Next door caused that much fuss about our puppy last year climbing through the fence and doing his business in their garden and more to the point refusing to fix the shared fence so he couldn't do it, that we rehomed him.
It wasn't the only reason by far but if he'd been able to play in the garden plenty of other issues would have been easier to live with to say the least.
Well they have just informed me they are getting a new dog, not just that but one that grows to 68kg's and poo's like an elephant.
Am so cross they are either going to fix the fence when it suits them to have an animal or think that they are going to inflict the dog on us when our children had to loose theirs

Well I learnt something new about lproodles crosses today so this thread has been good for something otehr than pure entertainment value. MMM - what about vets bills? What were you planning to do when/if the dog got sick?

Amyway if you can't stand dog hair why get a dog... think I'm back to my goldfish suggestion.

notjustapuppymum · 18/04/2010 12:28

No money for a fence but money to buy a dog in the first place...

shesdrivingmecrazy · 19/04/2010 08:51

Why couldn't you just lock the back door and keep the key out of reach of the children if you didn't want them letting the dog out?

Why was it ok for you to have a dog when the fence was insecure but not ok for them to do the same???

They have probably gone ahead because YOU SET THE PRECEDENT!!!

this is not just a fence this is a mumsnet fence

I think this is my favorite post of the year. Brilliant

wannaBe · 19/04/2010 11:20

have only read first page but...

You hated the dog anyway didn't you? You've posted as much on occasions and wanted to get rid of it.

So let's not pretend that you got rid of the dog because of the neighbours - or maybe that's just the justification you give to your children.

cheesesarnie · 19/04/2010 11:35

this thread has brightened my day.bonkers.

Vallhala · 19/04/2010 12:06

You'll all be pleased to know that the Labradoodle abandoned by MMM is doing splendidly as a sniffer dog in the prison service. There was, and I quote the rescue, "Nothing wrong with the dog, nothing wrong at all. Just a normal puppy". Please note, MMM, this means that the pup was fully capable of being rehomed to a responsible family, despite your assertion to the contrary.

The OP told the rescue that the dog was being left outside a lot as he "was barking all day".

But hey, let's not let that get in the way of blaming a puppy and the neighbours for the OP's ignorance, laziness and snobbish desire not to sully her precious fucking garden with a cheaply erected doggy play-pen area.

stirfry · 19/04/2010 13:34

Oh thats really good! Sounds like he will be a lot happier. How did he get rehomed?

Bella32 · 19/04/2010 15:28

Well done that pup!

He got rehomed when Val stepped in on the previous thread, stirfry.

Good work, Val

MillyMollyMoo · 19/04/2010 15:37

Oh what a load of crap Val, I said nothing of the sort and shall be phoning Barbara to take her up on that comment so I hope for your sake your telling the truth and she's lying otherwise you are going to have egg on your face.

Bella32 · 19/04/2010 15:42

Honesty is very important, I find.

GypsyMoth · 19/04/2010 15:43

MillyMollyMoo · 19/04/2010 15:48

ChickensHaveSinisterMotives · 19/04/2010 15:51

Aw, the idea of a labradoodle being a well 'ard sniffer dog... Glad he had a happy ending

solo · 19/04/2010 15:56

Fight! fight in the moddle of the garden

MillyMollyMoo · 19/04/2010 15:57

Am speaking to Barbara right now so this will be clarified and sorted out. And an apology will be expected.

OP posts:
solo · 19/04/2010 15:57

And perlease! it's a search dog, not sniffer dog!

ChickensHaveSinisterMotives · 19/04/2010 15:59

Oh. Is a sniffer dog more well 'ard than a search dog?

MillyMollyMoo · 19/04/2010 16:00

Barbara said nothing of the sort, has checked her paperwork to be sure, remembers the dog and reasons for rehoming and we've had a chat about how fantastically the dog is performing in his new role.

Val if you have to work in a professional capacity with Barbara and she has now read your comments I'd say you've gone down in her estimation.

Vallhala · 19/04/2010 16:01

So sue me.

CAT me for my details so you can serve a writ if you like.

As much as I shouldn't betray a confidence (and don't usually, which is why I'm so successful and respected in what I do as a rescuer and activist), I just couldn't sit back and 'listen' to all the bullshit which has been spouted about this poor dog.

I'll say it again. You said you "hate" the dog and it is patently clear that your reasons for adding to the already deperately huge number of rescue dogs had sweet fuck all to do with fences and everything to do with him "having no place in (your) well kept home".

I see and deal with far too many of your type and, loathesome as they all are, you really take the biscuit.

GypsyMoth · 19/04/2010 16:01

nice mmm....hope you're feeling proud of yourself!!

MillyMollyMoo · 19/04/2010 16:03

I don't need to sue you, you look like an idiot in front of those you work with, more than enough satisfaction for me.

OP posts:
Vallhala · 19/04/2010 16:04

PS I was definately told of the dog being locked out. I'll leave it to readers here to decide which of us has the greater reputation for honesty MMM.

Furthermore, I don't work with anyone, or for anyone. I'm totally independent.
