Hi all, not checked in for ages and am just doing so very quickly from my FIL's computer - we're on hols just now. Please could you pray for our dd she has had this horrilbe d&v bug and has been so sore and sad all week. She's exhausted and mostly off her food, thankfully still taking bf no bother. The fairly constant crying is hard and it's naff not being able to make it any better for her, short of dosing her with Calpol every foru hours.

Notquitesotiredmum · 19/04/2006 21:52

It is encouraging to hear that others are struggling to keep up their prayer lives! Prayers for all busy mums today, and thanks CD for your words of encouragement, as ever. Thank goodness that God's goodness does not rely on us finding exactly the right words. Holding you all up for His special care.

Pudmog special prayers for you.

Twiga - praying for your dd too, poor little mite. Have you tried metanium - assuming that the soreness is nappyrash type? It is absolutely magic stuff - available over the counter or by prescription.

In haste. God bless.

CaptainDippy · 20/04/2006 09:25

Hi there katzg, Twiga and NQSTM!! Good to hear from you all!! I had possibly the most stressful day yesterday - Was running an Easter Party in the morning for the NCT (National Childbirth Trust) - DD1 screamed the whole way through it, which wasn't the easiest thing to deal with - while you're selling raffle tickets, trying to shout at 40 crazy children, trying to give instructions to mummies and daddies, trying to co-ordinate the photographer and the Easter bonnet parade - Nightmare!! Then, I put her down for a sleep as soon as I got home and she slept for 1/2 hour - ARGH!!! Then, at bedtime it was DD2's turn not to want to sleep!! I was exhausted by the time I got to bed!!!! Fell asleep at anbout 8.30 - bless!! Glad they are going to nursery this pm - even if all I'll do is sorting out and hoovering etc. Sigh. Apart from that - all's fine here!! Smile

Praying that personnel get their finger out asap katzg!!!! I know how frustrating it is not to be able to relax and get on with life when one little thing needs to happen to be the catalyst for everything else - Still nothing on the job front here in DippyLand Sad Just need that job and then the mortgage can come etc!! Sigh. Keep us posted katzg!!!

Rubbish news about your poor DD's D&V bug - yuk yuk yuk - Not nice, esp when you are on holiday Sad Hope you're having a nice time apart from that, just good to get away for a while, eh!!? I'm leaving DH with the girls this weekend Grin and going off to Wales to visit a very lovely friend who had a little baby girl in Feb - very excited!! Grin Praying she recovers soon, poor little thing!!

Hello NQSTM - Thank you for you kind words, as always!! Smile Praying for you so much. xx

[[hugs] to all.

God Bless you!!

Thank you for all your prayers. Today has seen a major breakthrough in my jouney with God. He is amazingly gracious in His healing and I can now get on with living. It all sounds so dramatic- but when you have hidden behind an intolerable veil of inner pain for 17 years- I can and will grin from ear to ear now that I am free and can accept the immense, consuming love He has for us.

I will continue to pray and thank you all again.

Notquitesotiredmum · 20/04/2006 22:18

Lovely to hear from you Pudmog and to be able to share in your wonderful news. Special prayers for your future life and that you will grow in His love daily.

Prayers on the employment front for you Katzg and CD. In His time, of course.

G'night

CaptainDippy · 21/04/2006 09:30

Hello all,
Have been reading this thread for a long time but never dared posting. have been praying for those who needed it and hope it helped. can i in turn ask for your prayers.... life has been very hard for the past year. dh has been looking for work for over a year and is struggling. bottom line is that i need to go back full time instead of 2 days a week. am meeting with agency on tues at 09.00. there is a super job and i think i might get a chance. my dear dd will need to go in nursery full time but she enjoys her little friends so am not worried about that. more importantly can you pray for dh to get some good job soon as it is really getting him down. and finally for me to be a better friend at keeping in touch esp with Joanne. sorry if the list is a bit long... thank you very much.

Notquitesotiredmum · 21/04/2006 12:43

Nanou1

Lovely to hear from you and thank you for your prayers for us all. How lovely to meet someone who has been praying for us! Please don't apologise for bringing your needs to the list too. Special prayers for you and your dh at this tough time. Will be thinking of you on Tuesday especially.

Prayers for your weekend CD and for all on the list.

God bless

Nanou1 · 21/04/2006 13:04

thank you so much. am at work but cannot concentrate! that new job would be perfect, top company, close to home. only thing that might be a problem is my dd. it is well paid and i think they'll want my blood for that and they might think having a child means less flexibility. well... if it is meant to be it will be! if not, it means something better will come along. that is what i am supposed to think is it not?!

PandaG · 21/04/2006 13:08

Hello all, just checking in to say hi. Had a fab Easter, had friends to stay and did some Easter activities which we hope will turn into family traditions, keeping easter Jesus centred, and fun too. I am missing my ash cross, wearing it was a lot easier than I thought it would be, and has meant a deepening of relationships with a friend, and some good conversations.

Pudmog, really delighted to hear of your breakthrough. Please keep us posted

CD hope and pray you have a lovely weekend with your friend

Welcome Nanou, hope to see more of you Smile. will pray.

Nanou1 · 21/04/2006 13:20

thank you Panda. We had a good easter weekend too. do you have many christian friends? we dont. am fairly new to practising and come from RC. regained faith when i came to this country... and no i shall not apologise for being french!!!! had amazing experiences of His great powers. we go to a great CofE near home and attend sunday school with dd. i am fairly ignorant i feel of the bible and how to be a christian family. long story but father and his wife complete atheists.... who could tell me where i could find good info advice on learning how to build a christian family? would one of you be my guide/mentor? maybe this could be a new thread!? gosh i am so demanding today. you will regret my first posting now!!!!

joec · 21/04/2006 21:39

CaptainDippy · 24/04/2006 12:15

Hey there!!

Bit more time to catch up!! Not much though - Not convinced DD1 is really asleep at all!! Sigh.

Anyway!! Hello - Thank you for all the posts, it has been great to read some updates and to welcome nanou1 to the fold - A big HELLO!!

Nanou1 - Sounds like you are having a tough old time of it at the moment, poor hun!! Sad Just praying that God would do some amazing things in yours and your families lives right now - Praying that you got that super job (bummer about having to go back to work full time!) I pray that your DD would settle into f/t nursery really quickly and God would give you all special lovely times at the weekends and in any free time to enjoy yourselves and grow together as a family!! Praying that your DH would feel encouraged and that he would get a good job soon and praying that God would be in the centre of all your relationships - with your children, with your DH, with your family and with your friends - What a lovely post from Joanne - that made me Grin! Keep going nanou1 - Thank you for all your prayers and the difference they have been making here - Keep posting and being part of our little community - You are very special!! Smile

Hi PandaG - Glad you had such a super Easter - Praise the Lord, eh!!? Grin Hope it is all continuing to go well!

Praying for your DD and your DS mrsgee (welcome back, hope you had a super time away!!) Keep us updated about the circumsion and about DD's abnormal bloods, hope it is nothing too serious - Sounds like it is pretty hard going between the two of them atm - Sending [hugs]

Wow!!

Well it is all good in the Dippy Household - had a "reasonable" time away, was great to see my friend and her DH - her little baby is gorgeous - Had loads of lovely cuddles. Just a tiny weeny bit Sad cos we didn't actually go out once the while time we were there - it cost a lot of money to get there and I don't mean to sound super ungreatful or anything - I just thought we might actually go out into town for a coffee or go for a walk or something. The main thing is that I saw them though and that was good - So thank you God!! Smile Feeling very tired today!!

Big prayer request here though - A friend from church had a baby girl (Rebekah) on Thursday and the cord got stuck and she was deprived of oxygen. Both my friend and her DD nearly died. DD is now in ITU about 40 mins away after emergency C-Section and immediate transferral by ambulance. Hubby and friend's mum are staying with her while friend is at home with her other 2 children, recovering from emergency C-Section. Please, please pray that little Rebekah fights through - So scared for the little mite. I'll post when I have more news, all I know is that she's alive and so is mum - Praise the Lord!!! Smile Thank you.

May I put in a request for prayers for some friends of mine who are about to attempt their 4th lot of IVF at the Lister Hospital in London. Her last cycle worked, but sadly she miscarried. They have been longing for a family for years and several close friends have recently announced pregnancies and I know my IVF friends' hearts are almost broken. I pray for them, but if my prayers could be amplified, that would be wonderful. Thank you.

Notquitesotiredmum · 24/04/2006 13:26

Hi

Welcome back CD and welcome Wilbur. Praying for your friends and special special prayers for little Rebekah.

Good to hear from you Mrsgee. Prayers for dds bloodtests and for the doctors and nurses looking after your family with you.

Nanou - for Christian family activities you could check to see whether anyone from your Church went to Spring Harvest at Easter, with a view for planning for next year. Just wanted to second the idea that an Alpha course could be really useful for you too, or any small group - we have a mothers bible study group in the daytime which is a great chance to meet and pray together. Will be thinking of you tomorrow morning for your interview.

Happy Monday all. God bless.

katzg · 24/04/2006 18:15

its been advertised - the dream job - lots of prayers and positivenes please - closing date 30th May

naswm · 24/04/2006 18:40

Hi all

I've kept away from this thread for a long time. I've been very depressed and getting myself into all sorts of problems becuase of it. Life has been very hard and being a Christian that is often harder to acknowledge.

I do still think about people on here though, even if I'm not posting regularly.

NASWM (my name is very apt at the moment btw)

mrsgee · 24/04/2006 19:57

thanks CD and NSTM
the blood tests showed that dd has low platelet count, as the day has gone on it has progressed to needing to go back to docs for her to look at bruising (which i thought was just normal bruising for child who falls over lots) and she may be referred to specialist at hospital.
ds will need to go to specialst but it is not urgent and am praying that he will not have to have anything done.
dh should start his job next week
so all in all lots going on but God is really giving me peace and i am not panicking about it.
so glad this thread is here to share thanks CD for keeping it goingx

CaptainDippy · 24/04/2006 20:44

Evening all!!

Another day over in the Dippy Household - Sigh.

Hi wilbur!! Will be praying for your friends as they embark on their 4th round of IVF - Praying for a tiny miracle there!! Smile Keep us updated!!

HURRAH!! katzg - Sooooooo pleased that the job has finally been advertised - Let us know what happens - Praying sooooo much that you'd get it honey!!! (If it is in His Will, of course - Ahem!! Blush Wink)

Good to have you back NASWM - Praying that God would strengthen you and uphold you at this very difficult time - Keep posting here and keep trusting in His love and care for you. hugs

Hi NQSTM - Thank you for encouraging posts and prayers - You're fab!! Grin

mrsgee - Sad at DD - Praying that they find out what is wrong soon and praying that your DS doesn't need treatment of any sort - Sounds pretty full-on atm in GeeLand - Praying for strength [[hugs]] to you honey!! Smile

Nothing more to report on Rebekah atm -Will let you know when I hear more. Hoping no news is good news.

PandaG · 25/04/2006 11:46

Hello all Smile
Glad you are back safe CD, it is another driving lesson today isn't it? will pray. Also for Rebekah - love that spelling btw.

NASWM - dealing with depression is crap, and dealing with it as a Christian can be really hard, I know from bitter experience. No wise words, just wanted to let you know I care, and am praying for you honey.

Nanou - I'm certainly no expert on parenting, being a christian or a combination of the two, but more than happy to pool/share ideas. Would you like to start a thread on this? Alpha could be good for you, also, our church has run parenting courses in the past, maybe there would be something like this in your area. Am now trying to think of the name of the course I helped run. Will post again when I remember.

My prayer request - have been childminding for the last 6 years since I had DS. DD about to start school (next Jan) and I am wondering about going back into teaching - which I left way before DS. Investigating home tutoring for the home/hospital school service here. Bit scared, just want to do the right thing and make a diiference, using the talents God has given me.
Also, it is the school PTA AGM tonight, and I may well end up being chair(am vice chair atm., and the chair is resigning tonight). BUT 2 people have asked me if I had considered standing as a school governor don't think I can do both, and want to do what God wants. Just want wisdom really.Smile

CaptainDippy · 25/04/2006 15:30

Yes - Have driving lesson in about 5 mins - ARGH!! Pray for me!!

Will pray about going back into teaching / school govenor issues for you PandaG - Thanks for all the great stuff you said - Sounds like God's given you a whole heap of wisdom anyway!! Smile

Sorry - no time to say much more - gotta go drive!!!!!! Shock Wink Grin
