A new place for us to share the lovely, silly and annoying things that happen in church life and share our great love of Graham Kendrick.

Back ours doesn't take long to warm up, it's definitely worth it!

BlessThisMess · 07/12/2016 23:32

Just went to home group and we sang 2 GK songs. I thought of you all Grin

SilenceOfThePrams · 08/12/2016 16:21

MadHair if you puff rend collective do you get a campfire?

nickelbabeinamanger · 08/12/2016 17:16

I don't think they can wait another 2 years :(

The lighthouse makes sure you follow a good route and therefore steer away from tthe nasty rocks so you can get safely to shore.

Yes, NV leaving. 3 years in feb. I think.
I was upset because he'd been part of the support network that was being put in place, but after this whole fiasco with the pcc being above the law and him being the chairman, quite frankly I'm just angry at him and grateful that he's going.

Madhairday · 08/12/2016 18:03

Prams Grin or possibly see Shining Stars?

Nickel I know, it's just not literal Grin sorry about nv and the annoying pcc etc. Sounds like you've been treated really badly Sad

Here's a naice song to cheer you up.

I actually like this one for Christmas...

nickelbabeinamanger · 08/12/2016 21:24

I'm not sure I want to listen to that Shock

Dutchoma · 08/12/2016 22:15

I did listen for 1.18 minutes and I do not like it. Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang , bang. But I did try.

niminypiminy · 08/12/2016 22:35

I don't think it's GK's finest hour. And I do like some of his songs.

And now for something g completely different - probably as marmite in its way as GK - that I've listening to today.

Yes, that won't be everyone's cup of tea, but it is mine Preferably in a mug.

amammabear · 08/12/2016 23:12

Had another lovely choir engagement tonight. Just a small group as not a big enough venue in for our whole choir bit it was really lovely

niminypiminy · 09/12/2016 08:30

I was thinking of you, Oma, when I posted it.

Dutchoma · 09/12/2016 08:31

Thank you *Niminy^. We must try and catch up some time.

thegreenheartofmanyroundabouts · 09/12/2016 15:08

Lovely bit of Byrd there. Just what I need after joining in the church polishing team for the pre Christmas buffing of the pews.

nickelbabeinamanger · 09/12/2016 22:07

Lovely, niminy thank you :)

I've had a goodish day today, still weird not fighting with dh about whose turn it is to go to choir.
But very nice that actually, Friday evening is sit down and watch telly GrinShock

And dd and next-door-friend filled all of our stockings (christmas) with random stuff from round the house - very cute indeed!

autumnboys · 09/12/2016 22:31

Can I join? CoE Parish administrator by day, worship team member by night (and Sundays, obviously).

Happy clappy New Wine sort., although raised in traditional CoE, singing in choir robes. Current ear worm 'now the green blade riseth' because we've been singing the Christmas version of that tune in community choir. In church we have a Worship band, screens, kingdom coffee served in paper cups from the big thermos flasks. Chose LOTW for my set list this week. Listening to GK's Dreaming of a Holy Night & Rend Collective's Campfire Christmas in the car.

amammabear · 09/12/2016 22:59

Autumnboys "Listening to GK's Dreaming of a Holy Night & Rend Collective's Campfire Christmas in the car."

Ooo! "Trots off to the iTunes store..."

nickelbabeinamanger · 09/12/2016 23:05

Oh dear!
Grin
Welcome aboard autumn

Talking of New Wine, is anyone going in July? Dd and I are. Loads are going from supportive church and I've agreeed to go. Only so we can use the tent, mind.
They all keep saying I'll hate it!

identitychange · 09/12/2016 23:16

What's the song "I believe in the things I cannot see...". It's new, last 2-3 years maybe? I keep thinking it's the creed one, but it's not.

identitychange · 09/12/2016 23:18

(Using other name change, sorry, not just flying in randomly to ask about songs. Posted about mugs before).

Potentially NW, but in Kenya with IcFEM for three weeks and soul survivor so haven't booked in yet

autumnboys · 09/12/2016 23:19

Nothing like being told you'll hate it to help you look forward to it.

I like it a lot, partly because I can slouch into a meeting by myself and just let go a bit. It's quite hard (for me, anyway) to do that at home when I work and worship in the same place. The kids all love their groups. Ds1&2 will be on scout camp this year and are sad to be missing it. It will likely be just ds3 (7) & 1 at week 2 if we go. DH usually comes but he's on a project which completes over the summer this year.

I find the village camping with the church slightly mixed. It is lovely and I have deepened many friendships there - but it is a bit tiring for introverts and I was painfully aware of having my less than stellar mothering moments on display.

Dutchoma · 09/12/2016 23:25

Nickel you'll hate it.
Welcome autumnboys.

BlackeyedSusan · 09/12/2016 23:46

I do not do camping.

niminypiminy · 10/12/2016 09:12

I'm pretty sure New Wine wouldn't be my cup of tea- though I know it's a brilliant thing for lots of people - but I really fancy going to Greenbelt.

OP posts:
caulkheaded · 10/12/2016 09:14

Greenbelt is brilliant.

thegreenheartofmanyroundabouts · 10/12/2016 09:59

Greenbelt is brilliant but I haven't been since it moved to the new location. I have relatives near Cheltenham so I could go and stay with them. Now I would have to camp and I.do.not.do.camping.

Maybe I could hire a motor home affair with a shower and it might be halfway tolerable - glamping maybe....
