@SecretWitch thank you, very much appreciated x

Good news about Highway SecretWitch Smile long may it last

How's your poorly cat doing Gee? Sending healing thoughts their way too..

And to fellow witches who have been feeling under the weather-
how are you feeling Violet? They're probably very obvious things but I swear by hot honey lemon and ginger drinks, steaming with eucalyptus oil, echinacea, zinc and garlic (not together!) for a cold. I hear clove oil works well for toothache..Hope you're feeling a bit better Flowers

Yet another migraineur here queenrollo you have my empathy too. I hope this diagnosis of the cause of yours will lead to effective treatment Flowers

I've been reading through what I've missed in the thread- funny you should mention Uluru Bostin just had a message from my DS telling me he's on a road trip there! He was in awe of the lack of light pollution enabling him to see the Milky Way Shock

Flowerpower if you don't want to paint over the marble I'd work on changing the way you see it. If it reminds you of bad times perhaps do some cleansing work (salt in a bowl to absorb negative energies, smudging with sage or incense that appeals to you) and bless the area (maybe with some water charged by the power of the upcoming new moon) - adding new decorations/items that symbolise positivity to you?

I'm loving the ongoing discussion about tarot/oracle cards. How are you finding the Everyday Witch deck JW1226? They do look beautiful- and so playful.

Beyond I'd definitely go with cards that call you. I've looked at the Wild Unknown before- the artwork is stunning isn't it. I like the look of the animal deck too. The only thing I'd say for the Pamela Coleman/Rider Waite and decks based on it is that the minor arcana also have 'story type' pictures that help you learn the meaning. I use a Celtic tarot deck that isn't like this and when I was learning I did use PC/RW imagery to help me learn the meanings if that makes sense.

I'm looking forward to the lovely gentle fresh energy of the new moon 🌙 to welcome positive manifestations of peace and ease Smile

Blessed be sisters Smile

I am fascinated by your Deities. If I may ask, how did you first recognise them to be Deities? Did they speak /show themselves to you?

This is actually really hard to answer. They have a distinct energy signature though that I came to recognise as divine. Part of my practise is ritual possession and I've seen fellow witches invoke deities. Their faces change, they take on a caste that isn't them and the voice is also different. I got someone to video me whilst I was carrying a Goddess and I don't look or sound like me at all.

I've only had one actual physical manifestation that didn't involve an invocation. It was a few years back during that winter that Somerset was badly flooded. My route home across the levels was impassable that morning and it had been raining heavily all day and conditions were getting steadily worse. I didn't leave work until 10.30 that night and had to take the long way home to avoid the low lying areas.

Unfortunately for me what had been OK at 7.30 that morning was now also under water and I came through a village to find no sign of a road but a huge sheet of water with abandoned 4x4 vehicles up to their wheel hubs. I drive a heavily modified MX-5 which has been further lowered and there was no way I was getting through that. My ground clearance is so low that even speed bumps can ground me.

As I was considering my options ( basically return to the motorway and try and find a Bristol hotel for the night) I was aware that a figure had dropped heavily into the seat beside me. It was a shadowy form but had weight and substance. He spoke to me and told me to drive on through the flood water and we'd be fine. How I got through that water I shall never know but I did. In fact we went through several more heavily flooded patches before I was safely back in my own village. At that point I was told i'd be fine on my own now and he just left....

One of the weirdest experiences of my life!

SecretWitch · 07/09/2018 18:04

Elphame great explanation and fantastic story! Did you feel entirely calm and peaceful the entire time you were driving?

I feel I have two mothers. My earth mother and my spiritual mother. I seek guidance, protection and assistance from my spiritual mother.
The times I have felt frightened and called for her, I felt warmth through my entire body. A voice in my head letting me know I am safe and protected.

I have been working on honouring her consort, the God but I can’t seem to find the same connection.

Insomma1 · 07/09/2018 18:11

Thank you Elphame for sharing that. I witnessed a transfiguration at a Spiritualist demonstration demonstration but I was much younger and it unnerved me. I feel very different now and much more open to new experiences.

Maybe because I sense I've wasted so much time, I am (mentally) crashing through the waves of this subject instead of gingerly putting my toes in. So many more questions for you but I must be patient...

except maybe this one, do you know why you were chosen... (re :your comments on the other thread)?

speakout · 07/09/2018 18:15

Insomma1

Welcome back for this topic.

Sorry for my wariness- Elphame is right, it is better to explore these subjects in a more welcoming environment.

The other thread was making me feel very wary, I don't want to contribute further.

I don't know where you've all come back from but this is a fascinating discussion- I'm glad you brought it here. What a powerful story Elphame!

Insomma1 · 07/09/2018 18:22

@speakout... I understand (I feel a bit like a naughty puppy who wandered off for a time to explore But I'm home now... Smile)

speakout · 07/09/2018 18:35

Insomma1]

No one can tell you where to post.

Christianity makes me nervous.

Being a witch I can't imagine why.........

OP posts:
Elphame · 07/09/2018 18:43

Secretwitch Yes totally. As soon as He showed up I knew I'd get home OK. I'd no idea who it was at the time. I did a day or two later and got a very amused reaction from Him for taking so long to twig.

That little comforting voice is lovely isn't it - I've had it too when I've been really worried and upset - safe and protected is exactly right

Insomma1 The physical change is really shocking the first time isn't it - you don't believe it can happen but it really does. As for me being chosen? I feel incredibly privileged to have been. It was a long time coming but I think I had to wait until the time was right and I was actually ready and eager for the contact.

Once the first link was made it seemed much easier to make contact with others. I know some religions have gatekeeper deities ( Ganesha in the Hindu faith is one) whose job it is is to guide and help the neophyte and He is usually the first one you'd approach as an introducer to others in the Hindu pantheon

speakout - yes I'm wondering where that thread is going.

Insomma1 · 07/09/2018 18:45

@speakout... Grin

Insomma1 · 07/09/2018 18:55

@Elphame... Do you believe they have a purpose in mind for you? I attended a meeting once (I won't name them as they were regarded as a cult) I found them incredibly spiritual, almost ethereal beings with amazing gifts. They had many purposes, which they took seriously.

I didn't join but was grateful for the experience.

Elphame · 07/09/2018 19:03

Yes I think they do - even if it is just to help and encourage me on my own spiritual journey.

I suspect there is another reason too based on certain timings, synchronicity and things that happened subsequently. I can't share it here but I hope I'm doing what they'd like me to. It is however possible that the ancestors are behind that though.

speakout · 07/09/2018 19:16

Elphame that is such an interesting experience.

My father was visited by a presence often in the last few years of his life.

We lived near the site of an old Monk's walk, dating back to the 11th century, it was a walk from the Abbey ( that coincidentally I live within 400 yards of nowadays) to ancient salt pans at the sea,

Monks would make this trek on an old footpath at the bottom of my garden- for centuries,

My father an atheist, no interested in the supernatural, started to have regular visitations from "beings" in hooded cloaks.

Often in the car, sometimes in his bedroom, or outside at night. He was not afraid by the manifestations, but very confused.

He had heart problems, and angina.
He was driving to work one early winter morning, and a monk appeared to him in his car, telling him to slow down and pull over.
My father was startled and did just that- found a safe stopping place.

Moments later he had a heart attack.

Thankfully he was found quickly by another motorist, taken to hospital, and with time made a good recovery.

If he had been driving- a country yet busy and fast road while having a heart attack the outcome may have been very different.

Thanks for sharing your story Elphame.

Evening all.

As ever, I’ve enjoyed catching up on all the discussions here. I don’t feel I have much to contribute tonight. Back to work this week and as a consequence my mind feels like minestrone soup!

Whenever I light candles now, I find myself projecting well wishes to others when I blow them out at the end of the evening. Often a blanket wish for warmth and support to all on this thread.

I don’t know if that’s a bit woolly and not specific enough to have any impact, but it feels a positive thing to do. I’m still very much only dipping my toes!

Happy Friday everyone.

FitzsFool · 07/09/2018 19:53

speakout and elphame, your experiences are fascinating. Thank you for sharing.

speakout · 07/09/2018 19:58
  • I find myself projecting well wishes to others when I blow them out at the end of the evening. Often a blanket wish for warmth and support to all on this thread.

That sounds lovely.
It's not woolly, it;s a loving thing to do. It sends positive energy and may help those in need, wider concerns, help global issues. That candle may help someone at a turning point in their life, show a way out, light a positive way.

I think it is a beautiful thing to do.

Zaphodbebblebrox · 07/09/2018 20:03

I agree Fitz, it's a wonderful thing to do. Everyone's loving and supportive intentions are a big part of what makes this thread feel so safe, positive and uplifting. Your candle wishes will be having a positive impact on all of us.
Thank you Flowers

SecretWitch · 07/09/2018 20:06

I was once told on a christian thread my spell work was dangerous and damaging to others. I tried explaining I dont (my choice) do spells on anyone without their consent. I also stated I adhere (again my choice) to the Wiccan Rede.

Christian threads about witches are often filled with so much fear and disinformation. I don’t feel safe with some of them.

SecretWitch · 07/09/2018 20:08

Fitz I agree it’s a lovely and loving thing to do! I may start incorporating this into my candle work..

Elphame · 07/09/2018 20:09

Your Dad's story is fascinating speakout. Obviously otherwordly beings appearing in cars is a bit of a theme. I hope he made a good recovery. Did he continue to see the monks afterwards?

I agree with everyone Fitz some of the best magic is little magics like that :) Thank you

speakout · 07/09/2018 20:14

Elphame- he continued to see his " companions" until his death.
He had several heart attacks and angina, so had periods of ill health in the last few years of his life.

He came to regard these manifestations as very benevolent.

ThatsNotEvenAWord · 07/09/2018 20:21

This thread is truly full of warmth, and some really fascinating stories tonight.

I’ve mixed up usernames now but sending good wishes for poorly pets and migraine sufferers and anyone else who needs them, sorry if I’ve left people out.

Fitz I actually do a similar thing when I blow out candles, like you’re sending intentions out with the smoke! Makes total sense :)

speakout · 07/09/2018 20:25

Hi, sorry I haven't done a tarot pick yet, still feeling a bit more tired that I thought I would be, and would prefer to be in an energetic state.
I will do it over this weekend.
