A new thread for a new year. If you would like to pause, breathe and count your blessings, this is the place for you.

Everyone is welcome, we love to see new faces. It doesn't matter whether you have a faith of any kind or no faith at all; whether you post every day or just once: whether your blessings are great or small. Please drop by and be welcome.

Looking over the last week or so, there is a lot of busy. So today I am thankful for a quiet couple of hours wandering round a beautiful historic foreign city on my own, for tasty food, wine, and an early night.

Grateful for my full belly, not making a fool of myself today, and the luxury of having choices.

EdithSimcox · 20/03/2016 22:23

Thankful that the weekend that started difficult has ended well, for DreamWorks and Pixar who have a talent for making kids laugh, and for my lovely family.

EdithSimcox · 20/03/2016 22:24

less and kinky Flowers for both of you; I hope you have had restful weekends.

KinkyDorito · 21/03/2016 07:11

Thanks Edith.

Like walking through treacle at the moment. Doesn't help that my work is so stressful which makes my condition worse. Woke up this morning to an email asking me if I'd sorted something out for today that I had no idea about. Sigh.

This too shall pass

Thank you, Edith. I'm the same, kinky, feel like I'm made of lead. Hey, ho, just have to get on with it.

Holy week
Lovely service yesterday, my weechoir was leading the worship and I got to sing He Was Despised, which I love because it's an aria for alto.

Relationships improving at work, and a job well done. A beer on the train. A bit of thinking time. Good day, eh?

EdithSimcox · 24/03/2016 15:05

Sometimes I force myself onto this thread, to stop my whiny inner voice, and think of something more positive. Today is one such day.

So, things to be grateful for:

  • a nice chat with two friends/acquaintances when I was walking the dog - people round here are so open and friendly
  • the last day of work for 10 days - looking forward to the break and to seeing friends who live far away
  • online friends
  • getting out and about in the fresh (ahem) air - lovely long bike ride before breakfast

There, it looks like a good day doesn't it? So I won't mention the fight with DP Hmm

KinkyDorito · 24/03/2016 15:14

I need to curtail my whiny voice from spilling out on the page Grin.

A long weekend.
Peaceful times with family.
Time to get caught up with work.

less thank you for thinking of me; predictably, we are struggling a bit this weekend. But I am grateful for my smiley, cuddly DC who can always put a smile on my face, a warm house and good food.

Lessstressedhemum · 27/03/2016 17:00

May God give you the peace and patience to get through this, Edith, and may your wife's heart be softened and her fears relieved. I know how you feel. My DH is an aggressively vocal athiest who loves to mock and ridicule people of faith. We are apparently all weak minded simpletons who need to know the truth for our own good. I, however, SM a mature Christan with years and years experience dealing with this sort of thing. It must be so difficult for you. God will give you the strength he needs.

Gratitudes
New life in the Risen Jesus
Freedom to worship as I please without fear
