A new thread for a new year. If you would like to pause, breathe and count your blessings, this is the place for you.

Everyone is welcome, we love to see new faces. It doesn't matter whether you have a faith of any kind or no faith at all; whether you post every day or just once: whether your blessings are great or small. Please drop by and be welcome.

Gardening today in chilly, bright sunshine and enjoying the tidiness of it all.

Warm house.
Friend coming back from lengthy holiday soon; it'll be good to catch up.

Today more than ever I feel the need to focus on what I have got. Somewhere safe & secure to live, enough to eat, good health.

Optimist1 · 09/11/2016 13:30

Agreed, oliver - instead of thinking "This time last year there was an honourable man in the White House, I was a European..." I've tried to focus on the fact that there is much that is pure and good and right in my world.

Lessstressedhemum · 10/11/2016 16:15

I think that you have to focus on the good thing in the world because otherwise you would just cry. I cn't believe what is happening just now, hate and fear seem to be winning every battle Sad

healthcare which is free at the point of delivery
a secure, safe place to live
(a very unworthy one) hot men in kilts to cheer me up Blush

Optimist1 · 10/11/2016 20:35

If they cheer you up, Less , then that's something to be grateful for. (And who am I to disagree with the attraction of a shapely male calf and a swishy, swirly kilt? Wink )

Warm and safe at home. Loved by my kids.

oliversax · 11/11/2016 13:24

Gratitude for chaps in kilts has made me smile.

It's a beautiful autumn day. Bright & sunny with a chill in the air. My favourite type of day.

The joy of clearing stuff away (even if half of it just moves into the loft). Feeling good after a really productive morning.

Lessstressedhemum · 12/11/2016 18:01

There is nothing like a good looking bloke in a kilt to put a smile on my face. I am shallow!

safety and security
Food and clean water
family and friends

Horrendous motorway journey but thankful for a reliable car and a good supply of patience to get me safely home.

CocoaX · 14/11/2016 18:43

I would like to say thank you for the kindness of strangers on MN and for the RL people who are doing what they can to help. For the fact that I have a job and a house. For being able to see.

Lessstressedhemum · 18/11/2016 14:30

Welcome, Cocoa. I hope all is well with you. Flowers
