Hello lovely witches! Taking a little school break to see what’s happening here..loving all the pictures and discussion of fairs. I had past life reading done once. I thought it was amazing but £££...

Just a quick question to see if anyone has any ideas for me. I have had the same fabulous cleaner for 9 years. She is Spanish and very Catholic. I have had my altar arranged for the past year. She dusts and moves my objects every time she comes. I wish she wouldn’t handle anything in that space. I’ve tried even putting a tea towel over the altar but she just removes to dust. I don’t know what to say to ask her not to dust my things. How can I address this with her? She is very sensitive and has some reservations about cats ( we have four) She ran screaminging from the house when our little mouser dropped a snake on the kitchen floor......

Any advice is appreciated...

Yes many of us have cast spells- hundreds in my lifetime, maybe and I am sure others have too.

And yes most of my spells have worked some to a small degree, others to a huge degree.

All the acts have been educational.

Secret Take her to your altar and say
Este, no tocar por favor. Es Privado

Which means, in my self-taught Spanish, This, don't touch please, it's private.

dreamcatcher00 · 11/09/2018 16:30

Would anyone like to share a spell we could try? X

SecretWitch · 11/09/2018 16:40

@BlankTimes, thank you so much. Perhaps I will write that down and hand it to her at my altar...

@FlowerPower66, I have done many spells in the past thirty years. I have had positive outcomes with all most all of them. I do remember trying to cast a candle spell and things just did not seem right. The candle flame separated in two, the air around me felt very heavy.. I chose to end the spell and close my circle.

Sorry, no, count me out. Other people here may hold different views but group work with people I don't know is just no.

Sorry, I would not be comfortable sharing that here.

You will get a great deal of guidance and advice if you stick around here though.

FlowerPower66 Glad you enjoyed your fair. The only one I've ever been to is the Wytches Market and that's more of a shopping opportunity. There are some tarot readers but I've never had a reading there.

My spells also generally work - not always in the way I have envisaged though especially when I was a novice! I did learn, the hard way at times, to be very precise.

SecretWitch - my cleaner is just scared enough of my altar not to want to touch it! She always says she's left the dresser in my workroom for me. She's not religious though and the witch aspects of cleaning for me don't seem to worry her. Could you put the contents of your altar into a box when she's due and get it back out once she's done?

@speakout that's absolutely fine x

If you would like to spell cast there are lots of resources - great books, good web sites, youtube videos.

Choose something simple that is meaningful to you, try a cleansing or a blessing.

Speakout bet we shared the same expression too Halloween Grin

Sorry dream I echo Speakout's words "You will get a great deal of guidance and advice if you stick around here though."

dreamcatcher00 · 11/09/2018 16:56

I'm really sorry I didn't mean to offend anyone x

BlankTimes · 11/09/2018 17:00

It's not offensive dream just an innocent question from someone who doesn't realise its implications, no offence taken Halloween Smile

dreamcatcher00

Yes, Blanktimes is right- your question does not offend, so no need to apologise.

There are quite a number of reasons that ( I guess) most of us would not want to do that on this thread.

Please stick around, you are welcome here.

Sadly I agree with BlankTimes and speakout. This is really not the right environment for open group workings. I have done some things over the net with strangers very successfully but it was in a closed facebook group so didn't attract the hostility we are likely to get here on MN.

On a different note - has anyone been in TK Maxx recently? I picked up a lovely little cast iron cauldron in the cookware section reduced to £4 and some great glass skull fairy lights which will be perfect for Samhain. They had a nice range of skulls and Day of the Dead ornaments too. Better quality than you usually see.

speakout · 11/09/2018 18:07

Elphame

Thanks for that- I was actually planning to go to TK max tomorrow, so I'll look out for those things!

I just had a look online, but got too distracted by butter dishes and had to close it before I accidentally bought one Grin

SecretWitch · 11/09/2018 18:19

Elphame Thank you for the suggestion. I may plan to do just that! I do really dislike disturbing my altar but I guess I dislike having my tool and objects moved around more...

lonelyfemale · 11/09/2018 20:43

Does anyone know any lost spells? I have been a bit silly recently and have lost quite a lot. I need a spell to get stuff I have lost back.

I also need an undo spell to undo some mistakes I've made or takeway/forget my mishandling of things?

Thanks
Helen

BlankTimes · 11/09/2018 22:02

There are a lot of requests for spells today. Something in the air maybe?

Beginners shouldn't want or need to use a spell for anything that can easily or sometimes not so easily be resolved in the real world.

It's a technique, something that has to be learned. Unless your workings are spot on, you may not get what you thought you wished for. Or put another way, you'll probably get exactly what you wished for, but it may not be what you really wanted or what your think you wished for, because you didn't consider all the consequences.

Example, someone cast a spell for "Everything I could ever need" and that night her house burned down and she lost all her possessions.
If you think about it, her spell worked, because all you ever need is yourself.

With spellwork, you need to consider every angle and remember you're not Willow in Buffy and things don't work like they do in Sabrina the Teenage Witch or Harry Potter.

Lonely you need to look for a FINDING spell if you're intent on using one, but do think through all of the ramifications before you cast it.
If you do one for LOST things, you may end up losing a lot more than you already have.

Re mishandling things, spells aren't a way of absolving you of responsibility for your own past actions. It's probably much easier to face up to whatever it is and sort it out on this plane of existence because I doubt if a beginner would see all the possibilities that could occur with an intention like that.

I'm sorry that's probably not what you wanted to hear, but I've seen too many people who think spellcasting will be an easy way out of a situation they've got into and often it really is not.

speakout · 11/09/2018 22:05

BlankTimes

Spot on.

I agree with all you have said.

OP posts:
BlankTimes · 11/09/2018 22:08

Secret maybe have your altar display on a tray then before the cleaner comes, you can put it in a drawer and after she's been, you can reinstate it more easily than moving all or most of the individual items every time.

GeeIneverthoughtofthat · 11/09/2018 22:10

Evening all. Just checking in to say hi and to sit by the fire awhile and listen to friendly voices. No spells required!

Ours is a rather subdued house at the moment. I’m quietly tending to plants and listening to the rain.

Just wanted to say hi to @Enchanters as I know she also likes to check in and sit with us.

BlankTimes · 11/09/2018 22:29

Thank-you Speakout I did a lot of my learning pre-internet, when you'd have to wait a long time for books to be published or even become available and knowledge took a very long time to find, let alone to understand. To Know, to Will etc. was very much heeded by everyone and I tend to do that as my default even now.

Hi Gee come and sit awhile by the fire, see if you can see any pictures in the flames.
