Thanks Speakout. I'm going to yoga this evening in the hope it'll help shift this negativity I'm carrying.

Hope all goes well with your DD tomorrow. I can imagine you're feeling pretty emotional. But very proud too I'm sure Smile

ThatsNotEvenAWord · 06/09/2018 20:50

Ah speakout what an emotional day you will have, all kinds of emotions mixed up together.

My ds1 starts school tomorrow; much smaller scale but a taste of milestones to come maybe!

speakout · 06/09/2018 20:59

ThatsNotEvenAWord

Exactly- a real mix of emotions! Hard to know what to feel.

At least she won't be going far ( 9 miles to be exact!!) and still has a part time job near home.
To tomorrow to move to halls, back to work on Saturday and is coming home for Sunday lunch this weekend,

It's symbolic really the end of her childhood, I am super proud, she has had an amazing year, at school ( head girl ) and dance ( dance captain) and teaches dance at her dance school up to grade 4.

She is a livewire, contantly buzzing about, massive positive energy, but brings with it chaos, messiness, constant need for lifts etc, so part of me will enjoy a calmer home
But I will miss her energy and wisdom.

Of course your DS starting school is an emotional time too- the real start of a new phase, and very poignant for parents.

But enjoy your time too, I have lots of plans for the extra time I will have.

@speakout Momentous day for you and your family. Such a wonderful opportunity for your daughter. I wish her every success and happiness. You will undoubtedly be a little sad at this rite of passage but it is a wonderful adventure for her and a new phase opening up for you.

Zaphodbebblebrox · 07/09/2018 08:21

Sending you love today speakout hope all goes well. And you thatsnot with your LO starting school.
I remember feeling such a mixture of things when mine went off to uni. There was sadness, uncertainty, feeling fraught, pride, relief (!) and a sense that I'd reached a milestone with parenting. I also remember the first day of school clearly too. I look back on all of it with pride now. Wishing the best for you and yours, thinking of you today

Morning everyone! Just caught up with the thread... loving everyone’s input and ideas....
I’m going to try the rowan berry charm with my DD2 as we have one in the garden..... last year we made protection charms with the fallen twigs bound with red wool!
speakout...... I would love if you could choose me a tarot card if and when you have the time.....
I have quite a few decks but don’t do a full spread.... just one... My favourite is a goddess deck.... I often do it for my DD’s.
Does anyone else get a change of mood after reading this thread? Xx

petitepeach · 07/09/2018 08:31

Sorry I missed your news speakout... good luck to all!
It is a strange mixture of emotions......we want them to be independent and confident, but I do feel a pang for when they were little x

Insomma1 · 07/09/2018 09:02

@thatsnotevenaword sorry I missed your post. Good luck for you and your DS on this auspicious day!

GeeIneverthoughtofthat · 07/09/2018 09:04

Thoughts and blessings to @speakout and @thstsnot today. Hoping that all goes well for you both.

ThatsNotEvenAWord · 07/09/2018 09:19

Oh how amazing to come on today to so many well wishes for me and my boy. Thank you.

It’s the new moon this weekend isn’t it! I’ve been keeping up with the moon phases since I joined this chat, the idea of things waxing and waning in tune with the month really appeals to me.

ThatsNotEvenAWord · 07/09/2018 09:20

speakout all the best for today :)

Elphame · 07/09/2018 09:34

All good wishes for those starting the next phase of their lives ( and for their parents too!). Takes me back to loading the car for DD and DS all those years ago. Although we got away with one car load - I think students travelled lighter in those days.

SecretWitch · 07/09/2018 10:20

Morning all! Love and blessings to everyone getting their children off to school! My ds just started uni at the age of 21. He spent ages 18 to now working and traveling. His last big trip ended 10 days ago, he was in Thailand and Vietnam. I’m very proud of all he has accomplished and can’t wait to hear about his university experiences!

Would you all consider sending some healing energy to my beloved cat, Highway? He is battling an upper respiratory infection. The antibiotics seemed to be working but this morning finds him vomiting. He is my most senior cat at age 12. I love him to bits and so want him to be healthy.

Hoping everyone has a lovely Friday! ❤️

Sending healing thoughts to Highway...

queenrollo · 07/09/2018 11:43

Healing thoughts to Highway.

Also thinking of those of you with children going to various educational settings. I Home Ed my eldest but my youngest is in school and it is a transition that I am still struggling with in all honesty.

Yesterday was a bit of a game-changer for me. I have had pain/headaches/illness for over 20 years and finally had an ENT appt yesterday. I have come away with a preliminary diagnosis of trigeminal neuralgia and associated migraine. It's something to get my head around but my overwhelming feeling is of relief at finally being taken seriously by a medical professional and hopefully being able to now manage the pain and the impact on my life.

VioletCharlotte · 07/09/2018 11:47

Love and best wishes to speakout and thatsnot for today. Big days for you both. And sending healing out to Highway Thanks

Elphame · 07/09/2018 11:54

Hope you are feeling better today Violet

As a migraine sufferer myself queenrollo I feel for you. It took me a while to learn my personal triggers and I still get blindsided sometimes. TN is grim though - do you get many attacks? I had a few whilst I was pregnant but luckily only occasionally and only lasting an hour or so but that was bad enough.

blueangel1 · 07/09/2018 12:59

@queenrollo - my sympathies about the migraine, I've had them for most of my life.

Sending healing thoughts to highway.

Just back from getting DD settled into her student accommodation.

Many thanks for everyone's thoughts and kind wishes- they did the trick!!

It was fine, and not nearly as emotional as I thought it would be.
Her best friend came along too, and hung strings on fairy lights ( battery ones) around her bed and desk, helped unpack and organise and generally put a lot of positive energy into her new room.
She met some of her fellow students ( all also student nurses) they seem lovely , a little anxious too, but I am sure everyone is keen to make new friends.
So after a food shop to fill her cupboards and fridge I left her to it.

I thought I would be in bits on the way home- but I was totally fine.

Now home having a coffee, feeling a little tired after humping and shifting so much stuff this morning.

petitepeach- I will ba happy to do a Tarot pick later when I have recovered my mojo after a busy morning!!

For the past year I have seen three faces and other stuff in my marble fire place at first I was very upset and scared... think that's understandable.

How ever I am not now but I would like to remove them as it's a constant reminder of the bad time.

I am not wanting to change the marble as it is beautiful.

Many thanks

Zaphodbebblebrox · 07/09/2018 15:14

Really good to hear how well it went speakout great news Smile
Enjoy your well earned coffee- I'm just sitting down for one too- going to catch up with the thread.

Healing intentions being sent to Highway and love to you SecretWitch Flowers

SecretWitch · 07/09/2018 16:49

So many thanks for all your support! He has not vomited since early this morning. Keeping fingers crossed!

@speakout, so happy you got your daughter settled. Time for you to rest. I have a feeling she is going to do well and be happy Flowers

@queenrollo, so sorry to hear of your diagnosis. Fellow migraine sufferer here too! Finally, mostly controlled with meds.
We also home ed. I’m finding it difficult to get back in the groove this year.

@FlowerPower66, I have no answers for you but will ask the Goddess to send help your way, if that is ok with you..

Thank you all for being so generous and kind. Bright blessings for a happy weekend ✨✨
