Or Wiccans. or Pagans? Or anyone who is interested in a magical path or feels some magical stirrings.

A place for support, learning, swapping ideas and magical inspiration

All welcome.

@elphame I was in Alderley Edge woods not long ago. It’s a beautiful place.

DoubleNegativePanda · 13/09/2018 01:07

Hello my lovelies. I'm having a nice witchy day here. My sister gave me this lovely little "watcher" poppet for my car, and a friend whom I had absolutely no idea was a witch sussed it in me and gifted me with this book.

It's been an interesting day, and I feel nice.

@speakout I don't hold with punishment either. I never have and have had a lot of pushback from friends/ex's family as we're in the Bible Belt of the US and it's a very "spare the rod spoil the child" type of place. But my never-been-smacked or given punitive punishments child has grown into a decent almost-adult!

Fitz that all just makes perfect sense. Thank you for the boost that has given me!

Bellecose2 · 13/09/2018 08:00

Yes Fitz, that makes a lot of sense.

The irony hasn't escaped me that I've done far more dabbling before I came to know of the craft. Things like deep meditations, visualisations and so on. In my mind, I wasn't doing spellwork but I think now I was, but sloppily. The majority of times, when I did it for myself it rarely worked or it happened so out of time it was insignificant and/or not needed anymore.

When I did it to help people close to me (good luck or health stuff) there was more success but, of course, can never be sure it had anything to do with me. One thing I am positive of however is that I've witnessed the universe acting in another person's life (even if they don't fully realise it) Last few months have literally blown me away at the synchronisity.... outcomes. Pure magic without a doubt.

Now with the knowledge I'm gaining, I am less inclined to be sloppy. I want the precision. I am aware of the dangers and don't take that lightly. Good intent is paramount of course, but also emotional stability I feel.

Bellecose2 you describe that so eloquently.

Exactly how I feel.

I'm unexpectedly in Glastonbury!

Elphame · 13/09/2018 16:54

Are you liking it MawkishTwaddle ?

I've just got back from Conwy fully stocked up with more beeswax for the year and the phone number of a man who'll keep me stocked up in industrial quantities!

Also had a quick run up to the Druids Circle above Penmaenmawr (Ok long slog actually) but it is such a magical place. It's still being used for rituals (they must be fit is all I can say...) but as usual we were the only ones up there.

I'm in bliss.

GeeIneverthoughtofthat · 13/09/2018 18:19

Evening everyone

Does anyone know anything about a programme on Sky tomorrow?

I just saw an advert on the train that said:-

“Witches Come In All Shapes and Sizes”.
A Discovery of Witches.
14 September
Sky One

BeyondAnOmnishambles · 13/09/2018 18:20

I'll have a look on the app for you now...

Btw, I meant to say good evening!

Not much going on here tonight, I think I'm gonna have a salt bath and go to bed with a book

MidnightVelvetthe7th · 13/09/2018 18:26

Doublenegativepanda those are lovely, you lucky thing :)

I need to go to Glastonbury, I've been to the festival but never the actual place.

GeeIneverthoughtofthat · 13/09/2018 18:29

Thank you @Beyond. Looks interesting. I had half wondered whether it might be a documentary but clearly not.

A salt bath and a good book sounds lovely. I’m still pretty miserable after the weekend so a bit of self care may not go amiss. 😊

speakout · 13/09/2018 18:29

I've never been to Glastonbury, or indeed anywhere in England apart from work places like London/Manchester/Birmingham.

I tend to head North for wild places and ancient sites- or abroad

I have read the Discovery Of Witches series very silly, very soapy, like a mash up of Twilight and Fifty Shades with more witchcraft

That said even though I knew they were desperately trashy and found them compelling and can't wait to watch it 😂Blush

MawkishTwaddle · 13/09/2018 18:39

It's been the most amazing adventure.

I was supposed to be driving back from Exeter to Yorkshire. I had an appointment this evening and work tomorrow.

I write every morning, and in my journal I wrote that I'd love to go to Glastonbury, and if my client cancelled I would go for a couple of hours. If not, I'd accept the decision that my appointment was more important.

Well, tragically there was an accident which closed the motorway both ways. I couldn't get back up North.

The diversion took me within a hair's breadth of Glastonbury. So I decided to turn up here and see what happened.

I've visited the Abbey, and various shops for some witchy things, had my cards read, bought a few interesting books, met some lovely people and I'm now in a bed and breakfast that had a late cancellation.

I'd rather the accident hadn't happened though. Those poor people Sad

Elphame · 13/09/2018 18:47

I know that stretch of motorway really well. I spent 10 years going up and down it every day :( It's far from the only awful tragedy that's occurred on that section. I do wonder what lies beneath there and whether the old Gods still demand a blood sacrifice. If it's not given willingly any more then they take it anyway.

Glad you are having fun - are you staying at the Covenstead? If you haven't been in the George and Pilgrim yet then you need a night cap in there!

GeeIneverthoughtofthat · 13/09/2018 18:55

@Pawnee sounds intriguing!

@Speakout I have also been to some great ancient sites north of the border. Amazing places!

MawkishTwaddle · 13/09/2018 18:59

Yes, it's almost a year to the day that the last horrible accident happened on it.

It seems like such an innocuous stretch of road.

I'm back at the B and B now, eating crisps and reading in the bath! Feels like a holiday from my everyday life.

I'd love to visit Glastonbury and Totnes. Love those pictures Elphame and Gee.

FitzsFool · 13/09/2018 19:37

Interesting to hear Glastonbury being discussed!

I’m heading there for a night away soon. Just me, as a little mini city-break of sorts. I get itchy feet and since having young kids, it’s not an itch that’s been easy to scratch!

A local-ish U.K. location seemed ideal. Glastonbury just seemed....interesting. I’ve heard good things and bad things. I do love the King Arthur legend stuff so I really want to visit the Tor.

However, I’m approaching the whole thing with some degree of cautionary cynicism. With its reputation for ‘woo’ I imagine there is a lot of cashing in on that image.

I’d appreciate any advice regarding what is worth experiencing and visiting and what to be wary of.

DoubleNegativePanda How's the young lad doing?
