I hope LibraPoppyGirl doesn't mind, but seeing as she sort of "did" a summary for me; I thought I would use her words to start a new thread as the last one was getting pretty long!

It was interesting to find out what the Plural of Phoenix was at the same time - Apparently that's derives from the original Latin - same as Matrix and Matrices. So there you go!! You learn something new everyday.

Prayers for LibraPoppyGirl as well - as she seeks refuge in the ... erm ... refuge and looks to a safe future with her precious family. Protect her, Lord and show her the way she should walk .....

Japan Heavenly Father, watch over your people who are affected by the terrible natural disasters, that have happened in Japan. Lord give them love and strength, to deal with such horrific times. We pray to your Lord, to look after those who have survived and give of your great self, to those who have lost loved ones. In the name of your Son Jesus Christ, Amen x

Heavenly Father, take of this family of yours Lord. They are precious indeed. Amen xx (DD1 is taking anti-biotics and is doing better, hoping this is the beginning of the end - light at the end of the tunnel ) Prayers for CD's foster mum who is coping with a DX of Atrial Fibrillation and the implications this has for the rest of her life. Prayers too for CD's friend's sister who is in hospital after a horrific car crash. The future is not looking too hopeful so recent brain stem tests have revealed only the top half of her brain is working - meaning that she may end of not having any control over her body whatsoever; but still being being to think and understand everyone going on around her Prayers for her family and friends at this terrible time, esp her DH and 2 gorgeous DD's (5 and 7)

Brilliant MHD

DD4 has been very poorly in hospital here. She regained consciousness yesterday lunchtime and continued to rally throughout the day, but it has been a tough few days.
When we adopted her 10 years ago we had frequent times of her kidneys playing up, amongst many other medical things and we got used to the trauma of pacing hospital corridors while the Drs tried to sort out what was going on with her. (born with a rare problem, that was not dealt with properly in Russia, then the operation she should have had at birth was done when she was 5 years old, here) It has come as a bit of a shock after 5 years of no unplanned hospital stays to be doing it again. I am praying it was a one-off and not the start of things taking a downward turn.

Prayers continuing for all. Here, in a horrible horrible situation in which I'm trying to understand politics and prejudice and power and all the things I'm no good at...and failing.

oh PA poor you and poor dd. Good to hear she is improving a bit. I hope it continues to improve.

Another failed attempt at co-sleeping this morning when ds woke at 5.20 saying lost Mummy (lost mummy or lost something i don't know) and cried. all he did when in bed as try to pry my eyelids open, not condusive to extra sleep. When told night time he gave a puzzled stare at the now lightening windows and demanded up, so up it was. (sigh)

please pray for missing SIAN, gone missing after leaving a swindon night club alone on sat night, reports saying her phone signal picked up in the forest 12 miles away, searching continuing today.

Praying PA, any more news? Also praying for that girl, Mufti - that sounds worrying :(

Hope you get some rest today BES, if you can. Not fun when you get woken so early! I know I was chosen by God for a reason. Thats why I can't give up, no matter how hard I feel it is getting. But there are blessings as well, I just need to appreciate those more, so that the difficulties aren't so apparent. I also need patience.

Our new Diocesan Bishop is lovely :), he came to our church yesterday, and I got to be his shadow "chaplain" during the service, sitting alongside him and passing him the crozier and mitre at appropriate times and answering whispered questions :)

Just back from the hospital where they've found out my blood isn't clotting properly now. Not sure what that will mean for chemotherapy tomorrow. Prayers will be appreciated. Feel really tired.

Thanks for the prayers ladies. DD4 is home, tucked up in bed and seems ok. Nobody is too sure what it was all about. Drs seemed at a bit of a loss, and have said that it was all caused by a kidney infection, but I am not convinced, after seeing her with numerous kidney infections over the past 10 years, this was totally different. Anyway, as long as its all gone for good, we will be happy.
Can I be really selfish and ask for prayers for me now. This month is a crazy time at work for me every year, with "end of year" accounts needing preparing for plus my big publication deadline. Both are now way behind schedule and I really need to get things done.

so glad she is home PA You sound like you definately need prayer,(not at all selfish) you must be exhausted now and i think it sometimes feels worse when the adrenaline and pressure of the situation has passed a little. you could probably do with a rest not the busiest time of year. Look after yourself too.

finally retrieved the information about the vertigo, and read through. dismayed to find that it can be caused by an injury to the ear. i have been thumped on the ear and had something thrown at me that hit me on the ear, so it is very... ermm... and off to see the school nurse tomorrow re dd and the effects of her seeing dv.

Knee op today - has finally arrived! Will take place sometime this afternoon. Meanwhile, its nothing to eat till afterwards!

mary i went to the dr about the vertigo, thats where I got the info. there is also a procedure for it, moving the head in various directions... But you have to sleep sitting up for 2 nights and you are not allowed to bend down for a week. which is impossible if you are a singel parent and no-one who could be here/ we there for a week. The good news is that i have only had it twice in 9 months both times when i have not had to go out, and it is harmless if a little unpleasant so no need to panic about treatment. it was just quite disconcerting to find out it could have been caused by the violence, and it reminded me about the scar on my ear which I had forgotten about. (sigh)

Just been catching up with thread. Great news madhairday prayers for you Amber and everyone else struggling at the moment.

We had an early scan today. Baby is measuring 6+6 weeks and 9.7mm. Was so relieved to see a heartbeat I couldn't tell you! Praying that God will continue to keep this little one safe. Next scan 26th April.

Hi Mary, glad you hopped dropped by. was wondering how it went. prayed for you today. i will pray for a quick recovery. (my over tired brain is imagining a whole world inside your knee after "keyhole" brought to mind that ancient programme, through the keyhole. Spent too much time in the libraary this morning looking at childrens books and their magical worlds. it is either that or someonre in the flat downstairs is smoking canabis again)

The school nurse was ok. ( but going over it yet again) she is going to look to see what support there is for dd. I mentioned that dd was not showing what she can do at home in school and her lack of confidence to speak out. we also need to arrange a drs appointment because of pains in her joints. however, we did manage occupational therapy, physiotherapy school reading (dd) and speech therapy(ds) all in one evening. But no washing up and I got my face rather too close to a leaky pooy nappy. Yuk.

Hope this is ok thread to ask for prater. Had foot operation meant to be minor and back at work at three weeks. Am now at four weeks still in lots of pain and numb toe and they're talking about possibility if having caught a nerve and needing further treatment. Can't look after DS at present so he's stuck in nursery which is being funded by debt and I really want to be able to look after him. Review appt Thursday morning really need healing. Thank you
