Salaams/peace to all! I'm already missing our old thread, so taking the bull by the horns and opening our very own Muslim Tearoom, all welcome (non-Muslims too of course), to chat, share, ask questions etc etc. Imagine a cosy cafe with floor cushions, tea and coffee of all kinds, and lovely cakes! Please join me!

Assalaamu alaykum all,

dd contracted chickenpox on wednesday, doc said it would take 10 days to clear up...do you think its safe for me to take her out on eid in sha Allah? (she would have had it for 9 days)

Naila- I dread Eid too at times cuz we end up doing same old same...we planned to go to the zoo this year or aquarium

fuzzywuzzy · 04/08/2013 22:00

Eids meant to be on Thirsday by the your dds chickenpox spots should be crusted over, in which case she should be ok to take out, providing she feels up to it inshallah.

May Allah grant her shifa.

Jzk fuzzy ameen, yes they have crusted over apart from a few on her scalp.

crescent im glad dd picked it up now as i will soon have a baby (in sha Allah) and wouldnt want her to be sick then.

Whats everyone doing for Eid iA?

fuzzywuzzy · 05/08/2013 22:12

Crescent I know a sister who does henna, she's in Ilford, she doesn't drive so you'd have to go to her.

If you go down Ilford lane or green street the evening before Eid there's stalls set up with women doing henna it's very festive.

I know several henna artists & loads advertise on fb. They're very artistic mashallah.

Please forgive me for breaking into your thread. I feel I must say how sorry I am for the level of nastiness directed towards Muslims. I cannot understand how this level of intolerance I'd allowed to flourish here. Please know I am thinking of you all at this Holy Time...
Warmest Regards

Salam and hello again to all
Crescent invited me to join the gift chain and I hope that's ok! Is there anyone left to be paired with? No worries if not, but I would like to mark it with you guys if possible.
So Thursday is likely to be Eid? What do you all do? My XH is really crap at creating any sense of occasion so I have never really experienced any kind of Eid celebration. This year I think he will take DS with him to his home country for Eid el kbir which will be good for him, he has Christmas with my family but doesn't know about Eid really. Though he keeps asking to fast bless him which is cute, he's 5 in September so ummmm not yet sweetheart!

fuzzywuzzy · 06/08/2013 14:36

Secretswitch, that really does mean a lot to me personally. thank you for taking the time out to post.

Secretswitch · 06/08/2013 14:44

Fuzzywuzzy, it is hurtful to me to see one religion continually harassed and demonised. The title of one thread in particular appears to be just hateful.
I wish everyone peace and happiness at this Holy Week.

fuzzywuzzy · 06/08/2013 14:48

I got my Eid gift (and I opened it- cos I have no patience), it's really lovely Jazakallah Khair Smile

My workmates are jealous they don't get gifts in the post!!! Grin

Subhanallah I saw that Hilal meme, very funny & very true. I reckon Eid is tomorrow.

I got a hilarious whatsapp message last night, my friend messaged;
Asalamualaikum.. Brothers and sisters, Alhamdulillah by the will of Allah it has been confirmed that tomorrow...
is definitely...... WEDNESDAY!!!

Bahahahahahha so relieved they didn't have the 28 day nonsense, I vividly recollect the year KSA declared they'd accidentally declared Eid & paid out fidya for the entire kingdom. We need our own united Hilal committees one per country.

Okeydokes, as today may be the last day of Ramadan, I'm going to ask you ladies if you could spare a penny or a pound for this charity inshallah;

my.charitywater.org/muslimswaterforall

The ladies who have set up the challenge are the most amazing Muslimahs imho.

And everyone who contributes will be contributing to two wells of clean water for people to benefit (regardless of religion) for a very very very long time and even if you're not religious that has to be a massive deal. I so want these ladies to hit their $20k target within Ramadan inshallah.

The volunteers who work for charity water were so impressed by the speed with which the first $10k was raised they took turns to fast to share our experience and some have blogged about their fast, they are hilarious and touching all at the same time.

I know sometimes Americans get a hard time on here, but I think there are some things Americans just do better, with an open heart and a lot of love feeling bruised over certain threads.

As an aside, all donations in full go to building the wells, no money is diverted to pay admin costs.
