I hope LibraPoppyGirl doesn't mind, but seeing as she sort of "did" a summary for me; I thought I would use her words to start a new thread as the last one was getting pretty long! Smile

It was interesting to find out what the Plural of Phoenix was at the same time - Apparently that's derives from the original Latin - same as Matrix and Matrices. So there you go!! You learn something new everyday. Wink

Prayers for LibraPoppyGirl as well - as she seeks refuge in the ... erm ... refuge and looks to a safe future with her precious family. Protect her, Lord and show her the way she should walk .....

Praying for Caz too

blackeyedsusan · 14/03/2011 22:39

oh caz it's terrible feeling so bad physically and wanting that to stop, yet knowing that it could stop for the wrong reason. i fear that it will be a very long pregnancy for you, with lots of mixed emotions.

tacp. praying for a replacement diyer. if the neighbours make a lot of noise at night at least you can get revenge with 2 small tornados in the morrning Grin (oh so sympathetic me huh? ) and if the neighbours complain, " ah well they get stroppy when they are tired after being kept awake" seriously I have prayed. noises at night are particulrly scary when you are on your own and there is no chance to catch up on sleep.

Pa poor dd. I hope that you can find a way to reassure her. Could she have her own cupboard of food somewhere that she has control over?

been praying whilst soaking toe. scared cos it has gone red and it hurts. i wish the nail would come right off and then it would heal over. DO NOT want to have it tken off as i am a big woosy whining wimp

blackeyedsusan · 15/03/2011 10:01
Teaandcakeplease · 15/03/2011 10:04

Hope the GP can at the least bandage the toe up better for you and prescribe some good pain killers BES.

MonkeyandParrot · 15/03/2011 10:18

hello ladies (waves)
Can i ask people to please pray for my neice and family? Her mum has learning difficulties and took dangerous drugs during pregnancy (they are for underlying medical conditions) which has left my neice with severe epilespy and possible brain damage. She is 3 months and has been home for a while but has resummed pretty much constant fitting so is back in hospital. The prognois is not good tbh as no one really knows the extent of the damage. My dp is struggling to support his sister through this so he needs prayers as well as he currently blames her for taking the meds while pregnant.
Thanks

madhairday · 15/03/2011 12:35

Hello MAP, your poor niece and her family, what a horrible situation :( Praying.

Mary, love those posters, do you know if you can get e-copies of them at all, trying to drag together an AV good Friday presentation and they are what I am looking for :)

Had our DCC meeting last night and had to lead a discussion about worship renewal ideas - so much negativity and resistance to any kind of change, however small. Sigh. I got pretty upset actually as there was so much resistance and quite aggressively so - so Mary, I am with you and know what you mean, horrible isn't it :( Still, have to keep trying, and some are really up for it. I'm not asking them to change from traditional to raving charismatic in one sunday Grin just small suggestions like booklets and words on the screen. Aaaaaaaaaaaagggggggggghhhhhhhhhh

amberlight · 15/03/2011 18:18

Prayers aplenty for all.

Prayers of praise here - co-ran an RE session about Easter for a local primary school and it was brilliant.

Prayers of 'do get a grip girl' would be appreciated because my hair has actually started falling out Hmm and I was shocked, which is silly because of course it will and I knew this and it's why I got the wig and some hats. Silly Amber.

blackeyedsusan · 15/03/2011 19:35

Amber glad the re went well. Sorry about your hair. knowing it is going to happen and watching it actually happening are 2 differrent things. prayers.

Sorry mary, only just realised it is tuesday. der. got a cold and it has obviously got to my brain. der. have prayed now though. that people would think clerly, and discussions would be clear and concise. that people will be chosen that will choose the right person for the job

today is day for surviving as we are all poorly with colds. children have been fed watered changed aand cuddled and that is about it. not made it to the gp. (sigh)

mhd What does dcc mean? added you in with marys prayers.

Jaffa, how are you this week?

Teaandcakeplease · 15/03/2011 21:22

I don't know if this will work but my good friend on fb is loosing her hair with her chemo and she did some photos with different looks and her friends voted on them. It really encouraged her and she looked awesome: www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=10150115645196345&id=545816344&ref=notif&notif_t=feed_comment_reply#!/photo.php?fbid=10150192602783066&set=a.10150192576328066.372326.704998065 I guess access will depend on her privacy settings Confused Be nice if you could see them Amber.

CaptainDippy · 15/03/2011 22:45

Hey all Smile

Oh, my heart breaks for your preciuos DD4 PA. Prayers for healing for her body and mind; and for you and your DH as you cope with the fall out of such awful neglect and abuse. xx

Welcome M&P - Prayers for your niece and her little one. xx

For those who were praying for my friend and her DP who had been diagnosed with cancer the week after their 3rd child was born - I wanted to let you know yesterday he was told he was now cancer free after 6 lots of chemo plus a spinal chemo. :) praising God. He now has 3 more spinal chemo to go and then I guess he will be officially in remission and just needing check ups rather than the treatment which has made him so poorly and made him lose his hair. But he's alive and the cancer has gone! :)

MaryBS · 16/03/2011 07:56

Thanks BES, it proved to be better than expected (praise God!), but as for the right person, I'm now one of the parish reps... Confused.

Caz, that's fantastic news re: your friend's DP :). A dear friend, S, is currently undergoing treatment for spinal cancer. If we could pray for her please, it would be great.

Also for our lovely retired priest, who has been ill since January, but has just been diagnosed with inoperable throat cancer :(. He has been hugely influential in my ministry, and will be a great loss :(. For his famiy also...

MHD, those posters may be available for download elsewhere on the site (from what I could see, there is a DVD, but that seems to be for a 'ready to play' meditation'), or you could try googling "stations cross turvey abbey", or I could take digital pictures of our posters, if that would help.

DutchOma · 16/03/2011 09:00

So good to have this positive news about your friend Caz and good news from Mary too.

I have been tryingfor nearly a week to get transport from Northampton to the Brompton Hospital on 30th March when Bob needs to be in for two days and getting absolutely nowhere. I'm getting very tired and not a little bit nervous. In my head I know that God will have the solution to this problem, but I can't see it and that is quite hard.

amberlight · 16/03/2011 09:23

Prayers aplenty.

Can't open that link, TACP - she might have her security settings on 'high', I guess?

gingercurl · 16/03/2011 09:39

Praying for all.

MaryBS · 16/03/2011 09:53

Is there anyone at your church who can help, DO? It must be so hard for you both!

DutchOma · 16/03/2011 10:15

Nobody has come forward so far and I find it very hard to trawl around. My problem I know.
We have now been in touch with the Brompton and they say our GP needs to ask for a form so they can organise transport. Another tour of the carousel, but at least not yet a brick wall.

madhairday · 16/03/2011 10:20

Morning all

BES, DCC means District Church Council Grin

DO I wish I could help, praying that you will find the solution, have the hosp transport been crap? :(

Mary, couldn't find those posters for download on the site, only some dvd's which is a shame, unless I'm looking in the wrong place. Not sure if digital pics of them would work but you could have a go and see if you want, thanks ever so much! Otherwise will find some other images :)

Caz brilliant news about your friend!

Amber you are so brave. Of course it's no small thing and you're allowed to feel sad and shocked by it, I certainly would. Hugs, and prayers for you.

DutchOma · 16/03/2011 10:25

MHD yes, our hospital patient transport services have said that unless he is unable to get in and out of a car he is not entitled to transport. Hmm

amberlight · 16/03/2011 10:38

Nope, no bravery here. But I do a good line in being mad/determined/falling about laughing sooner or later. But the hugs and prayers are still very welcome right now.
DO it is outrageous that they are refusing transport from hospital patient services. Shocking.
Prayers aplenty for a solution of some kind, fast.

MaryBS · 16/03/2011 10:39

There are always the Sieger Koder pictures MHD - you can download the image from here:

www.pauline-uk.org/productgroup2.asp?id=1934

Is there one in particular you'd like an image of (the Turvey abbey ones)?

MaryBS · 16/03/2011 10:49

this one is downloadable

blackeyedsusan · 16/03/2011 11:49

Have you tried superglue Amber? Grin (only works if you like the tufty look)

amberlight · 16/03/2011 12:19

Hey, that's an idea! Grin
