Salaams/peace to all! I'm already missing our old thread, so taking the bull by the horns and opening our very own Muslim Tearoom, all welcome (non-Muslims too of course), to chat, share, ask questions etc etc. Imagine a cosy cafe with floor cushions, tea and coffee of all kinds, and lovely cakes! Please join me!

Sounds like a great idea crescent ^ I am in awe that you are managing to keep fasts btw. I am struggling so much despite being non-pregnant! My 10 year old niece has kept most of them, her choice entirely, her energy and enthusiasm puts me to shame.

Nearly the last ten days people, time to do intense dua for the ummah. Esp Syria. It kills me to read what is going on all over the world.
And crescent, I kwym it wasnt a depressing post at all but very reflecting as you said, and I am naturally an extremely thin skinned person..Why cant people live and let live Sad Islam is definitely seen as the 'strange' religion today but as the infamous narration states, "glad tidings to the Strangers".

Oh congratulations rosie on your Ramadhan bundle! So many Ramadhan babies this year, subhanallah.

Sweetsandchocolate · 26/07/2013 15:29

where's the translation button?

Cuddledup · 27/07/2013 17:49

Crescent - I just watched the YouTube video.... its funny - the Iman really keeps his cool, it's amazing - and he's not even angry with the producers
I wonder if British telly would play the same sort of trick on a vicar / Archbishop of Canterbury - wouldn't it be considered too irreverent?

rosiedays · 30/07/2013 14:55

Salam all.
Sorry for not posting, dh hates me ' playing' with my phone. He's back to work today and it's lovely to have baby all to myself :). Thanks you all for your kind words. Ddis doing really well although she seems to be observing her first Ramadan ( sleeping all day and eating all night )Iol
When is eid? Dh stopped fasting when I went into hospital. The stress got to him and he smoked and drank coffee. He has started fasting again and is coping well. Should we still celebrate eid? can i get' my first eid" outfit for dd ( like my first Christmas ones)? Dmil and sil would love that

rosiedays · 30/07/2013 15:12

We had a small party for dd on Friday evening. Dh finally excepted that he couldn't kill a sheep in the back garden in England ( and no way could i butcher ) So we found out the price of a whole sheep, divided it in 3 gave 1/3 to charity that feeds homeless people. And spent the rest on lamb from a halal butcher which we cooked on bbq ( kofta kebab lamb chops all yummy) leftovers and kibda for us on Saturday and Sunday. Hoping this is close enough although i don't think mil is
too happy. she has never been to England so doesn't understand that you can't go round giving away bags of meat or kill a sheep in the garden
Fuzzywuzzy your friend and her lo are in my prayers. Xx

Rosie you can order aqeeqah from halal butchers, might be a bit late now, but for next eid, they have a list with names and at the abbatoir read the names when they slaughter the sheep, then the butcher cuts for you and gives you the meat and you can bag and distribute, that is what we do for aqeeqah and qurbani.

nailak · 02/08/2013 03:46

how we doing this eidi thing i aint getting it?????/ and price limit and stuff?

fuzzywuzzy · 02/08/2013 04:19

Sr Nailak I'm buying for you I think. I'll message you later inshallah, I've been sooo mad busy over the last few days.

Hope everyone is well inshallah.

Sis Rosiedays, your MIL & husband sound very funny, I wouldn't relish the thought of butchering a sheep either! We do distribute aqeeqa & Eid UK adha meat like sis Crescent said, it comes from the butchers and we bag it up & then dad goes to all his friends & relatives handing out bags of meat to everyone.

Hope everyone makes the most of these last days of Ramadan.

peacefuloptimist · 02/08/2013 10:22

Salams my sisters.

Can I join the eid chain too? I haven't posted in a while but you know how it is during Ramadan. Congratulations Rosie on your baby girl. I pray Allah blesses her with good health and happiness. Definitely buy her an eid outfit then post it on your profile so we can all go awwwwww over it. Grin I'm going out today toget my lo an eid outfit. I've already sorted mine out Blush

Ooooh I ordered my Eid outfit online, this, its madly elaborate I love it, I'll be the most bling one in my family this year...altho I haven't seen my sisters outfits yet.

Soooo childishly excited about Eid.

nailak · 02/08/2013 16:44

Anyone in East London lonely for iftar today then inbox me, inshaAllah,

nailak · 02/08/2013 16:45

Crescent I've bought from rupali in the past, they do some lovely things, but their refund policy is crap if you run into problems.

Nailak start your own Eid traditions, we do gifts and the kids go mad crazy happy, there's food laid out to eat pretty much all day, we get visitors & my sisters & I also tend to go out.

My life is so hectic I enjoy the opportunity to just relax at home & watch the children be happy alhumdulillah.

nailak · 03/08/2013 03:01

issue is if i dont go to inlaws then that looks rude innit.....

might go blake hall grounds fair this year....

peacefuloptimist · 03/08/2013 09:52
