Hello and welcome. There are several things you can do to protect yourself and your home. Is it your marital home that you're living in? If it is, make sure all his things are out of the house. Clean or spritz anything you're keeping with salt water. Go round with a broom (even if you have carpets - it's the action and the symbology) and sweep each room from the corners to the door, from the furthest point from the front door, and then sweep all that negativity right out of the house. Clean around all the openings (fireplace openings, windows, doors, vents etc with salt and water. While you're doing that, concentrate on nothing negative can get past. One old charm is a rowan wood cross tied with red thread above doors and on the chimney. Another old one is to bury a bottle of nails and your own pee under the doorstep as a barrier but that might be a last resort 😂

It's coming up to the right shopping season to buy nice big reflective balls to work as witch balls. Hang them in your windows to reflect the negativity back. You can do a lot with mirror magic, even hanging a mirror to face in the direction of negativity will help.

To protect yourself, build your shields. A lot of people like to imagine a wall, or armour etc. I like to see mine as either an iridescent bubble or a reflective sphere around myself, bouncing everything back. You need to work on this mentally until you can feel them protecting you, bouncing stuff back, letting it whoosh over your head without touching you, while also working on how to stop people pushing your buttons.

I hope this helps. To rebalanced the energy in a room, use sound. Go to each corner and around the edges of a room while simply clapping your hands, right up into the corners and ceiling as well. It's amazing how much less stagnant the energy in the room will feel like after that.

@geeneverthoughofthat I read somewhere (I read so much that I can't always remember where) that a lot of magic is like a series of coincidences. I like that description. It seems to match your own experiences too.

Have been really drawn to some of the images posted on the thread too. Love the sky at night and the moon. Wish I lived near a forest or woodland....

You say you don’t know how your issue will end “but I know where to draw my strength and comfort from.” Which makes me think - that’s all any of us can aim for really?

Absolutely!

We all have stones in the road. It's how we deal with them that we can work on.

Yes, and a lot of magic leaves you wondering- Did that really happen ?

Sometimes the results of spell work are manifest in ways that we don't expect- only when we look back we realise that the change has worked- sometimes that change is manifest in the way we need it to rather than the way we wanted it too.

Sometimes results of spell work can be hugely dramatic, knock you sideways type of thing, but more often than not it is just tipping things in the way you want them to go, and we must remember about the sphere of availability.

No magic will be able to build us an igloo on the moon, but may tip things in your favour for a job inteview.

Here here! Thank you for the reminder- I needed it too!

I popped in last night to read the latest in a particularly ‘blumph’ mood after a tough day. Your words to others here were a great comfort to me speakout- very soothing and reassuring. Thank you Flowers

It’s a beautiful day here today- bright blue skies but with a lovely crispness in the air.

Wishing everyone a good day Smile

You are very kind.

Have a magical day.

I am supremely grubby and cobwebby as I am clearing our garage out. Many apologies to the eight legged friends, I do dislike disturbing their homes.
I am manifesting positive energy in there and trying to promote flow. It seems we do this job annually and somehow it all builds up again. I want it to be a more usable space.

This is the first day since July that I have been at home completely alone, with no committments and I feel glorious. It is the serenity and solitude I have been craving so badly.

InTheTempest · 26/09/2018 14:06

speakout thank you for your PM.

TooManyPaws thank you for all your advice. It is the marital home, sadly I can't get rid of all his stuff yet (tempting as it is to bin it, sell it or whatever). I'm hoping to be leaving here asap as well and cannot wait to move on with my life. I'm anxious about what it holds but excited at the same time. I really feel I have found this again at the right time.

After such an awful year I would love to have something nice happen and something to look forward to. Recently there was a little glimmer of hope but sadly that was extinguished, with no explanation, as soon as it began. Without going into too much detail, it was one of the experiences I mentioned that I had been willing so strongly to happen. Asking out loud repeatedly, and feeling such an energy of wanting the situation to happen. And then in the strangest circumstance it actually did. Is this magic? Or just coincidence? It really makes me wonder.

YashmisCrone · 26/09/2018 14:55

queenrollo your energy does feel glorious Grin it’s tangible when I read your post!

InTheTempest
Coincidence following the focussed intention of asking is magic IMO. Manifestation of what you asked for. I’ve tried to switch my focus from ‘really wanting’ something when I ask to kind of creating a feeling like I already have it- generating the energy of what I’m asking for if that makes sense. But that’s just me- I’m quite into the whole ‘law of attraction’ ‘like attracts like’ theory. It seems to work best for me.

It certainly sounds like you’ve harnessed some powerful energy to work with Smile wishing you strength and positivity in your new stage

I’ve just listened to this on my (late) lunch break

mandylehto.com/moxiecast-027-come-home-to-go-big-with-kendra-cunov/

It’s not specifically witch focused but about tuning into your inner knowing as a woman. I thought I’d share it hear as we’ve had some conversations about trusting our intuition etc so it feels relevant

SecretWitch · 26/09/2018 17:07

Hello, Sisters! I want to thank you all for your good words yesterday. Things have resolved in a much more positive manner than I was expecting. I will continue to work on that which I can change (setting my intention in print!)

My oldest daughter is interested in practising the craft. We have had many fabulous conversations in the subject. I’m thinking of inviting her to my Samhain ritual. Having a think on that.

Sending lots love and good thoughts to my fellow Sister Witches ✨✨

InTheTempest · 26/09/2018 17:14

YashmisCrone thank you, I will have a listen to that later this evening. So fascinated by the idea that I might have caused or willed the 'coincidence' to happen. I do believe in magic, in something else. I had been joking about the thing that I wanted and what I was going to do, and then in the strangest of circumstances, the opportunity was actually put right in front of me, and the chances of it had seemed so unlikely. And it was great to start with! But then things haven't exactly gone as I would have hoped. I'm not sure if it is related to my (admittedly off-putting) circumstances or something else. I guess I was just hoping maybe if I willed something to happen before, could I repeat it with the same success? I guess after going through such a horrible time with my stbxh and feeling like I had lost all control, I am keen to have control again, and find ways to positively influence my life.

Sorry I don't mean to talk all about myself, I love reading everybody else's stories and experience. It has been so inspiring and calming for me, and given me hope and enjoyment. I just have many questions about my own life right now and you are all very wise!

speakout · 26/09/2018 17:54

Evening- lovely to hear of all this energy here.

Coincidence or manifestation?

Most times we can never be sure.

Sometimes the results of my spell work have been so profound and so dramatic that there there is no doubt in my mind.
Other times results are accompanied by a sign, which is far too meaningful so suggest anything other than spell work is at play.
Sometimes things just go the way I had used my intention- may have happened anyway so we cannot be sure is we have influenced the dice.

More often than not it is clear to me when I have a magical manifestation.

Hello everyone. I love coming to this thread after work and catching up. It's such a positive place, so much energy and wisdom. I'm off to my spiritual development group tonight so let's looking forward to whatever learning that brings.

Bellecose2 · 26/09/2018 18:57

@Tempest I've talked about this before so apologies to other readers but I think the craft enables focus and clear intent. Whereas, daydreaming, wishful thinking can manifest but it can be haphazard and give outcomes that are not good for us in the long term.

I knew (way before I knew anything about the Craft) that I could never dare to daydream without controlled focus about a future event because I knew from experience that it would happen in some form, but not how I liked. It annoyed me because I love fantasy and daydreaming but I realised I couldn't do it safely. Very hard to give examples because this isn't a private forum, but I've had some horrendous outcomes and it's always a deja vu experience for me. So weird.

I'm still very careful with my visualisations and stick to words, symbols. Tomorrow I will be going somewhere that I daydreamed about for years. I didn't even know it truly existed and yet, now, I've been invited to attend a function. It is exactly what I saw myself doing but I am bemused that they somehow knew who I was to extend an invitation.

Ps will heave a sigh of relief if this phenomena has happened to other posters Hmm

speakout · 26/09/2018 19:23

Bellecose2

Yes you sum things up really well there- witchcraft is more than wishful thinking.

Casting a spell takes preparation, thought, structure, we may use cleansing/protection.
The ceremony itself communicates with our subconscious mind, spoken word, chant, focus, candles all serve to clarify our intention.

Evening all. It’s been a rubbish day so time for a nice salt and rosemary oil bath I think.

Thank you to @Bellecose and @Speakout for your wise words about coincidences. I’m certainly starting to see a series and it has opened a whole new thought process for me.

I’m going on holiday soon and hope to have the chance to walk on lonely beaches collecting stones and seaglass. 😊

Have a lovely evening round the Aga everyone!

InTheTempest · 26/09/2018 20:20

Bellecose2 and speakout you are right, witchcraft is so much more than wishful thinking. And Bellecose2, what you have said about the haphazard effects of daydreaming are so true. That is something that is really affecting me right now. It's interesting though to me, several things that I had such a strong, emotional need for, a real desire and longing for, that I put so much energy into 'wanting'- actually happened to me, when the chances of them happening must have been so slim. But then whilst initially I was delighted, they have ended up not going as I would have hoped and have caused me more harm. With my most recent situation, as it hasn't gone the way I would have hoped, I keep wondering if I can 'influence' it to go the way I would like, as I have such a strong feeling I somehow with some kind of 'energy' brought it about in the first place. I don't know what is possible or what is correct though.

Is it the case that a similar thing could happen with casting a spell? I suppose as many things in life, what we want or try to achieve ends up turning out not as we expected or hoped for? Can a spell, made with good intentions, end up having negative consequences?

YashmisCrone · 26/09/2018 20:22

the craft enables focus and clear intent. Whereas, daydreaming, wishful thinking can manifest but it can be haphazard.. beautifully put Bellecose I totally agree with this description and with speakout’s description of how witchcraft and the ceremony involved in spell work connects with our subconscious mind and serve to clarify intentions.
I think for me, it’s helped me practice more mindful and focused intention generally- being aware of the power of intention in this way. Back to the old saying about being careful what you wish for!

Bellecose2 · 26/09/2018 22:24

@InTheTempest Can a spell, made with good intentions, end up having negative consequences?

Not sure if that question was for me or to everyone. I am a novice so not able to answer from any experience. But, yes there are a lot of warnings/first hand accounts about unintentional outcomes. More experienced posters may be able to advise you more than I can.

Physica · 27/09/2018 00:12

Hello, I just wanted to sidle on and wave. I’m slowly working my way through the last two threads. I’ve always been drawn to magic but have very firmly suppressed it as I am(?) Catholic, and was told from very early on that getting involved in anything remotely occult was a Bad Idea. I have been reading and learning though and feel very strongly that it’s a path I want to explore - I’m just finding it hard to reconcile with my upbringing and internal defaults. What has finally prompted me to post is that I have semi-accidentally I think cast two spells in the last few days - both just kind of happened without thinking which I think is NOT a good idea - but both seem to have worked and it has scared me a bit. I’m feeling very much in need of the wisdom and support of some people further along the path than I am. I have nobody I can speak to in real life about this. DH - to whom I usually tell everything - would genuinely think I had lost the plot.

boldlygoingsomewhere · 27/09/2018 07:15

Really interesting to read all the meaningful coincidences. I’ve had a few things like that happen but not often.

One thing I’ve had in the past is the strong sense something bad is going to happen. An example is when my dad went into hospital for a routine dental operation. I kept feeling really anxious and tearful for no apparent reason.
Later that day I got a phone call to say they had found a cancerous tumour during the operation. He was given a terminal diagnosis and died a few months later.

It’s a beautiful misty morning. Went for an early morning walk and the moon looked beautiful shining through the mist.

Physica, welcome to the thread. I can’t advise on the spell side of things myself as it’s not something I do. The knowledgable bods will be along soon. Smile

speakout · 27/09/2018 07:24

Physica

Welcome to the thread. I can hear your trepidation. No one here will ask anything of you, please listen, talk, ask, whatever you feel comfortable with.

My personal view is that we can't accidentally cast spells.
We may have wishful thinking, which may or may have an effect ofn the outcome of a situation, but that is the same for christians, witches or people with no spiritual interest.

I know religious baggage can be cumbersome, but reading will help you to open your own eyes and form an opinion that has not been foisted upon you by an organisation.

I'm sorry for your loss- that is such a powerful story.

My instinct is strong like that too- even when situations seen to the contrary I can have such an overpowering feeling that I just know in my boots I have to listen to it.
And it has become much much stronger, especially now that I am in the crone phase of my life- it's like having a second sight.

Thought you may like to see the christmas/yule/paan cards I have ordered this year- I was asking in the last thread for suggestions.
I chose these- a little fey and nostalgic- maybe inspired by my new Tarot deck!!

@Physica...You don't have to be an atheist to do the craft. There are Christian Witches (Gnostics) who practice. They believe in Jesus, the new testament. However, they reject the God of the old testament. I believe it is only the old testament which condemns witchcraft.
