Daily Gratitudes 2018

A new thread for a new year.

A safe, quiet place to pause, breathe and count our blessings, great or small. Everyone is welcome: of all faiths or none at all, whether you post regularly or just once, whatever you are grateful for, you are welcome here.

We would love to share all the things that bring us joy or just make life a little more bearable.Flowers

Loving my in laws; feeling lucky to be part of a brilliant family and enjoying seeing them with their grandson.

Silly loving drunken messages from honeymooning friends.

Looking at our wedding pictures together (it’s our anniversary) and feeling full of gratitude and delight, even though our first anniversary involved an extremely posh meal in a snazzy hotel, and this one involved someone in our household doing an actual poo on the floor at breakfast time (so also: thank goodness for tiled floors, and also I have learnt about the wisdom of leaving nappies off too long)

DD is getting the medical health she needs to get better

We have the option of being able to go private and provide her the support she needs

Despite the illness she has done really well in her exams

A posh lunch

Laughing to the point of near collapse with friends who have seen us through thick & thin (&appear to like us anyway Wink)

Reminiscing and realising how many tough times I’ve got through in one piece. Feeling proud and glad and strong.

And yes to the unadulterated joy of a dancing baby. He sticks one index finger in the air, and his tongue out, and it’s my favourite.

Verbena87 · 19/08/2018 21:17

Help from my husband when I needed it, without having to ask.

lessstressed you sound so warm about not only your kids but their friends too. My folks were the same when we were in our teens and now our friends are their friends too and go over for dinner/a gossip even if my sister and I aren’t around. It’s a lovely thing Smile

Walking by the river and through the woods and the whole landscape feeling abundant and alive: dragonflies and ants and spiders and birds and rabbits and fungus and flowers and acorns - summer and autumn colliding.

Having time to potter about cooking.

Filling another charity bag and giving myself (false) hope that one day I will live an uncluttered life.

Verbena87 · 22/08/2018 16:51

Banana muffins

Lovely things in the post
