Or Wiccans. or Pagans? Or anyone who is interested in a magical path or feels some magical stirrings.

A place for support, learning, swapping ideas and magical inspiration

All welcome.

I can't wear watches either.

My OH is not a witch and does not practice magic, but he is called "The Wizard" at work.

He works in IT network support and travels around locally visiting clients to resolve problems.

He can just walk into a room and problems resolve instantly, without him even doing anything.
All his colleagues have noticed this spooky ability.

I also want to be clear if I had not been that my intentions in using the psalms in witchcraft were positive and to take care of myself and not to harm someone else

ThatsNotEvenAWord · 10/09/2018 16:55

After two threads I do feel extremely protective of our space and the people within it!

That’s fascinating about your OH

speakout · 10/09/2018 16:57

It is lovely when we have supportive family.

I feel very lucky to have someone who is so respectful of my craft.

I'm sure one of the witches will advise you more specifically than me but please be careful concerning how you frame your intentions. The other thread I mentioned and linked to upthread details someone who I was close to who got an outcome which was much more than she had intended. I suspect she was too angry with too much passionate intent to cast something more moderate and protective at the time.

Anyway I'll leave you to focus upon happier things.

Elphame · 10/09/2018 17:05

Will do BlankTimes I do have a username on Megalithic Portal. It's one of my go to places if I'm in a new area and want somewhere to go.

Thatsnotevenaword Good question! I only need a few for this year's batch of flying ointment but I didn't want to leave the uprooted ones just to rot on the ground :( It's a fabulous excuse to light the woodburner though as I didn't bring my dehydrator up. I'll give some to the local apothecary I supply sometimes and I guess I'll find some takers amongst my friends. Otherwise I won't need any more for 10 years!

This thread (& the last) has given me so much comfort, warmth, belonging, wisdom, safety & companionship in extremely challenging circumstances. I may not be well enough to post often but I check in every day, make sure the aga is still on and enjoy lying quietly in the corner listening to your individual journies, crafts & photos.

Thank you to you all for keeping it a safe, non-judgemental, calm place for me to visit, strengthen and develop until I can take my place again in the outside world.

EnchantersNightshade

That's lovely to hear.

We value any contributions you make, but if you just want to read then you are very welcome too.

Hi @speakout

I’m with @Enchanters and @Zaphod. I like to check in and sit by the fire listening to the discussion and the contributions made. I really enjoy and value that.

I have found this a very positive and supportive place which has encouraged me to find my own path, in my own way and in my own time. The recent debate where people seem to be trying to force their views onto us or tell us what we are (or are not) is not at all what I have found or experienced personally within this thread.

Thank you all too for your recent kind thoughts.

Enchanters
Here's some more drying herbs. It was taken a few years ago, most of this year's crop is dried and stored now. The marigolds in the image reminded me that I mentioned growing Calendula marigolds a while ago, here's some more info on their uses.
They are "a comforter of the heart and spirits" according to Culpepper. I agree with him.

Enchanters Nightshade I'm glad you're OK, I had noticed you weren't around for a bit x

SecretWitch I'm starting to think about Mabon too, it falls on a Saturday i think so I have the whole day. Going to cook squashes, make butternut squash soup, use gourds for decoration, bake apples with sultanas in the middle etc. Mabon is one of my favourites :)

SecretWitch · 10/09/2018 18:34

@EnchanchersNightshade and @GeeIneverthoughtofthat...I love this space too! All these witchy women are intelligent, kind and supportive.

SecretWitch · 10/09/2018 18:36

@MidnightVelvetthe7th...I love Mabon too! If I’m able I would love to go out to greet the dawn and enjoy that magical misty time early morning has!

KizzyWayfarer · 10/09/2018 19:08

A few weeks ago I noticed five silver birch trees in the park. When I woke up worrying about various things this morning decided to make a trip to visit them. With the trees, the morning light and cool breeze it was uplifting. I’ve never really thought of silver birch as being trees with much ‘personality’ (hope that doesn’t sound weird!) but this little group did. I wanted to share this picture of the oldest, gnarly one.

Kizzy- that's so beautiful.

The birch has a long and magical history, the tree is also know as The Lady of the Forest.

ThatsNotEvenAWord · 10/09/2018 19:36

That’s a lovely photo Kizzy

I’d love to know more about what you more experienced witches do to celebrate Mabon if you don’t mind?

Ittakestwo · 10/09/2018 19:41

I’m still here and reading posts everyday. I’ve Not been able to post much as I’m back in work and trying to get a good routine with cooking and cleaning so I don’t get back in a rut. I’ve signed up for a weaving course which takes place at Mabon. Then in the evening I have a friend over and we are baking bread and pumpkin pie.

Elphame · 10/09/2018 20:26

I don't do much for the Autumn Equinox - it rather goes under the radar for me. It shouldn't as it's a time when the balance shifts from light to dark and it heralds the coming of the dark months but for some reason it doesn't resonate with me. My focus at this time of year is already on Samhain

I'll be interested to see what other people do

MidnightVelvetthe7th · 10/09/2018 20:57

I'm just getting some ideas together about Mabon, when I'm a bit more prepared I'll share. Autumn is my favourite time, it's over too quickly 🍏🍎🍏🍎

SecretWitch · 10/09/2018 21:30

Ohhh, kizzy thanks so much for the pictures! I love Birch trees, they are so beautiful, fragile but strong at the same time. I go see the birches when I need solace.

FlowerPower66 · 11/09/2018 06:52

Below I mentioned I was going to my first well being and psychic fair... It was brilliant
If anyone gets w chance to go and to see John Richardson do he is very good and has a great sense of humour!!

speakout · 11/09/2018 09:45

FlowerPower66

That sounds lovely.

I've never been to a psychic fair, I keep promising myself to go along to one.

OP posts:
PawneeParksDept · 11/09/2018 11:16

I went to a Psychic Fair recently it wasn't all to my taste but I did get my birth chart done which was really interesting and pick up some Clary Sage

FlowerPower66 · 11/09/2018 15:41

They aren't very well advertised tbh
I just googled my area for them.

What I also would like to know is has anyone casted a spell and did it work?

PawneeParksDept · 11/09/2018 15:56

Well the one that I discussed yesterday seemed to but I've never been able to recreate it
