longwaytogo · 09/04/2006 20:58

I have been internet less for at least two weeks and feel i have had no contact with the outside world for ages. Will have to spend some time catching up, but an update on us is that we have now moved - hurrah - God is Good.

Will catch up and then post some more - hopefully but at the minute it wont let me into talk topics had to find this thread through archieving.

CaptainDippy · 09/04/2006 22:16

Hello Everyone!!

Bleurgh! That sums up how I am feeling atm really!! Black Cloud is still lingering - and has been make larger and thicker by the crappy weekend I have just had - Flump!! Sad Went to a friend from Uni's Wedding without the children (yippee!) which was very lovely indeed - Praise God for bringing Dan and Annie together and for such a lovely day for them - Bless them as they start out on this exciting adventure together!!

Ahem.

Anyway - while we were at the reception, someone smashed our car window and stole my handbag Sad Sad Sad I know - it was my own stupid fault for leaving it in the car in the first place not not locking it away or taking it with me, but was still upsetting all the same!! It had nothing of value in it (don't carry money), but it had my diary, address book, my child health records for my children, my driving licence etc etc etc - Major inconvienience - pants pant pants!! I have really been quite calm about it (God is good), but it stil hurts all the same. Sigh. Please pray as we deal with what has happened (insurance, emotions etc etc) I really pray that my bag and it's contents would turn up miraculously, but I am not holding out much hope, would be nice though. It just completely spoiled an otheriwse lovely weekend. Car window fixers didn't turn up til 10pm and we were two hours from home. DH was too tired to drive home and I'm only on a provisional, so we had to book into a hotel (expensive, ouch!) and PIL had to look after DD's when they didn't really want to. Sigh. It was just a real bummer and didn't really do much for the way that I am feeling right now.

Mmmmmm ......

Anyway - Great to hear from you mrsgee and longwaytogo (good to have you back Smile) Really hope DH hears about job soon mrsgee and that it is good news - and good news about poor DD and her nosebleeds, do keep us informed. My DH had a job interview on Friday as well - in the same company, but better paid - please pray he'd get the job if he is supposed to iykwim!!

YEY!!! to finally moving house LWTG!!! Grin Yippee!! How's it going? Praying you would settle in mega quickly!!

God is Good!!

Smile

Hello! How is everyone today? I am ok, just had a driving lesson - as usual, the 1st half was great and the 2nd half was pants - What is wrong with me!!? I have less concentration span than my 2 year old!!!! Pray the next lesson goes much better - all the way through!! Smile

Any updates??

Chocolate swap being thought about - yum! Grin

longwaytogo · 11/04/2006 10:53

captdippy so sorry to hear about the damper to your w/e

We are settling in but i feel like i'm living under a great big black cloud, don't want to get out of bed in the morning, kids are constantly whinging, pulling hair, hitting - where did i go so wrong?

Fed up of going to church and blubbing my way through it, when will this ever get any better? when will the hurt go away, when will the healing happen. Not that anyone has the answers to these questions but there we go.

PandaG · 11/04/2006 10:53

CD - really sorry to hear about your car break in - how pants. Praying that you do get the contents of your handbag back. Let us know when your next driving lesson is and we will pray.

I've now got 3 child free days, children at my Mum's. No urgent prayer requests, just need the motivation to do all the jobs I need to get done before the weekend!

CaptainDippy · 11/04/2006 13:38

Thank you for your nice words LWTG and PandaG - I do hope the contents of my bag are discovered, but I doubt very much they will be. Sigh. Oh well.

My next driving lesson is next Tuesday at 1.40pm (so about now, but next week!!) Will remind you nearer the time - Prayers are hugely appreciated!! Smile

Oh LWTG - Sounds like you are having a really crappy time. I am so sorry and I am praying so hard for you - I certainly know what that "Big Black Cloud" feeling is like (look at my most recents posts) I had a simple little poem on my door when I was growing up and it still helps me to pray it quickly when I am having a "Big Black Cloud" time ....

Here I am Lord, feeling down
It's not my greatest day
Please won't you ease my troubled mind
Now, even as I pray.

Praying that for you now - that God would ease your troubled mind and help you to have the motivation to get through each day. May He give you the strength and the wisdom to cope with each difficult situation and may he remind you of the things that He has bestowed upon you, which bless you greatly - like your children and your house and your health. Keep going - and keep posting - rant and rave if it helps!! Smile

Praying for mega motivation for you too PandaG - I always "deflate" when the children are taken away from me. I just sort of go all floppy and can't be arsed to do any of the thousand and one million things that I should be doing. Daytime TV suddenly looks soooooo gooooooood and contents of the fridge look sooooo goooood and the hoovering looks sooooooo baaaaaaad and the untidy living room looks sooooooooo baaaaaaaad!! Totally understanding and empathising with you - Give this woman motivation Lord - NOW!!

Prayers and [hugs]] to all. xx

hope you all have good weeks and will post when get back from hols. hope you all get some yummy choc tooGrin

mrsgee · 11/04/2006 20:50

sorry just reread and will pray for lesson not testSmile

CaptainDippy · 12/04/2006 10:07

Hi mrsgee! Hope you have a super time away - may God really give you His peace about DS' circumcision, poor little man! Sad I'll wait til you get back to do the choc swap cos there aren't many people signed up - also we might all be a bit "chocolated out" by Easter and need a wee bit of recovery time!! Grin

All's fine in the Dippy Household - would be cool to have a few prayers about mine and DH's relationship with the rest of his family, especially his brother and sister - things are not good there at the moment and could really do with some wisdom and healing - Thank you!! Smile

How is everyone else?

Bless you all so much this special Easter time!!

Notquitesotiredmum · 12/04/2006 13:19

Flying in to say hello. Exhausted! School holidays were going fine until some old friends reappeared for a flying visit having moved away a year ago. DS1 was sooo excited. We have just scraped him off the ceiling after 3 days of running in circles!

Off to entertain the dss again.

Sending up a special prayer for you all.

God bless

Portree · 12/04/2006 14:25

Hello all,

CD - poor you, you are really having a rotten time of it. So sorry to hear about your handbag on top of everything else. Will be making a special note of your next driving lesson and will send up a little prayer. And also that relationships enter a new and harmonious phase.

MrsGee - poor wee thing. Praying for peace and strength.

Quickie about me, well 2 of our embryos made it and were back where they belong on Saturday. Afraid the black cloud seems to have caught up with me and have been in a fog ever since. Don't feel too hopeful but praying for strength to get through it all.

Prayers to you all

Notquitesotiredmum · 13/04/2006 08:55

MOrning all.

Ds1 (6) was out with friends yesterday and picked up a dead bird!!! (He thought it was a feather when he grabbed it.) I'm sure that the risk is small for us, but prayers please for protection for all little ones worldwide facing the horrid risk of bird flu, when they meet a dead bird.

I would also appreciate prayers for me and my dh too. He is not a Christian but I am very aware that he is the calm one, whilst I am the one who panics about these things, whilst claiming to believe that my life and my boys' lives are in the hands of our very loving father-God. A bit more faith for me, I think, to witness to the person closest to me, and prayers for him too, that that wonderful miracle might start to happen soooon.

Soo sorry to hear about your handbag CD. Praying for it to be recovered. (Surely someone will have dumped it, once they found there was no money there. Just needs someone to hand it in now.) Will be praying for your driving lesson too on Tuesday.

Praying for you Portree, for littleGee and for you all too.

God bless

CaptainDippy · 13/04/2006 10:18

Hello One and All! Good to hear from you, as always.

Praying for you NQSTM - Praying for energy as you enjoy the holidays with your little ones. Praying especially for your DH - that he would discover our wondeful and loving God for himself and come to faith in Lord Jesus - especially as this most poignant time of year as we remember His death for us on the cross - and His ressurection - HURRAH! Grin Praying that God would give you calm and patience to be a good witness to your DH and to make him see wht he is missing out on - Not in your strength, but in His and only His!! Smile How horrid for your DS - picking up the dead bird - Yuk! Poor thing - Yes, praying for all of those affected by this terrible bird flu outbreak. It is awful.

Good news about the embryos Portree - Praying everything goes smoothly from here on in and your get another little one and a brother / sister for your little man!! Smile Praying that the Black Cloud over you would be dispersed immediately!!!!!! Keep going and keep trusting and believing that our God, who loves us, can work all things together for good. [[hugs]]]

Thank you all for your nice comments about my stolen handbag and for my driving lesson, it means a lot and really helps to get me through each day. It is a pleasure having you all on this thread!! Smile

Pudmog · 17/04/2006 16:51

I am trying to follow this and praying for you when I can.

I ended up going to the doctors as the flashbacks I have been having are debilitating at times, so now have some pills to take if needed. Easter w/e was really hard - normally I love Easter but this year somewhat dampened because of where i am in my life. The good news- it can only get better. Next session this week.

CaptainDippy · 18/04/2006 09:05

Hello NQSTM and pudmog!!

Praying for you pudmog, thank you for your prayers too! Sounds like you are having a really tough old time of it atm - Praying for strength and for wisdom as you work through issues - May God's healing come to you fast honey!! Keep updating (do let us know how your session goes this week) and we'll keep praying!!

Smile

All's well enough in the Dippy Household - DD2 is having some "eating issues" - She was nearly impossible to feed til she was about 7/8 mopnths and she seems to reverted Sad It is very stressful and I am just hoping that it might just be cos we've tried to change her milk - Please pray that this is resolved soon. I just feel I have enough on my plate to cope with atm. Sigh!! Have applied for another job and have a driving lesson today at 1.40pm - Pray pray pray pray - for focus and a good lesson this time - Just need to do 40 mins good driving, not just 20 mins!! Thank you soooooooooo much guys!! Smile

Best go - Got to go and buy DD2's milk!!

OP posts:
longwaytogo · 18/04/2006 22:00

how was the driving lesson then cd.

I can't keep up with this thread how awful is that. Just shows what a state my prayer life is in really.

CaptainDippy · 19/04/2006 08:22

It doesn't matter, it is more about being part of a community where you know you can go and "off-load" or ask for prayer - Even just sending up a generic prayer for people is enough - I doubt any of us here can say that our prayer life is in excellent shape, I certainly can't!!!!! Sad It is good to have you here longwaytogo!!! Smile

Driving lesson was better - concentrated quite well for the whole time and roundabouts a little less daunting, I've got a long way to go though!! Wink Thank you for your prayers - they definitely make a difference!! Next lesson is next Tuesday at 3.40 til 4.40!!

Smile

katzg · 19/04/2006 09:13

Lots of prayers all round! generic ones again i'm affraid, i really can't keep up! i'll throw in a few about black clouds, driving lessons and new beginnings!

Still no news on the job front! ahhhhhh, can we all pray that someone in personnel pulls their finger out, it just need to know one way or another, and if i don't get it i need to start seriously job hunting/applying for funding.
