speakout I hadn’t realised that the video we were talking about yesterday was part of a 3 part documentary series. I watched the other two last night.

I found The Burning Times harrowing but I learnt from it.
I also hadn’t made the connection of these videos with Starhawk or the Reclaiming community previously mentioned here!

Morning ladies, I will have a catch up of this thread later on today.

I have an abundance of energy today and may take a certain matter that has been playing on my mind into my own hands, grab the bull by the horns so to speak. It may go wrong but life is too short is it not? I have done all non-magical things to influence it, what good they will do I don't know! Can I please ask for positive vibes in my matter?

I didn't make it to glastonbury yesterday but plan on going as soon as I can. Haven't been for 10 years so I'm excited about it.

I wouldn't know where to start as I am so inexperienced, have no resources to hand really. I want to try a spell soon but I suppose I feel it wouldn't be respectful before I have refreshed myself on lots of things and have some more understanding again. I have just been trying to focus all my energy, like I did before, and hope for the best.

A spell can be as simple as lighting a candle and reciting some words.

You may wish to cleanse and consecrate a space, or draw a circle for protection- but that isn't always necessary.

Apart from the scrying, knotwork divination etc I did with my gran I didn't perform and spells as a child.

I did my first spell when I was 13. I had a schoolgirl crush on a boy in my class at school.
My gran told me to file my nails and put some of the powdered dust into his drink and wrote down a short incantation to say.

I thought it hadn't worked- he moved away, left and went to a different school, we lost touch, until a chance meeting at the age of 17 we met at a holiday park hundreds of miles away- had a holiday romance and lost our virginities to each other under the moonlight.

I'm a bit worried that I won't get the chance today after all, to try and achieve what I wanted. I looked up charm bags, as an extra thing to do, but the problem is I have nothing in the house of use to put in one! Grin

What about your kitchen cupboard- do you have any spices? You will have salt. You may have cloves or bay leaves?
Look in your garden- the goddess often leaves me treasures to find there- feather? Pretty stones? Pine cones? Berries? Interesting pieces of wood? I found a pile of shells in my local wood recently- even though I am 5 miles from the sea!!

I have a little bag, some cinnamon. A silver earring! Tried to find corresponding things. My garden is a horrendous- so small with nothing growing now unfortunately. I could get some salt too, and perhaps some other herbs with the right correspondence.

I've added star anise too. Not sure if I am starting to lose my courage a little now though, and that has to come from me, not magic! And the chance just hasn't arisen yet and may not today, and when I will get another I don't know.

Ah well, what will be will be and all that.

The fear of it not going how I want is getting a bit stronger though. And the opportunity arising is unlikely- very tricky situation.

I love this thread though. Such a great place of support and good fun as well. Lets see if my first attempts in magic in nearly 20 years bear any fruit. There has been some strong energy around me recently, I'm convinced of that.

InTheTempest In addition to the earlier suggestions it will boost things in your favour if you can convince yourself whatever you want to happen has already happened. If you can believe that for even a split second it will give you a real magical edge.

I'd write down what I wanted to happen on bayleaf from my kitchen cupboard and burn it in a small dish to release it to the universe. If you don't have bayleaves then even a piece of paper will do.

Elphame thank you for the suggestions- I have done the bay leaf thing. It didn't burn amazingly well but I scattered the little pieces to the wind and the intent was there anyway! Doing all I can to convince myself it has happened. The apple jelly sounds fab by the way!
