I hope LibraPoppyGirl doesn't mind, but seeing as she sort of "did" a summary for me; I thought I would use her words to start a new thread as the last one was getting pretty long!

It was interesting to find out what the Plural of Phoenix was at the same time - Apparently that's derives from the original Latin - same as Matrix and Matrices. So there you go!! You learn something new everyday.

Prayers for LibraPoppyGirl as well - as she seeks refuge in the ... erm ... refuge and looks to a safe future with her precious family. Protect her, Lord and show her the way she should walk .....

Japan Heavenly Father, watch over your people who are affected by the terrible natural disasters, that have happened in Japan. Lord give them love and strength, to deal with such horrific times. We pray to your Lord, to look after those who have survived and give of your great self, to those who have lost loved ones. In the name of your Son Jesus Christ, Amen x

Heavenly Father, take of this family of yours Lord. They are precious indeed. Amen xx (DD1 is taking anti-biotics and is doing better, hoping this is the beginning of the end - light at the end of the tunnel ) Prayers for CD's foster mum who is coping with a DX of Atrial Fibrillation and the implications this has for the rest of her life. Prayers too for CD's friend's sister who is in hospital after a horrific car crash. The future is not looking too hopeful so recent brain stem tests have revealed only the top half of her brain is working - meaning that she may end of not having any control over her body whatsoever; but still being being to think and understand everyone going on around her Prayers for her family and friends at this terrible time, esp her DH and 2 gorgeous DD's (5 and 7)

Just read that EdgarAlenPie's little boy died yesterday, the thread is in active. Prayers for the family. There are just no words for this tragedy. :(

Thoughts and prayers are with her, I can't imagine what she must be going through. God strengthen her and lift her and her family up in this horrible, horrible time

So much to pray for - keeping all these in prayer and offering them to God....

PRAISE GOD! The most amazing, miraculous news!

When they operated on my friend's DD on Tues, I think I mentioned that they found cancer in the lymph nodes, which as we all know is not good at all... The surgeon was very certain about this based on what he saw during the surgery, but the results of the tests on the lymphs have just come back from pathology. NEGATIVE FOR CANCEROUS CELLS!!!!

This is the miracle they've been waiting for, and it now means that their little girl will not need radiotherapy, and this in turn means that what remains of her kidneys a have a very good chance of lasting her a long while and not requiring a transplant any time soon.

I KNOW that this is God's work, and I also know that it is because of amazing, compassionate Christians like yourselves who give up their time and energy to pray for others when you have so much going on in your own lives.

I'm sorry, I've just seen how my post looks under the others. It feels wrong to feel so happy when someone else is enduring unimaginable tragedy.

Please take my post in the spirit with which it was intended. Was just so excited, I didn't think of the way it would look. Sorry...

Give praise where praise is due I say. Even in a world of grief there is always the miracle to keep us going.

nowaynohow, your post only looks long because I have been out and not whinging on mumsnet.. and it is brilliant news.

dc's been out with me to meet daddy, but dds temperture has gone back up again and the gp said there is something wrong with my ears but not sure whether labyrinthitis or some sort of vertigo caused by debris in the ear. (muck) both can sort of come and go on their own. I was given a lovely leaflet to read ...but i left it in the car.(sigh)

Tonight I will be saying special prayers. I will be giving thanks for my beautiful girls, who are healthy and strong, & for nowaynohow's friend's DD's wonderful news
Asking for His extra special attention and love for dear children who are ill and being brave

Most of all, I will be asking Him to receive Edgar's little boy; to keep him safe in Heaven; to give her as much strength and love as possible to support her through this awful tragedy, and to bless her and her family. I will be praying for all families who have had to part with their beautiful children.

Hello everybody, sorry i haven't been here for a while to post on this thread, have been mostly lurking, some sad news about Edgar's son, he has gone home to be with the Lord, but boy does it hurt? My prayers are with her and her loved ones.

After the death of my friend, i think i lost the plot for a while, coupled with me not being able to find a local place of worship where i felt 'right', if i amke any sense, i just was getting by, only by His grace that i have managed to stay afloat, but He is a good God,a friend invited me to a church that has been in my backyard all along, have been going there the past 3sundays but someothing happened this last sunday, i felt The Holy Spirit like never before, i felt His embrace, i had just heard of it, but this time He embraced me, the second worship song i was over, all i could do was cry, i felt a cleansing in my heart and i knew that i was in the right place, He told me things would be alright and they are.

I have a prayer request, i haven't seen a doctor yet but my eye has been bothering me for a while,it feels like there is a cloth covering it, heavy but not painful, more like a cataract,before i go to the doc i ask for your prayers and believe that all shall be well..

Hello BA good news about church.

doing the night shift with poorly children, dd temp over 100, waiting to see if the paracetamol has worked before going to bed. ds poorly, tearful and clingy too, not as hot though and he can only say yes to sore nose about what is wrong.

ba tried to pray about your eye between tired haze and fingernail biting... will try again tomorrow.

Here, prayers of praise that I've coped brilliantly with losing the rest of my hair (so far). Thought I'd be crying or similar but it's actually ok. Phew.

my WI president has just come in to say her mum died on Saturday, so please can I ask for prayers for her dad, and for the rest of the family, both to stay strong and to be able to grieve properly.

4am 4 flippin am when i finally got into my own bed to sleep... urg. Paracetamol took dd's temperasture down, eventually. but ds howled and howled whenever I was in the room and sometimes whilst I was out unless he was being held.

Eek BES! Could you not have co slept with them? You must be exhausted today. Poor little mites feeling so poorly too.

believe me, I tried co-sleeping, but there was no sleeping from either side of the equation for an hour. It works with dd but not with ds... (sigh)

Some momentous decisions coming up at church soon, would welcome prayers there. Am trying not to panic, and to trust God that "all will be well". (I keep hatching escape plans, and I don't think that is what God wants at all )

a lot better night thanks mary If you want to escape you should talk to ds, he is the expert. rattled the stairgate out of the living room door this morning whilst I was upstairs with dd. he has then realy helpfully sat on the back of my neck whilst I was trying to put it back in, because I wouldn't let him on my knee as he would be in the way.

I don't think you would have been chosen if you were not going to add something to the process/learn something from the process.

Will read and pray later. we are still not quite right, but hopefully getting better. On the upside it means I have more time to pray as I sit like a pudding and rest

Well I know I've been a bit secretive lately but can now come out and say it, couldn't before cos couldn't in RL. A couple of weeks back we went for an interview in Telford and dh was offered the job. It's a really exciting post, dh will be a vicar but a different sort called a pioneer minister which is not going into a church which is already there but into a community with no church, no centre. A huge new build estate with nothing built in for community, so it's about starting new stuff, for those of you who are into these things it's about creating fresh expressions of church. So excited, but also rather sad because I feel very settled here in stoke and love my friends here. But we knew the time was coming, and feel so blessed we didn't have a long road of interviews (was the first one) and we knew it was the right place.

So it will be the summer that we move, the diocese have to buy a house for the post on the estate and need to obv get school places sorted and such, and want the kids to finish off the school year here. dd will then do y6 at the next school and hopefully make some friends to go up to high school with.

Feeling nervous but excited about the whole thing!!

Thanks madhair and thanks everyone else for your prayers. Friend's LO doing much better - managed a whole nighh with no fever, has had her first food in a few days, and is getting the tube in her nose removed.

Pray8ing a lot for edgar too, just so very sad.

madhair that is excellent news about DH's job , sounds like such a worthwhile job where God can really make things happen.
