Well done Tempest

If it's any help for anyone thinking about doing something similar, start simply, you don't need a huge amount of correspondences, often a few will do, 3 is a nice number to choose.

YashmisCrone · 30/09/2018 15:10

InTheTempest Grin I love a charm bag! Something about carrying it around with me that reminds me of the work in progress and strengthens it...

VioletCharlotte · 30/09/2018 15:18

Hello everyone, hope you're all enjoying your Sunday.

@InTheTempest sorry you didn't get to go to Glastonbury, do try and go if you can. I'm going on Wednesday. I've been a few times, but feeling the pull to go again.

I'm waiting impatiently for Amazon to deliver my new Everyday Witch tarot cards 👏 Thanks for the recommendations. I've got a week off work so planning lots of witchy things that I don't normally have time for.

TooManyPaws · 30/09/2018 15:19

physica

I do! One in particular who is a consultant and head of department. Also several nurses, male and female. Obviously not all of them will be 'out of the broom closet' at work though.

YashmisCrone · 30/09/2018 15:20

So, wise women,

Can I ask for your input?

I gave in to my yearning for the Everyday witch cards (I fell in love with them the first time speakout shared them here and had been thinking of a new deck for a while now)

I’ve had a lovely connection with them and usually have no trouble receiving their messages.

Today my intuition just isn’t doing it (ironically, given the presence of the moon)

I’d be interested to hear any thoughts/intuitions about the message they may have for me (thinking about the coming week)

I don’t really use the three cards in a past present future kind of way but just like to pull three and usually read them as one complimentary message of that makes sense?

YashmisCrone · 30/09/2018 15:21

Grin Violet! X posted with you about the same tarot deck

I don’t think the picture attached to my previous post

Violet I can't wait to go, such a long time since I have been. Can't wait to buy a few bits and hopefully some books.

I'd love to learn Tarot at some point. Not the same at all but I've been looking up my horoscope lots today and my astrological birth chart. And I'm convinced now all the turbulence in my life is my first saturn return.

Elphame · 30/09/2018 16:10

Can thoroughly recommend lavender scented apple jelly! I ate half the test jar whilst testing for a set (!). I just need to juice another 10lb of apples for a full batch now. I may need more lavender flowers....

boldlygoingsomewhere · 30/09/2018 16:15

Yashmi, those cards look to me like someone weighed down by dark thoughts or depression, unable to clearly see the achievements and celebrations of the past. The Moon points to the illusionary nature of this - the half-light of the moon makes us see things in the shadows which aren’t really there. Subconsciously, feeling that you don’t deserve the good things and getting lost in that negative spiral.

Ignore if it’s way off-beam. Smile

VioletCharlotte · 30/09/2018 16:40

Boldly I interpreted Yashmi's cards in a similar way. Lots of sadness there and feeling alone. But you can take heart, as you have a good support network around you. You just need to reach out and let people help you. It's a time for reflection. And you're stronger than you think.

VioletCharlotte · 30/09/2018 16:40

I'm a novice though, so may be way off! Grin

YashmisCrone · 30/09/2018 16:58

Thank you boldly and Violet

Yes, the cards make sense to me now- thank you Smile

Bellecose2 · 30/09/2018 18:24

@Yashmin...In addition to that, I wonder if you have/or are dealing with the effects of some kind of deception?

YashmisCrone · 30/09/2018 19:18

Bellecose I think I know what you’re picking up on there, thank you.

How did your apples turn out?
I also like the sound Elphame’s culinary creations!

Has anyone got any rosehips ready to use yet?

Elphame · 30/09/2018 19:47

Has anyone got any rosehips ready to use yet?

I was just thinking that my local ones are about ready now you come to mention it.

user1457017537 · 30/09/2018 20:00

I must apologise I have no idea how my post on conspiracy theories appeared here.
Sorry ....

YashmisCrone · 30/09/2018 20:01

I seem to have a mixture- on the rose bush with the longer, more red hips some seem too ripe, others still hard.

The rounder ones have turned orange in the last week or so.

I remember picking them as a child without this much deliberation!

Bellecose2 · 30/09/2018 20:14

@ user1457017537 Grin I must admit, I was a little baffled but thought I'd just missed a few posts.

@Yashmin... Thank you, the apples were delicious. I wonder, do you all work magic/spellwork into your food? I know so little about that. I'm kind of fixated on candle work for spells. Other than using salt/rice etc around my windows, I don't do much else. I will try that bay leaf tonight though.

Bellecose2 · 30/09/2018 20:16

... Ah, except my obsession with sigils of course. Though too soon to tell if any have worked.

user1457017537 · 30/09/2018 20:53

The funny thing is I haven’t even opened this thread for a couple of days so I have no idea how it happened!

I love the thread but have just not had anything to add and feel that my powers have deserted me! Lol

Physica · 30/09/2018 21:20

What are you all doing with the rosehips? There is an amazing bush of them on one of my local shuffling running routes and I was contemplating picking some to try making rosehip oil. They're still quite hard, but worried if I wait the birds will have them all! Is there anything else worth trying with them?

Galatea3 · 01/10/2018 02:16

I have been lurking and thought I'd introduce myself. I have never called myself a Witch but I suppose that is what I am.

My family and friends know nothing of what I've been up to (on and off) all these years, I'm not sure if I'm embarrassed to tell them or if this is something that is for me only and that is why I feel the need to keep it to myself.

I have been drawn back into this recently after a heinous person caused me a painful experience which left me feeling quite dejected. I prepared myself for a few days before casting and had a positive spell result within 2 days. I am now back in the zone :)

I cultivate herbs, forage weeds, make tinctures, ointments, teas etc. I don't always feel the need to use typical witchcraft "stuff", I believe that a lot of these items are to mentally prepare the user, who holds the power - but reading some of these posts sometimes makes me want to get some :)

I use one natural quartz crystal that was given to me by an Eastern European woman that I met with only once. She knows very little, if anything, about me and it still intruiges me as to why she chose to bring me that gift. I also have one pack of Tarot cards that I have had for around 20 years, although I haven't used them in a very long time. I have precognative, intuitive and empathic traits, which I sometimes wish I didn't have.

I really don't know much about Witchcraft other than what I feel, think and do, I haven't read much or had anyone pass any knowledge on to me.

Hi all :)

Elphame · 01/10/2018 10:19

Hello Galatea3 and welcome!

Physica I make hedgerow jelly from it. If you are going to make rosehip oil I would strongly suggest the slow cooker method but if yours is as fierce as mine to put the oil and rosehips in a large glass jar and surround it in water so it doesn't get too hot. I'd also suggest adding some vitamin e oil to help stop it going rancid and some rosemary essential oil to reduce the possibility of bacterial growth. You don't want to be spreading anaerobic bacteria on your face.

Physica · 01/10/2018 13:19

Thank you for the tips Elphame - spreadable anaerobes sounds less than delightful. Very timely reminder to engage the scientific bits of my brain when having a go at these things!

And @TooManyPaws that is interesting. I also know a consultant who I suspect dabbles in the craft but is very definitely not out of the broom closet. A few things she’s said have made me wonder though!

sockportal · 01/10/2018 13:48

Can I ask a question about tarot? Do they come with a little book teaching you how to interpret them? I'm interested in getting some when I find the right ones but wouldn't know where to start.

I'm procrastinating from looking for a job by thinking of art activities to share with my 11 month old daughter using things found in nature.
