing · 22/01/2019 20:22

Thank you Speak out & Blank time for your replies. I have been put on medication by my GP. I do most of the things mentioned, apart from the salt water thing which I don't know much about.
I feel as if something dark has over taken my life. I am not very good at expressing but I can feel it in my gut. Sorry for the rambling.
