Yes it does, but you are being over-sensitive combined with an understandable ignorance of what those people did for living. Their job was to layoutthe magazine, create artwork, and make sure it looked nice, which sounds trivial, but wasn't. My expectation was that the women who were technical editors would understand it, but the artwork people would not. Turned out I was wrong.

I talk to women in IT the same way I talk to men. I don't patgonise them in the same way that the various official efforts do. I talk to pretty much everyone the same way actually. You could call the egalitarian or lazy.
And yes, I suspect the number of technophobe men is large, certainly some were in IT journalism. I'm not impressed by those either, but in general the men I meet are far more into gadgets of all kinds than women.
